i cringe every time i see that sun burnt pic of him 😭😭 not cause i find it gross or anything, i’m just hit with flashbacks of all the times i’ve gotten horrible sunburns

his sunburn doesn’t look all that bad to me but i’ve had far more aggressive sunburns than that and yes they’re very painful. i got one a couple years ago that was so bad i could barely lie down without feeling the sting. couldn’t lie on my side much either. my skin was red, not pink, but red. that sunburn fucked me up so bad i had the residual tan left behind for an entire year before it finally went away. not to mention the peeling, oh the peeling!

i never want to experience a burn that bad again which is what prompted me to do research about sunscreens which led me to lab muffin beauty’s videos on youtube and i discovered australian sunscreens and why they’re so innovative. and why australians in particular take sun protection and education very seriously

Lol they do this.....a lot and weird reasons, I've seen quite a few with the "see how flexible I am, why is he so stiff/never moves his back" and I'm here like good for you that You don't have metal in your back and bones fused together ?

A lot of their nagging doesn't even make sense, I've just stopped going there, it's a very weird environment for me.

This is so weird why do people do this, I'm South Asian, I have brown skin normally and I tan more when I'm in the sun/in summers also generally and I've been burnt on beaches despite wearing sun protection. Idk this is just a very weird thing to nitpick on I feel ?

also i’m not of mediterranean descendent but what a weird comment to make? we all have skin imperfections and things we don’t like, that shouldn’t even be a thought when it comes to lu. what a weird comparison

referring to him as burnt chicken breast is so demeaning and really twists the meaning of a joke. i’m a quite a humorous person so im always down for a good joke but this seemed awfully picky on something he can’t really help. the burn itself isn’t even that bad, ive had worse from the sun here in the northeast (full disclosure my burn was purely my fault because it was a cloudy day and i let my guard down only to come home the color of a tomato and it took a week for the pain to go away)

american sunscreen is also quite greasy and heavy, many forego wearing it because of sensory issues (i’m not really going to go further on the possible neurodivergent stuff because i feel like that topic has been discussed plenty this week but im just saying it’s a possibility)

and it’s not really a skin imperfections as it is simply a sunburn, something all of us have experienced in varying degrees. luigi could’ve well been wearing sunscreen but maybe not the right spf amount for that kind of uv index. also be mindful sunscreen needs to be reapplied every two hours, not a lot of people know that so maybe that’s what happened here.

luigi is a fitzpatrick type III, similar to myself and other people of mediterranean ancestry. yes we mostly tan, we’re not immune to burns. what will cause us to burn? inadequate sun protection (spf not high enough or sunscreen not applied at all or improperly), unfamiliar uv indexes (this is a big one) the pacific islands and oceania have uv indexes the majority of americans and europeans are simply unaccustomed to.

i believe luigi was either in fiji or hawai’i when that pic of him was taken. it made perfect sense that he burned. i’ve had really bad sunburns from american sun, a fitzpatrick type III would most certainly burn in the pacific islands if they don’t have the proper uv filters to protect them. i think we know luigi wasn’t the biggest sunscreen guy.

the sun is more aggressive in that part of the world.

but don’t make fun of him, seriously. it’s such an odd thing to poke fun at him about and it makes me sad. he would probably love nothing more than to go back to that sun

I have only managed to read three books this year because I’ve been so busy with my studies and Luigi has occupied by mind (not that I’m complaining, I love my man but I need to step up my game 🚶‍♀️).

this dude luigi has invaded my brain, my heart and my soul. this time last year i was already at 30-40 books into my reading challenge, im barely past ten this year. god of malice was the first book i had completed since early april. (im on god of pain now *sadism in here ahhh*)

wind and truth by brandon sanderson came out in december after luigi allegedly did the deed and i haven’t been able to touch it. my mind just can’t seem to focus on literature that requires more than surface level reading

i think luigi would be perhaps a little disappointed in me. i do need to get back on my game

what were they saying about haunting? i understand haunting isn’t for everyone, not only is it dark in sexual themes but it deals with human trafficking and an fmc who is literally terrified of the mmc in the beginning. i feel like a lot of people who try to read haunting are romcom readers and yeah a book like haunting is going to be an extreme shock to them. did u haunting was actually my first dark romance? so i get the apprehension to it ig?

little stranger is 200 ish pages or at least that’s what goodreads tells me so it should be easy to read in the next days and i’ll let u know what i think

there can be bad dark romances, the never king by nikki st. crowe being one of them for me.
