hey quick update

over the past few days I’ve been able to get more paragraphs of Chapter 14 out, but while I’ve been writing it, my plans for chapters 15 and 16 have changed. Specifically, a bit of lore that was meant to be revealed in Chapter 15 has now been moved to Chapter 16 (which is also looking to be quite possibly one of the shortest chapters so far?) and a scene that I originally was going to have in Chapter 16 has been modified a bit and moved to 15. Thanks again for the patience!

Truly one of the oddest feelings is reading a fic that is so out of character but the writing and plot is so compelling. Like yeah I came here for the characters but yeah you know what I will read your original novel with the serial numbers plastered on

I JUST HAD TO DELETE ALMOST EVERY WORD OF CHAPTER 14 BECAUSE I ONLY NOW REALISED THAT FOR THE QUESTION THAT’S ASKED AT THE VERY START OF THE CHAPTER TO BE REASONABLY ASKED, THE NEW LORDS WOULD HAVE TO HAVE KNOWLEDGE THAT THEY DON’T GET UNTIL CHAPTER 21

Chapter 13: A More Formal Introduction

Sharing this here because I’m pumped that I’ve actually written words for Chapter 13 today and I want to give yall some more breadcrumbs:

Here to announce that the next three chapters will be lore-dedicated chapters, focused mainly on worldbuilding rather than anything else! They come in three different… “flavours” if you want to call them that.

Chapter 13’s lore drops are ones that haven’t been established here, but aren’t particularly groundbreaking and don’t really change much about the lore of the story. I still think a lot of you will find said lore drops interesting but they ultimately don’t amount to much.

Chapter 14’s lore drops are really less lore drops and more just… more detailed expansions on stuff that’s already been established here. I could elaborate on what I’m talking about but I want to keep it a secret, even if it’s relatively obvious what I’m talking about.

Chapter 15, however, is… kind of a bombshell in terms of its lore? Well, not “bombshell” per se, but it’s the only one that actually ties up any of the loose threads about the worldbuilding. Loose threads that, luckily, nobody has asked me about yet! :3 (you can send more asks to see if you can guess what it’s gonna be about… or just send me asks in general… but don’t feel pressured into doing it just have fun)

After that we have a fun little chapter that mostly serves as just filler, the crazy rollercoaster of emotions that is Chapter 17, more interesting and cool stuff that doesn’t really amount to anything special in Chapter 18…

…and it’s all downhill from there. ;)

Big fan of sun motifs in characters not necessarily being about positivity and happiness and how they're so " bright and warm" but instead being about fucking brutal they are.

Radiant. A FORCE of nature that will turn you to ash. That warmth that burns so hot it feels like ice. Piercing yellow and red and white. A character being a Sun because you cannot challenge a Sun without burning alive or taking everything down with them if victorious.
