observing her fellow peer`s pet react as if he understood his owner`s words was fascinating to hinamori, and she let out a giggle as he displayed his willingness to submit by showing signs of affection. hinamori did enjoy dogs, even if she seemed to be more of a cat person overall. tamazuki`s questions bounced the focus back onto her, however, which startled hinamori somewhat. really, was she the right person to ask these sort of things to?
"i don`t think they have any place to put pets on campus, to my knowledge," she muttered, knowing her answer was of no use. "a-and i`ve never really handled a dog before, so...!"

she gulped. at least, she never had to take care of an animal that depended on her. inwardly, she could tell tobiume was being huffy at the hint of her master comparing herself to a pet.
{beware of dogs} {open}
Was it truly that odd for Tamazuki to tote around his dog? He was of the knowledge that humans did so often, as a sign of companionship and other similar sentiments. Then again, he was in a school- but he was sure if the authorities found him troublesome, he would already have been approached.
“I suppose I missed the memo,” he comments, loosening his hold on Inugami as the pup began to whine its complaints. Lifting his gaze to the girl, Tamazuki asks, “He’s becoming ill behaved, though, I don’t suppose you’d know where I could put him away for a while to let him cool off?”
The threat gives the desired effect, and Inugami whine even more piteously, ears drooping and licking at Tamazuki’s hand.
“Or would you be interested in minding him for a while?”

hollowed dreams. ( closed to aizen, shinji, and hitsugaya )
darkness had enveloped the school building, creating a world of illusions, of stretched hallways seeming to lead into nowhere. only the sound of the ticking hands of a clock mounted above the lockers, of which reflected the sliver of moonlight filtering through the opposite window with great pristine, was heard. as each second ticked by, hinamori could feel the strength of someone`s reiatsu throb with increasingly in intensity. it was a nostalgic feeling, really, to feel this much reiatsu in a school setting. her mind wandered as she took each new step into the abyss back to her own days at the academy. of when her career as a shinigami ended before it even began.
the fear was fresh in her mind. kira`s deafening screams, renji trembling silently beside her, her own heart palpitating and cold sweat forming on her skin. with only a handful of weaker kidou to defend herself and not even an inkling of mastery over her zanpakutou (she hadn`t even learned tobiume`s name yet!), she was so sure her fool-hardy rush to hisagi`s defense was the final nail in all four`s coffin. she was so stunned with fear that she didn`t even wallow in guilt over that.
that was when he came, when he saved them all.
she could remember this part clearly. he had towered over her more so than he did now, and he carried a gentle air of reassurance. her eyes were glued to the spectacle before her, of two real shinigami officers destroying the hollows swarmed around them. as hinamori remembered how the wave of reiatsu died down with each slayed hollow, the now lieutenant-ranked shinigami made a discovery. the reiatsu she was gravitating towards was not one, but many clumped together. no wonder it felt so nostalgic.
no wonder she wasn`t scared.
the petite girl reached the end of the hallway and found herself at the opening of a window. gazing outside the glass, her eyes widened, and a small gasp escaped her lips. there were easily forty hollows preying on some of the other shinigami on patrol in this area—and so easily were these lesser seated shinigami slayed that they hadn`t even gotten the chance to signal for help. popping a gikongan into her mouth, hinamori leaped out of her gigai, hand readily gripping tobiume`s hilt. it seemed like it was going to be a rather long night.

now both the owner and the dog shifted their attention towards the poor shinigami trying to scramble back to her feet. she was aware of the heat rushing to her cheeks, of which only amplified further upon the realization that she`d forgotten to pick up her textbook. with a quick bend at the waist, she scooped the textbook back into her arms.
"ah—yes, i am!" she responded with haste, clutching the large tome to her chest. "i`m sorry, i didn`t really mean to disturb...!"
disturb what, exactly, she hadn`t the faintest of clues. perhaps he was in the middle of showcasing his dog to the crowd, or maybe he was just about to leave. hinamori didn`t pay close enough attention prior to gaining his attention to possibly know.
"i, er, had no idea they even allowed pets on campus."

