Have we discussed exactly what 25,913 attempts means in context of the Agrestes' A+ parenting yet?

Agrestes are solo artists. Gabriel tells Adrien this during Captain Hardrock, and that's probably not the first time.

Agrestes are perfectionists. One little mistake on Adrien's part, whether it's fencing or practicing his piano, and Gabriel is going off on him about how his friends are bad influences on him.

This is a kid who's grown up being told that he has to be perfect, and he has to do it alone. He keeps trying for literal WEEKS because it's not okay for him to fail in any way, never mind how he may not be a suitable match for the powers or they may simply need the Snake in addition to Chat Noir.

His success only comes about because he finally accepts that he can't protect Ladybug by himself, but he puts himself through hell trying before getting to that point.

Because IF this was true, that would DEFINITELY explain Marinette’s/Ladybug’s insistence on choosing Adrien over Luka both times. I chalked it up to the writers just trying to make plot happen for Adrien getting the snake, but it could have actually been a result of Marinette subconciously trying to “prove” Adrien is the right one for her. Even Tikki’s line “you have a troubled heart” would put this into real context when we consider that kiss would have really confused and upset her. In the time “between” these episodes, she’d probably been talking up Adrien in her head, proving that yes, she is definitely in love with HIM and not Cat Noir.

bless you gemzwayzz for pointing this out. Honestly I’m getting more and more of an urge to host a streaming party and showing all the episodes in the CORRECT FUCKING ORDER so we can catch more stuff like this.

THIS HAPPENED RIGHT BEFORE DESPERADA, ladybug saw the picture, marinette and adrien knew what happened. They kissed and they dont fucking know how, what and why that happened SO:

This explains why adrien was so pushy and tried so hard to prove ladybug he was worthy of her love, i quote ‘if my dream came true once, it can happen again’ (adrien in oblivio), thats why he tried to save her 25,913 times, HE WAS TRYING TO RELIVE OBLIVIO Y’ALL and thats why he got so frustrated when he realized he wasnt the right holder for the snake miraculous.

This is mostly because HE IS FREAKING CHAT NOIR and he had a duty as a hero. That’s why aspik wont ever work with ladybug because chat is the perfect duo for ladybug and i want adrien to learn that. And i think he did???

Also i think ladybug was trying to avoid chat noir? A little bit? She chose aspik and then she said they didnt need him? Was that because of the kiss?? She surely said that conversation wasnt over? Idk im just rambling

I wish this were true, but none of that happened for Marinette since that was out of the time loop, and those things happened so early in his attempts he probs legit forgot about all of those.

ok wait wait wait actually one other thing that suddenly makes sense if we reconsider episode order.

ok so I know we all remember the disaster that is Puppeteer 2.0. But barring the cringe scene, there was one other scene that caught my attention I thought was kind of weird. Anyone remember this moment?

When Ladybug, the literal girl of Cat Noir’s dreams, leans in for a kiss, he doesn’t act “surprised” or “excited” or what I would’ve expected for typical Cat Noir. I chalked it up to him never expecting her to act like that, or just the writers trying to save him from losing his miraculous and not getting too distracted. OR just giving him an anime protagonists comedic response to a girl leaning in for a kiss, even though that.... wouldn’t fit Chat’s character.

Doesn’t that look like he’s panicking a little bit?
