The basic premise is this:

Someone makes the house leaders sit down and actually communicate.

Those Who Slither in the Dark are at least somewhat competent and more of a threat.

Here's the wild stuff that really makes me write this:

Sothis is suspiciously similar to Byleth.

Byleth/Monica is a thing and I'm making it my mission to hurt everyone with it.

fun fact about fire emblem fates: the revelations path is only available as DLC (unless you have the Special Edition cartridge; good luck with that). in other words once the 3DS eShop closes there will be no way to obtain a legitimate copy. how grand.

Here is how one can tell it is not a day like any other: Angie's dress and veil are freshly washed and cleaned, for once without a speck of dirt.

Her hair is lovingly combed (Donna would always comb Angie's hair, if the doll would let her. Nowadays she insists on Ingrid doing it and, well. Ingrid's coordination has improved but it still leaves much to be desired). While Angie's flower crown often gets dried out or knocked askew, today it is neither of these things.

The flowers are all bright and vibrant - yellows and blues and reds - neatly interwoven and fitting perfectly on Angie's head.

There's a faint blush on her cheeks, courtesy of Donna's steady hand and make-up ordered from the Duke.

She looks like a bride on her wedding day. And today, she is.

Thinking about how utterly nightmarish soulmate AUs are. There is a physical mark carved into your person as a constant reminder that on your own, you are not whole. In our world, the human body is a complete and individual thing, but in soulmate AUs, you are forcibly tied to someone and a timer counting down to when you will meet is embedded in your skin and you cannot get it out. You can try desperately to stay alone or love someone who is not your soulmate, but the clock will not stop ticking and fate will not change. The most momentous occasion in your life is meeting someone else, an occasion burned into your skin. This is a horror story.

Gonna elaborate later but. While Fire Emblem Fates is a game riddled with strange writing choices, its biggest flaw is actually 1) something that was already a problem for its predecessor ie Fire Emblem Awakening, and 2) not actually a matter of writing proper, but of game design.

Honestly, I don't even care what Haunted Chocolatier's premise is as long as it convinces people to play a life sim that isn't about fucking farming.
