I haven’t read the books so I could be wrong but one of my favorite details of the iwtv show is that they don’t have to sleep in coffins. there’s no windows in their room. I can’t imagine I’d become undead and also immediately love the idea of sleeping in the smallest bed ever, meant for corpses. but they do it. for the camp