{beware of dogs} {open}
Inugami gnashed his teeth and growled threateningly at this newcomer, who reeked of fear and the desire to run- very far away. Unamused, Tamazuki clutches the pup to his chest, glancing at the frightened girl with a vague, poorly constructed expression of concern.
“Are you alright?” He asks, trying to keep the puppy from leaping from his arm and scaring the girl further. Much as it would have entertained the tanuki, with the crowd as it was and teachers passing by now and then, the only consequence for his actions would have been some form of sanction, and in his current mood, he was not entirely certain if he could stand for such petty formalities.
The crowd of students continue to titter, and momentarily, Inugami’s attention is curbed away from the girl.

the hallway was buzzing with excitement as the students gathered around something, thus effectively clogging the traffic between classrooms. legs swaying with quick celerity came to a sudden halt as she accidentally bumped into the outer layer of the crowd, causing the rather small girl to drop her books. with a frown, she bowed her head in an apologetic gesture and stooped down to gather the tomes back in her arms. hinamori could recognize when something wasn`t quite her fault, and even more she could recognize when the other party simply stopped caring.
no one seemed to pay the small woman mind, but they did create an almost impossible situation for her to get to class on time. one moment, her calculus book lay at the feet of a soccer player, the next it was kicked further inward. cursing her luck, hinamori muttered more pardons as she followed the textbook into the center of the crowd—
and was face first with the center of attention.
"a dog!" she gasped, taken aback. as with anyone that was unfamiliar with a potentially dangerous animal, hinamori was sure being so close to the dog was a bad idea.

{beware of dogs} {open}
Tamazuki was thankful for Tanchou’s relaxed pet-keeping policies, as it allowed him to tote around the demon-pup as much as he wanted, provided that he kept it from getting into trouble whether by dint of his bark or bite. As much as he (passively) coaxed the other youkai to attend classes in his human form, Inugami would reason that the uniforms were ill suited to him, and really, Tamazuki was used to carrying a puppy around and looking as harmless as possible.
However, this particular image invited attention that Tamazuki had never prepared for:
“Ah, that’s a really cute puppy you have there! Can I pet him?”
Even as Inugami growled and bared his fangs at the other student, they continued to crowd him, finding his reactions to them ‘adorable’. Tamazuki could only bear with the indignity, a polite smile on his face.
“Of course you can- careful, though, he might bite.”

just because hinamori wasn`t unable to get back into her original gigai didn`t mean that it was a viable excuse to skip out on performing her mission as best as possible. she was still able to detect unusual spiritual balances all the same, even if she stood inches below five feet. even if her current body wasn`t quite a problem at all, she still felt uneasy about her current predicament. it was almost as if some other forces were at play, and this was something the lieutenant had to get to the bottom of.
after weaving through a few bodies (of which proved to be much easier given her smaller size now), hinamori made a mental resolution to keep to herself while being in hitsugaya`s body. she wasn`t sure exactly what his mission was for tancho academy, but she was determined to make sure she wasn`t going to create any obstacles for him to jump over later. her shoulders rose in a sigh as her eyes, a now brilliant hue of turquoise, drifted towards the linoleum floors.
“U… Um… excuse me?”
it seemed like it was time to test how well she knew her childhood friend. stopping in her tracks, the fifth division lieutenant trapped inside the tenth division captain`s body tilted her head heavenward. just the mere height difference caused her to feel smaller, frailer, although this man would have had the same effect on her if she were in her regular body. she gulped.

i hope he`s not hitsugaya-kun`s friend...
"u-um, yes?" she replied timidly, kicking herself mentally as she stammered over her words. no, that`s not how hitsugaya talked at all! if she wanted to keep his mission safe, she`d have to do more than that! "i mean—what is it?"
hinamori made a point to furrow her brows together to look angrier. yes, the angrier she looked, the better of a hitsugaya she was!

hey, i really just met you. [ open ]
Not being much of a morning person, no matter how hard she tried to be, Yun Lee had woke to nothing more than what she believed to be another day.
However, she need only to simply raise up from, what she originally believed to be, her bed until she had notice a sudden… growth? Not to mention the fact that as soon as she made it to the bathroom mirror, she had immediately noticed that the face she was currently staring at was not her own.
“… Who?”
In fact, she has little to no memory of who this person was at all. Which had frightened her most because that meant…
Someone she had no idea of was currently in her body.

