CODY AMLMOST COULDN'T KEEP HIS EYES OFF HER. He tried to focus on the plan instead , letting it settle in his mind. No matter what distractions may be around he wouldn't let anything get in the way of the mission. Even if that distraction came in the form of his nicely dressed partner. Clearing his throat he shrugged , taking a seat if only but a moment. He leaned forward , elbows resting on his knees as he looked up at her. He had no idea what to do , though of course , deep in his mind he knew what he wanted. Swallowing hard he played it off. " we could discuss possible back up plans or whatever you wanted to do. " he was ready to leave , but not yet. Looking at the time he sighed , they couldn't be too early nor could they be late.

She hadn't bothered him , if anything he was glad to be interrupted. he'd happily take another cup of caf over trying to clear his mind. Relaxing just simply wasn't in his vocabulary. He hardly knew her brother having met him a few times. But as of today he'd essentially been on his own.

HE LISTENED TO HER A MOMENT. he enjoyed hearing her perspective , truly he did. He'd never had someone speak to him in such a way. " as much as I appreciate your words , my life will only be filled with war. It's all I'm meant to do. loving and mourning it's . . . not who we are. " there was almost sadness in his eyes if one looked close enough. a part of him wanted more out of life , a small hope that he could be free once , or if the war ended. He looked down at the hand in his arm and sighed , looking down at her a moment. she was kind to him , he couldn't be sure why. he was a man of violence , he fought and killed and yet she showed him something not many did. there was a slight hesitation when he spoke , never so open. " thank you , Senator. I wish everyone saw things the way you did. maybe when this is over my life may take a different course. " he could only hope , even the marshal commander wanted to experience something else other than war but he'd never admit that to anyone , other than her it seemed.
