“Darling,” Violet stood to greet her friend -- something she didn’t do for just anyone -- and gave her a quick hug before they got seated. As soon as Veronica was settled, Violet signaled for the waiter to join them. She knew Veronica only had a certain amount of time for her break and she didn’t want her to feel rushed.

“Hmm? Oh, yes. I didn’t end up going. Thought I would stand him up for a change,” She laughed, as though it was just a game they played and not a bitter disappointment every time Will called to cancel -- if he bothered to call at all. “I think it may have been a waste of time, anyway. Father was not impressed. Honestly, I think you may have seen a more splendid display from those crayon pieces. But perhaps you and I might judge for ourselves? We could stop in this weekend and if we are not pleasantly surprised, we can laugh about it later.”

As much as Violet enjoyed spending time with Will, she would be the first to admit that she did like it best when she was with Veronica and the ability to expose her to art (for better or worse) was one of her life’s greatest pleasures. When Veronica was happy, so was Violet.

Violet fidgeted in her chair, trying to locate the waiter she thought she had flagged down a moment ago. “Ugh, sometimes the service here is god awful. I do wish you had time enough for us to meet at The Tasting Room every now and again.”

Despite her complaints, Violet did like like the rustic charm of this place because she only had good memories here. No one else in her circle of friends even knew this place existed and even though it was not exactly to Violet’s tastes, it was their place and could never hate it, for that reason alone.

“Hi, hi, hi!” Veronica exclaimed as she pushed open the door to the cafe. “Sorry, sorry– I got bogged down at work and lost track of time!”

If anyone gave the pair of women sitting at the front window of the cafe half a glass, one might think Veronica was Violet’s assistant. Her friend looked out of place in the litter eatery– too polished and high class for a restaurant where half the staff was running around in jeans and t-shirts. Veronica fit the vibe a bit more– business casual, dressed for work and clearly on her lunch break.

It was lucky for her Violet was a good sport about meeting her for lunch here once a week.

“How was the gallery opening?” Veronica asked, pulling off her jacket as she sank into the chair opposite her friend. She hoped she hadn’t started out with a sore subject– Violet had told her that Will Stark was planning to take her to a gallery opening in the city, but Vee knew about Will’s penchant for cancelling last minute. While Vee would love to attend gallery opening and all of the opulent parties, she didn’t think she’d put up with being treated the way Will seemed to treat Violet at times.

“No where nearly as glamorous, but I did see some very lovely crayon drawings last week when my boss brought his daughter to work. They were all across a variety of rather important documents,” Vee said with a laugh.

I do think it is obvious when Violet flirts with Aaron, but I don’t think that there might not be a whole lot of occasion for the three of them to be in the same place at the same time, so I think it is up to you if Will knows or not??? It’s a small town so things could go through the grapevine, but I feel like Will doesn’t hang out with too many people outside the Alexanders + Gideon + vamp community unless he’s picking up a date??? 

But omg, it would literally be Violet’s dream to leave Will for Aaron and then have Will obsessively try to get her back hahaha but yeah idk that she would know any of that and I imagine she probably isn’t aware of how jealous he’d be otherwise she’d be flirting with Aaron all the time in front of him laskjflsjf 

So I think re: Will & Veronica ... she probably has figured it out a little at this point but also probably chooses to ignore it?? Most of the time she gets angry at the other girls Will flirts with but she doesn’t know how???? to be angry with Veronica (and honestly doesn’t want to) and most of the time I think she just likes to pretend it isn’t happening. But lbr it does really get to her and I think she might eventually confront Will about it, but he also gets all of her rage/jealousy directed at him so ????? who knows how that’ll go!!

will is def of the mindset that god is fake, love is fake, good is fake and he’s like why!!! would!!! i spend eternity!!! with one person!!!!  being 700+ years old, he does also have a better sense of what eternity is like and i think he’s decided that the only thing to do is just have fun w it bc otherwise he just feels empty af and his idea of fun is…really weird tbqh idk how to tell you this but he’s lex porter meets dezod meets…idek what but he’s like ‘i choose chaos’ and just likes watching the world burn a lot smdh

he’s also a collector in the personality sense as well as the literal sense – he collects beautiful faces, moments, objects, etc, bc again he’s just out here fighting his own emptiness tooth and claw and obv he does think that as a vampire she’s superior to, well, anything that’s ~not (will re: violet a couple months ago: ‘who?’ vs will re: violet now: ‘whoo!’) plus he’s got that delusional god complex thing which makes him lskajflksdjfakjsf well the worst tbqh but bc of it he feels like he deserves anything he wants…and to discard anything that isn’t making him feel whatever he’s looking to feel in the moment anymore!!