She didn’t know this man, and while she isn’t one to judge, she certainly wasn’t going to take the chance of anything possibly happening to her body. The wo… man… whatever, was still responsible of her body’s well-being. And she thought it would be better for her to reassure that things were good for the original owner of this body too.
Not only that, but the fact that this body wasn’t exactly… normal, so to speak. While Yun was still in control when it came down to her thoughts and actions, there was still a nerve wrecking feeling that she was unable to let go of — or rather, was forced not to let go of.
Leaving her current room — along with bumping this poor bodies head on the door, because whoa this guy was tall — Yun had decided to see if anyone else seemed to be suffering this sudden turn of events as well. Along with going on the search of finding her own body.
Despite doing so, she was still a bit hesitant once she had spotted the first person in sight. The worse that could happen would be that she bump into some enemies of the owner of this persons body, which she had certainly did not want to happen.
“U… Um… excuse me?”

Having only heard the deepening voice once, it took her by surprise that she was currently the one talking. Especially if one were to base by just appearances… it was probably — No. It was completely strange to see a towering man so hesitantly speak out towards someone. Way to be awkward, Yun.

once the person in question turned around and provided the time, hinamori`s hands shot up to her face. that was her body without her being inside of it! with a shocked gasp, she managed to keep the extremely large urge to scream under control and proceeded directly to the part where freaking out would be acceptable. it definitely was acceptable in this case, wasn`t it?
"h-hitsugaya-kun? why are you inside of my gigai?" she asked, her voice an octave or three higher than usual. "which gigai am i in?"
fortunately for everyone else passing by this spectacle, this situation wasn`t a dire emergency. the gigai both shinigami inhabited were merely temporary shells used to interact with the human world. never had she heard of being switched during one`s slumber, though! thinking long and hard about the previous night as hitsugaya (in her body might she add) responded to her inquiries, hinamori tried to remember a point in time where the switch might have occurred. even if she could remember a point in time where such an event did take place, it hardly seemed logical for her to switch into another`s gigai!
the face hitsugaya saw was definitely his own except different in a few key points. the harsh lines of indifference were softened by hinamori`s concern, and his gigai stood in a delicate manner communicating nervousness. even if she looked exactly like the tenth division captain, hinamori made a poor replacement.

this isn`t my room... || hinamori & hitsugaya
The captain got up very really early for class, until he remembered that it was a Sunday morning. He mentally smacked himself in the face for not even remotely thinking of that realization. After all, he could have used the sleep after finishing a few things for a few classes. Even though the captain was one to go to bed very late and get up very early in the morning, he would only do that for work. Other than that, the captain would sleep well into the afternoon, even as late as three or four o’clock in the afternoon. A lot of his comrades and subordinates wondered how he was even able to pull of the full-time job of a captain with very few hours of sleep. They also wondered and were shocked at how he could sleep well into the afternoon. Hitsugaya told them that the only way to find out was for them to actually spend a day in his shoes, figuratively speaking there.

He got up and sat up on his bed. He hoped that his roommates wouldn’t be disturbed by him getting up at a nice, quiet 4:30 in the morning. Usually the captain stayed up until around one or two o’clock in the morning while he was back in the Soul Society, but here at the academy, lights usually went out around eleven or twelve o’clock. He would much rather prefer not to stick out, so he complied with the usually lights out time, even if it wasn’t a set in stone rule. Thinking about what had happened the night before, he sighed. However, his head jumped up a bit at the sound of his sigh. It sounded…girlish? Wait. This cannot be right—this cannot be right at all. How did his voice become so feminine in just one night? He wasn’t taking any types of medications to make him seem like a girl nor was he a crossdresser. How was this even possible? The now fukutaicho carefully crept out of bed, making sure no one woke up from the noise being made. He quickly made his way over to the closest mirror to see what exactly was going on. It’s not like there could have been some mutant transformation of everyone that made them switch bodies or something like that. Finding one, he almost let out a shriek. But how? How could he turn into-into her? There was no way someone could have put him in a lab and done something so that he would have been switched with her. No freaking way. He quickly stepped out of the dorm room to see if this phenomena had been happening to anyone else in the school. Lucky for him, he found someone else out way early in the morning. Maybe they could help him out with this new and rather macabre problem. Before he could walk before over and ask what was going on, the figure then stepped up to him and asked him what the current time was.

