The worst thing is that there is so much potential for exploring the horror of psych wards from the angle of medical abuse, ableism, forced treatment/drugging, loss of autonomy, power imbalance, demonization, dehumanization, etc, and YET the horror genre keeps defaulting to "insane asylums and psych wards are scary because there are mentally ill people in there"

I think, at least from what I understood of the question, that they believe "trace Black" people should be welcome. The issue I have with that is that... You cannot just... Decide to be Black and that's it. That's not how any of this works. And like I said, when I consider Rachel Dolezal and how racist her debacle was- and Joe she could have shown up to support the Black community while doing none of the shenanigans she pulled- no, I cannot say that I am comfortable with that, no. Like I'm not gonna specifically chase them away, but they are not going to find ideology in line with what they think (that you can transition into a different race) here. 😐

And TO BE CLEAR someone following what an AI told them to do and getting sick because they undercooked their food or god forbid foraged mushrooms, is in no way "oh well if they're stupid enough to listen to it they deserve what happens to them" that's a really shitty and insensitive attitude to have towards people when the culprit is the corporations that are pushing chatbots as a replacement for information searching without implementing any kind of fact-checking at all(because they're not actually web searching)

Saw a post yesterday of someone saying they were using ChatGPT for cooking directions and like idk you do you but just thinking about the time Google AI overview was telling you to cook your chicken to an internal temperature of 105°F(it looks like it's fixed now but like....idk PERSONALLY I'd be worried about what else it might get wrong because there's so many foodborne illnesses that can kill you if you're not diligent)

Ive had the privilege of working on the starzine express charity zine that’s been going on recently, and now I finally get to share some bits of what I’ve been working on!

Super excited to be among many talented artists, writers and cosplayere as a part of Starzine Express, a charity fanzine! Here's a little preview of the fic I contributed:

She collapsed down, drawing her knees up to her chest as she tried to catch her breath, pacing each inhale and exhale to the lap of the water against the shore. Only now that she was still did she take a moment to assess the damage: a few scuffs in her paint, an ache in her shoulder where she'd hit the ground. Nothing too terrible. And Rusty…she was sure Rusty was alright, a wave of guilt washing over her for just running off.