i do think violet has a lot of the vampire aristocratic qualities that he thinks work well to show her off on his arm, plus she’s beautiful and i think he knows she’s super into him and that’s def an ego boost he enjoys, but at the same time i think he’s aware on some level that she wants more from him than he’s willing to give and that feels a little suffocating and he’s not into it so he’s ready to drop her whenever he’s not enjoying the rest of it, but he also likes the idea of being missed and cared about and likes knowing that he can discard her and then she’ll come running back at a crook of his finger so!!!!!! def a healthy relationship happening here!!!!! laksjflkjsfkj

i do think he does get kinda frustrated w her mindset sometimes tho but he also is v aware that she’s a baby vamp yknow and i think he lowkey believes she’ll grow out of it – and def thinks she’ll grow out of whatever she’s thinking about him bc his delusional god complex vs his rampid self loathing is always out there doing its thing <3 plus he thinks that she’s still approaching eternity w her old human pov and she won’t want those same things as she gets older and it really sinks in what eternity w one person would be…of course that probs has as much to do w his own cynical attitude as anything but here we are alksdjfkljsdf

but atm he’s having fun and she’s not being ~too pushy about things in his opinion so he’s happy to keep things going alkjsfklsjf he def does manipulate her a bit too at times but he thinks its fair bc he’s old enough he probs knows from experience that she’s manipulating him too laskdjflkjsdf

I also don’t think that Violet quite understands what a real relationship/marriage even looks like because her mom and dad are examples number one??? And tbh none of the Alexanders have had a functional romantic relationship, so here we are ;DDD

I do think she sees it more as a status symbol, than anything else. She know she looks good on Will’s arm and he damn well looks good on her’s, too, and I think she does have this idealized version of what their life would be like, if they stayed together. I do think she knows what she doesn’t want – having seen her parents. As much as she wants to be like her dad, she doesn’t want the constant fighting that they were going through – but she does think that the key to get that is through manipulation ????? Like if she can find a way to get Will to blindly do what she wants, w/o him realizing it, than that’s pretty much the dream!!!!

And yeah, while I think she thinks she’s being subtle about it, someone like Will who has lived 700+ years will probably definitely pick up on it pretty quickly and can see what she is trying to do!! I think Violet feels like she holds some power in this relationship, but lbr Will holds all the cards and I think they both probably know that any threats she would make like “if you do that, we are done!” are hollow b/c violet would keep coming back – once she decides she wants something, she’s determined to get it!!!!

I also think that papa alexander really likes and has a lot of respect for Will and I think that that’s another motivator when it comes to trying to be with him is that i think her dad was actually proud when she brought Will around and I’m sure whenever Will decides he’s done with her, it will be another ~failure her dad will throw in her face. hooray!!!

but omG also do you think that she knows will is trying to get with veronica, too?? b/c that would really complicate all of violet’s emotions if/when she finds that out!

Violet has no idea that Aaron is a werewolf! Tbh, if she knew that, her entire plan would be completely off and she would also be completely mortified tbh! Her plan was basically just to marry Aaron and make him her baby daddy and then once they had kids, she could become a vampire. I think she’d been hoping for a richer/wealthier guy for that, but I think she kinda developed  crush on Aaron and he has great genes, so he’ll do! 

Of course, mating with a werewolf is nOT what she had in mind (not to mention, their kids might end up being werewolves and nO????) so the funny thing is, if Aaron spilled his secret to her, she’d leave him 1000% alone and be mortified to be in the same space as him again, b/c it would just serve as a reminder of how stupid she once was. 

