...what is the "sex is just rock climbing" category

It was kind of a joke between me and a friend ("you wouldn't judge someone for having gone rock climbing with a bunch of different people") but honestly the more I thought about it the more I bought into it unironically because:

It is a physical activity done with one or more partners

You should only go rock climbing with people you trust to not let you fall

You should not go rock climbing with someone who is drunk or currently incapable of rational decision-making

Some people get super super super into rock climbing and do not shut up about all the places they have climbed and how many are left on their bucket list and these people are usually men between the ages of 20 and 35 and like it's fine dude I'm glad you're happy but I don't know what most of those mountains even are

While many consider it a fun activity, pressuring someone into climbing when they don't want to (or ignoring their feelings and just dangling them off a cliff,) could cause both psychological and physical trauma

There is no moral value to it whatsoever. Who you have gone rock climbing with (or whether you have rock climbed at all) has no bearing on who you are as a person. Imagine telling someone "it's not that heights make you nauseous, it's just that you haven't found the right person to belay you!" or "you need to save your first time rock climbing for someone special." That would be absurd.

For some people it is a deep and moving personal experience.

historically I have not asked myself "will this aggravate my hip flexor injury" before participating when perhaps I should have 😔

I need everyone to know that it's very likely, when Anakin overdoes some cool as hell Force thing, he probably absolutely HOUSES every edible thing in a 30 meter distance. I am imagining, after Mortis and the sick as fuck stuff he pulled here, after about 30 minutes into the trip home, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka found him face-first in the rations box just absolutely CRAMMING HIS FACE, full chipmunk cheeks with protein bars and strawberry flavored nutrient paste smeared along his cheeks, and nobody says a word. Just the quiet "*munchmunchSWALLOWmunchmunchGULPmunchmunchmunch*" in the background. Absolutely nothing is safe after a Jedi does something cool, all the clones just look at each other in awe of the entire tank General Kenobi lifted up with the Force and forcibly threw into the middle of a bunch of battle droids and they all silently dig out their extra ration bar in their armor and start handing them over, while Obi-Wan is just woodchippering them like he's never eaten a single thing before in his life.

Ok, I was admittedly a bit nervous to read My Lady Jane. I'm feeling SIGNIFICANTLY less so after this on page ix:

Pay attention. We've tweaked minor details. We've completely rearranged major details. A witch puts a spell on a girl, a sleeping spell that promises the girl shall wake through true love’s kiss. Men come and kiss her. She slumbers. Women come and press their lips to hers, but still she sleeps. Many years past, and the girl remains still. One bright morning,  a lost little boy finds her resting spot and clears the dust and grime from her face. He offers her a kiss on her forehead, and her eyes flutter open. She never feels romantic love for a man nor a woman, and she cares for the boy until the day she dies.

A young woman is imprisoned in a castle by a monstrously formed prince. The servants of the castle hope for them to fall in love, and when the spell is broken they assume their prayers have been answered. They are all surprised, but nonetheless pleased, when it is revealed to them that the young woman and prince are the truest of friends, and nothing more.

They say the kingdom is ruled by an evil queen, a woman who is incapable of loving. She is unmarried, she has no consorts, and she wishes for no partner. She is the wretched queen, the heartless queen. She must hate her daughter, for her daughter is beautiful, and women are incapable of liking another woman who’s prettier than themselves. It must be for this reason that the princess was sent away, not for how she was attacked by a man in the woods. They say the kingdom is ruled by an evil queen because she cannot love. The queen loves her daughter, and that is enough for them both.

There lives a prince who is forced to choose a bride at the ball. He meets many beautiful women, but find none which he loves. He spies one in a gorgeous gown and wonder in her eyes, and he dances with her all night long. The kingdom is sure he has found his bride. When the clock strikes midnight he tells her how he will never love a woman, or a man, in the way he is expected to. The beautiful woman smiles and tells him she expects nothing from him. The next morning the prince and the beautiful woman are missing, having run off together to see the world. They leave their shoes behind in their haste.

Many kinds of love exist. It doesn’t all have to be romantic.

Would anyone be interested in a fic of Ross and Robert chaotic coparents scheme to Seb back off Rebecca’s aunt possibly with Mack as an accomplice.

Like Robert has come back to the village but as promised he’s staying away from Aaron (just Aaron he’s still trying to bring John down) and one day Ross corners him and says “I miss Seb and I’m sure you do too, why don’t we work on this together rather than against each other?” So they start trying to work out who would get him when and what their best chance at court would be because neither is stupid enough to go straight to kidnap.

Mack sees Roberts distrust of John and wants in on taking him down but some how gets pulled into the chaos. Maybe because Moses and proving that Ross can coparent on a custody claim.

I don’t know I just think it’d be funny if the whole village seen the three of them hanging out and thought oh good lord what are they up to? And everyone is trying to put a stop to it before they burn the whole village down and then it’s just like….we are literally not doing anything crazy.

Aaron is pretending not to care about what’s happening but he is worried about Robert and Ross suddenly being friends and what it’ll mean

your time is worthwhile if your disability means you have to rest most of the time. if you can only do a few events a month, or a year, that's alright. if you need to sleep a lot, lie down a lot, that time isn't wasted. it doesn't make your experiences any less meaningful. feeling like you're missing out on different activities doesn't make the ones you do any less worthwhile. being disabled and restricted in activities doesn't make you boring or diminish your worth. there's no threshold for things you have to do to "really experience life" - you experience it by being alive. and every disabled life is a life that's worthwhile

Hey. Your brain needs to de-frag. Literally it needs you to sit there and space out.

If you want your memory or executive function to improve, stare out a window at the skyline or sidewalk or trees or birds on the electrical wires for like 20+ minutes per day. (With no other stimulation like a podcast or TV if you can manage but hey baby steps innit). If you're fortunate enough to have safe outside with any bits of nature, go stare closely at a 1 meter square of grass and trip out on the bugs and shapes of grasses and stuff.

Literally this will make you smarter. Our brains HAVE TO HAVE this zone out time to do important stuff behind the scenes. This does not happen during sleep, it's something else.

That weird pressurized feeling you get sometimes might be your brain on no defrag.

use search for a cause or ecosia to support the environment instead of google

use thriftbooks to buy new or used books (they also have manga, textbooks, home goods, CDs, DVDs, and blurays)

use flashpoint to play archived online flash games

find books, movies, games, etc. on the internet archive! for starters, here's a bunch of David Attenborough documentaries and all of the Animorphs books

burn your music onto cds

use pdf24 (available online or as a desktop app) instead of adobe

use unroll.me to clean your email inboxes

use thunderbird, mailfence, countermail, edison mail, tuta, or proton mail instead of gmail

remove bloatware on windows PC, macOS, and iOS X

remove bloatware on samsung X

use pixelfed instead of instagram or meta

use NCH suite for free software like a file converter, image editor, video editors, pdf editor, etc.