“I believe..it’s around 4:55 AM,” he said looking down at the pastel pink watch on his wrist. However, that voice…it sounded quite familiar to him. He looked up only to see himself?! What? “But—how is this even possible?!” he semi shouted before he decided to wake up the whole campus. He knew that he would have to get used to the sound of her voice one way or another. “Ah, well I’m Hitsugaya Toshiro and I’m currently stuck in the body of Hinamori Momo.” Besides, if he introduced himself, then that would get him closer to finding out who exactly had his body in the first place.

this isn`t my room...
sunlight filtered through the curtains and onto the sleeping boy`s face. it was an unfamiliar feeling, normally since her bed was positioned in a way where it was impossible for sunlight to even touch it at all times of the day. through closed eyes, her retinas detected the sunlight, causing her to stir out of his sleep. with a soft moan, she rolled over to her side. eventually, her eyes fluttered open, taking in a much different sight than she`d expected.
there were several out of place from this room as opposed to the room she`d slept in the night before. the girly decor was nowhere to be seen, first of all, and there was a certain smell she couldn`t quite place her finger on. cologne, perhaps? whatever it was, it was not the soft, delicate, flowery scents her roommates used for perfume, nor was it a fruity air freshener. shooting straight up in her bed, hinamori glanced around the room—and saw a few other boys sleeping in their beds.
letting out an exclamation of surprise, she scrambled out of the bed and landed on her feet. exactly where was she? and why did things seem so much taller than he was used to? in her state of confusion, she hurried towards the door, slipped out quietly so as to not further disturb the sleeping residents, and ventured off down the hall. wondering what time it was (since it hadn`t occurred to her before she left the room to check a clock), she stopped the nearest person.
"excuse me," she asked, her voice sounding boyishly foreign to her own ears. "what time is it?"

a hand shot up to her chest as the snakes slithered into the bushes, hissing all the while. even spiritual entities feared members of kingdom animalia, although she could safely say they were the least of her worries. a chill ran down her spine; snakes sure were intimidating!

brown eyes fluttered up to focus upon the man`s face with a confused expression as he spoke. his assurance was enough to tell hinamori that he was not in danger—in fact, these snakes were his friends! the defense arm that was raised earlier out of reflex lowered itself to her side.
"oh," she responded plainly, giving herself a moment for her heart rate to slow down. her gaze shifted upon the snake adorning the man`s shoulder`s like a scarf. it seemed that the man enjoyed giving his friends their own personalities, at least, to hinamori. she hadn`t encountered someone who could speak to animals before. "i, um, see... i`m sorry to disturb you, then."
a tint of pink formed on her cheeks as she casted her gaze off towards the side.

♙ Life molting. Intro//Open
Snake froze. He honestly wasn’t expecting somebody to come out of the blue and address him personally, but at least this meant he wouldn’t be wandering around in circles anymore.
Well, he’d get to that eventually. After he managed to calm this girl down- she seemed to think that his snakes were going to harm him. The snakes themselves already assumed that, and most of them began sliding towards nearby trees and bushes to hide for a while. Snake raises his hands reassuringly, blinking.

“It’s alright, we’re not going to hurt anybody,” He assures, and the grey snake on his shoulders—Keats—flicks its tail again. “Unless you plan on hurting us, we’re harmless. Please think of us as nothing more than pets, says Keats.”

flesh gave way to yomi`s soft poke to the cheek, causing hinamori to wail out in an embarrassing response. hands flying up to her cheeks in shame, the combination of surprise and embarrassment made the shinigami`s world spin for a moment. whether hinamori enjoyed this torment or not, she was making quite the spectacle herself!
"o-of course, i wouldn`t ever peep—on purpose i mean, not that i`ve seen...!" her stammered reply was quickly cut off as yomi proceeded down the pathway, and with great timing; hinamori knew when she was digging herself a deeper social hole. "ah—alright!"
walking past the school building, the pair arrived at a set of new buildings of a slightly different architecture. these buildings were longer, wider, and abundant with students coming in and out of the dual doors welcoming outsiders into its halls. turning her head to and fro in an attempt to take in the entire scenery, her lips parted in awe.
"is this the building, isayama-san?" she asked, although she could have easily answered her question if she pulled out her map. that would have taken a few more seconds to find her answer, though!