Now that she’s an actual vampire, things have changed a bit b/c she can’t have kids, but she’s also going to be seeing if she can dig up a witch that might be able to help on that front and thus she would be the one to still ensure the Alexander line of new vamps continue. In the meantime, she’s not giving up her pursuit of Aaron and she does hope that flirting with him will also make Will jealous!! She also 1000% reads into Aaron’s comments about her being able to do better as him feeling like she should date him instead alfjasldfjsldfj 

She also will be taking no subtle hints that he’s not interested and instead will only attribute any of them to the fact that she does have a boyfriend and Aaron is a nice guy, if she pays any attention to them at all.

sooooo, first off, does violet know aaron’s a woof?  i know that you said werewolves can sense vamps (and werewolves), but can vamps do the same?

second!!!!  ahhhhh!!!!  aaron won’t deny that violet is a stunning woman, but he’s also pr sure he wouldn’t survive a single dinner party at the alexanders’ house (omg now i neeeeed us to write one of those can you imaginE tywin lannister could never ;DDD) little less a full lifestyle containing even one of them alkjsdfjklskfj plus, violet’s just not his type (exhibit a: he’s into v wilson lkjalkjfsdf a slightly different kind of person shall we say hahaha), and she and will seem to have something (granted, incredibly toxic) going so he just…doesn’t need to get involved w whatever’s happening there lkjsdfaklsd for a loT of reasons (this being said he’s def like ‘you can do better!!!! leave that asshole!!!’) but he also lets her down as easy as he can…unlike poor v who he basically insults when he thinks she’s maybe starting to think about them™ but anyway i can alSo see where his well intentioned advice that she should leave will paired with his efforts to let her down gently might be sending mixed signals to someone who might want to misread them lajkdksljf or!! she might just be persistent idk!! but anyway aklsjfkdsf what a mess <3333

Violet arched an eyebrow, feeling that there was more to her sister’s story but not quite interested enough in it to press her further. Instead, she turned back to her mirror and applied mascara to her lashes. “He’s one of the oldest vampires in the region. He can do exactly as he pleases. Besides, he’s exceptionally powerful, rich, and well respected. The sort we should seek to ally ourselves with.” Those were her father’s words and she repeated them with as much conviction as though they were her own. 

“And,” She stopped for a moment, her gaze meeting her sister’s, “as it seems clear that neither you nor Nick are in the habit of making any yourself, you see it falls to me. I imagine Nick is out playing with his dog as we speak.” 

The thought of making Will Stark jealous excited her and she she realized suddenly that she was seriously considering her sister’s suggestion. The trouble being, of course, that she had worked hard to enter into this stage of her relationship with him and there was a part of her that wished she could so easily cancel her plans. If only she knew his own mind well enough to know how he would react? Would he truly be jealous? Or would he decide to move on from her completely? 

What Violet didn’t care to admit (and what she suspected her sister likely knew) was that it hurt her much more deeply than she let on when he canceled their plans or flirted with other girls. She did allow herself to give her sister a soft smile: even Violet knew that this was her sister’s way of looking out for her. It wasn’t something she was used to from most and it was because of this that she didn’t immediately shut down her idea. 

“Hmm, perhaps,” Violet turned her attentions back to her vanity as she sprayed her perfume. “What part of town would you be planning on dragging me to?” She asked, “It would have to be worth my while.”

I feel like Violet does nOT like Sophie at all tbh!!! She’s kind of possessive over V since Veronica is like her only real friend and she definitely gets jealous when she hangs out with other people (#healthy) but also Veronica is an angel who has never done anything wrong in her life ever (Violet: I know this and I love you), so it’s never her fault ... it’s always Sophie’s alskjflasfjl

I don’t think she’d try to sabotage the relationship or anything (she doesn’t wanna risk loosing Veronica as a friend), but I do think it’s clear (especially when Veronica isn’t around) that Violet isn’t a fan of Sophie’s and she’s definitely always really passive-aggressive towards her like “Aww, I love how you will just wear anything.” 

I do think she sometimes tries to ~put up with~ Sophie for Veronica’s benefit but that usually just means she’s ignoring her

I am HERE for out of the box friendships with these two! I love that people probably have always been like “what is the deal with those two?” and they’re like “we owe you NO explanation!” haha!

