Feels like people forget education is a privilege and a human right, that many disabled people dont have

disabled people who dont have access to education and had to drop out, or even wernt ever able to start education

often get told we are "privileged" that our parents "let" us not be in education, so far from the truth, we are so marginalised and underprivileged because we dont have access to education

Im not talking about people who dropped out at 16, or in college or whatever, im talking about those of us who dropped out before its allowed because we literally, can not go to school, or engage in education at home

at ages as young as 9, 7, 5!! so many disabled people are forced to leave education because we are too disabled to go to school, and even do home school, we aren't privileged, we are heavily marginalised.

We deserve education just like anyone else, we arent privileged or lucky for being excluded from education

Some of us could go to education, but the systems that are supposed to help us access our RIGHT to an education, are heavily flawed, and take months of our carers fighting for us, even years, so for those months and years we just have to wait, watch our peers get the education we deserve, just wait until we have the right provision to access an education.

Peoples reaction is either "your so lucky you could leave school when you were younger, i wish i could" (i did not choose this. I am not lucky.)

Or its "okay how are you going to get a job?? Fucntion in the real world??" Thats the point, i wont, thats the point, im not going to, and i cant, thats the point.

Hi, welcome to Our Time in The Stars! We are a non-profit, ISAT zine meant to celebrate ISAT's upcoming anniversary. Woohoo! A year of ISAT!! Come celebrate a year of this amazing game with us and see the community's love!

It would be crabby of us to leave you with just this information, and we aren't crabs. So, let us give you a lil' bit of info about us!

What is your zine about?

Our Time in The Stars is entirely focused on celebrating In Stars and Time's upcoming anniversary! Our goal is to show @insertdisc5 our appreciation for making such a beautiful game, along with showing off all the skilled stars amongst our community.

Is there any overall theme?

Yes! Our goal was to create works inspired off the game's main story, separating them into Acts to similar to how the game presents itself. We have pre-game content, the main story line, and end-game content. All! In! Order!!!

How big is the zine?

Our zine is 8.5x11in big! So, pretty big if I say so myself. We had the pleasure of working with over 28 contributors who helped to create a whopping 52 page zine! This big boy is chonkyyyy.

Will it be a digital or physical zine? Do I have to pay?

Our Time in The Stars will be a digital zine for your viewing pleasure! And it will be.... *drum rolls*

ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!

Out of respect for insertdisc5/Adrienne, our zine will be completely free for the public to view. That being said, all work within the zine is protected and may not be reposted/redistributed without the expressive permission of selective artists. No writing and art featured in the zine can be used to train or become part of the AI algorithm. Reproduction of the zine for monetary gain is NOT allowed! Basically, don't be a crab.

Where can I read the zine when it releases?

Good question, stardrop! Our zine is set to release on our itch.io for November 20th, 2024. So, you can read it! Here!

What has Loop looking so distressed I wonder....

Been playing Triangle Agency with a few of my friends lately, so I figured I'd post some art of my latest little blorbo, Lena, who's a Gun/Struggling/Gravedigger. (Lark, on the right in the last image, belongs to @hieroglyphwitch!)

She's the Agency's #3 girlfailure. Her Gun manifests as one of those silly-looking Nerf laser tag guns. Her hobbies include aggressively shaking the vending machines at work, getting into deeply unhinged situationships with her coworkers, and great acts of self-sabotage.

Like a true Gun, she's diligent and attentive, but prideful and self-centered... and she performs most effectively under the guiding hand of a watchful General Manager. 📺

(A little more infodumping under cut.)

She was really inspired by characters like GLaDOS and Agent Black... I wanted to have a "tortured woman" character, who is definitely justified in at least some of her retaliation under an oppressive system, but who also creates a lot of her own problems.

I think she has a lot of difficulty understanding and accepting her Anomaly— she doesn't fancy herself a violent or really even aggressive person, because I figure in many ways, violence has been normalized in her life.

She's just a very tired person who wants all these horrible things she experiences to end: debt, chronic pain, suffering, addiction, and most importantly, the annoying ass pharmacist at Walgreens. And regardless of whether she ever intended on acting on them before, the Gun heard her, and gave her the power of Ending Things.

It's been really interesting watching how she chooses to use her Gun– it can't be [directly] used offensively against Anomalies (so far?), only the mundane, so I want to see how that responsibility changes her.

Maybe she'll do some introspection, and learn to stop burning every bridge that looks at her wrong.