So I get the vibe that maybe it wasn’t a huge secret that the Alexander family wasn’t the most… happy? of families in town…. which means I could see Momma and Poppa Wilson probably often inviting Violet for dinner, etc, so that she could escape that? (If thats something she even wanted to do!)

so like re: veronica as a kid… pre all the terrible stuff with her family, she was definitely a bit more chill. I honestly am imagining her as being more of an artsy kid! Like for sure these two had some grand plans to like… travel Europe and visit art galleries or something like that. I am thinking a lot of her current tendencies towards needing to be organized and controlled came directly as a result of her life spinning out of control when the Wilson kids lost their parents. (Honestly she needs a therapist but girl is TOO BUSY for that!)  V is very much one of those people who sees only the good (which is probably to her detriment at times!) and can’t understand why anyone WOULDN’T like Violet!

also she is literally the most clueless person in town so the fact that her bestie is now a vampire…. any even small changes are like WOOSH right over her head. 100000% Veronica has to live in a clueless world because if (let’s be real, its actually when!) she finds out about all the supernatural business, she’s probably going to have a bit of a breakdown. Girl is secretly a MESS. (or not so secretly, really) Also with @hfwill​ flirting with her…. kate and I haven’t had a chance to talk that through yet but he is NOT SCORING ANY POINTS doing that! And because V loves Violet she has definitely been TRYING to like Will but since he’s clearly not committed to her bestie… she probably doesn’t have much good to say. (Which is definitely a milestone for her… nice job, Will!)

But yes!!! I feel like everyone knows the Alexanders are .... a total mess, haha!!! And I don’t think it was ever really clear to Violet (even now tbh she doesn’t realize how dysfunctional they all are???? even as her dad killed her mom and she’s honestly not above having her own brother murdered #familygoals) but she really didn’t when she was a kid! However, I do think there was something she really liked about being at the Wilson house & honestly she’s always ever contributed that entirely to V but I do think that the healthy and loving environment played a part on that too, but I don’t think Violet ever really noticed that and just kind of thought that the rest of the family was kinda ~ehhh~ but she always has tolerated them to V’s sake

ALSO!!! I feel like they abSOlutely!! had all of the grandest travel plans!!!! yes!!! I think Violet had dreams of living in Paris and using that as a hub to see all of Europe && totally thought that the two of them would live there for a few years before returning home and settling down!! tbh I think she still had that dream up until she became a vamp (I also think she thought that V would also eventually come around and be okay to leave town and her sisters for Europe for awhile -- especially after Chris and Mia left and Emma was in school but yeah) 

I do think she’s also tried to get V to go on a trip with her, at least, to Europe but idk how well that’s panned out. Also, Violet likes to spoil V and definitely buys her expensive artwork and clothes and jewelry b/c a huge part of her love language is gift giving

Oh! I also said in my comments to Kate that I think Violet got them both friendship bracelets a long time ago & V’s has vervain in her’s so if she’s attacked by a vamp, it’ll weaken them plus she cannot be compelled by Violet or anyone else. (Kate said that Chris has alSO given his sisters jewelry with vervain it in, so V here is double protected <33)

Not sure how you think Chris would feel about Violet, in general??? hER like 1 single genuine and functional relationship iS with Veronica and honestly I think she’s her best self when she’s around her and definitely loves & spoils her. Kate and I also said that they’ve been bffs for a long time, so this is well before the Wilson parents dying and he’s also always known her as a human, too.

That being said, she can definitely be a total bitch to everyone else and I do think she tries with the only Wilson siblings, for Veronica, sometimes they do irritate her and she’s just like "um, ew?” @ all of them.

I think Chris is her favorite of the three of them though literally b/c he’s never home lmao.

I feel like, on paper, there’s no way these two girls get along! I think that they are very similar in some ways that are not traditionally compatible (like both being a little (or a lot in Violet’s case lmao) controlling), but I think, in Violet’s eyes, that Veronica can literally do no wrong and she’s like the 1 person on earth who Violet concedes to!

Violet is from a very dysfunctional family and I think that Veronica was probably one of the first few people in her entire life who just seemed generally nice to her!!! And who wasn’t friends with her because she wanted to prove to Violet that she was better than her/or that she wanted something from Violet since Violet is ridiculously wealthy and connected. But like, Veronica was actually genuine in her friendship and honestly that’s all Violet needed laskjdflfj

I also think that, deep down, Violet does kind of want to be like Veronica: she’s capable and in charge, but also has the love and respect of her family and those are all things Violet craves but Veronica has them in a very functional and healthy way and what Violet doesn’t understand is that gaining the love and respect of her father is not the same of Veronica having it from her own family haha!!

Anyway, Violet is always here for her girl!! She’s also the 1 person who Will can openly flirt with and Violet blames Will for it and not the girl he’s hitting on.
