Day 02: Favorite supporting female character × Winry Rockbell

She had to give him the benefit of the doubt that he'd try his best and that's all that mattered to her. At least he was being honest saying that he wasn't going to make any guarantees but he'd do his best. She just wanted to make sure he was okay and what she would do is make sure he takes care of himself.

Hearing his words however causes her to blink at him curiously. Did he just say he was a Father now? A single Father? She didn't even know if he was seeing anyone at this point. Though it made her all the more curious to hear what she had missed while he was away.

"Nina? You're a Father now? What happened to her Mother?" She was genuinely curious to know more and wondered just what Edward had been doing for the half of the year that he's been away from her.

"We should take this somewhere else. Do you want to go somewhere we can sit and talk?"

"I'm sorry, Winry. I'll try my best, but I can't make any guarantees." A soft sigh left him, but he couldn't help the soft smile that crossed his features, knowing that she still cared so deeply for him.

"I'll do my best to take the best care of it that I can. You won't ever have to worry about me getting into more dangerous fights, at least. I retired from military service a few months ago."

That would probably be relieving for her to hear, though upon hearing that Riza was also there, his eyes brightened up a little more. "Roy's gonna be really happy to see her, I can tell you that much. Oh yeah, one more pretty important thing I should tell you! I'm a dad now, I have an adopted daughter named Nina. She's about to turn seven months old next month, she's already saying a few words here and there, and starting to learn how to walk. I think you'd love to meet her."

"Yes we do! I need to update my wardrobe. These times are different and it looks like they got some new styles I've never tried before." She was excited to get some new things and change it up in the modern times.

"Yes, I did indeed~." She's happily pulling out a credit card as she says that. "I think we could use a girl's day, don't you?"

[hismechanic]

After hearing that she couldn't help but wrap her arms around him. "Idiot...Don't you dare hurt yourself like that again! You're right if it haven't been for Mister Mustang being here with you, this could have been a lot worse! Just..--" She took a deep breath and let it out. She couldn't be mad at him even if she wanted to be. Edward was angry at himself enough as is.

"Please, just don't do that again! Look at me and promise you won't do this to yourself again! Swear it!" She looked at him, serious tone also being worried.

"I am here now and I am going to remake your arm from scratch so the next one I make if you even think about wrecking it I'll never forgive you." She knows that he must have been lonely without her and upset about a lot of things with himself and now that she was here she would make sure he wouldn't feel lonely again.

"You're not alone, you got people who care about you! Not just me, but the others too! Lieutenant Hawkeye and I are both here now! People you care about are here. Just please, don't hurt yourself again, Edward." Her voice was pleading, begging even and she knew that Edward already felt bad for even doing it, but she didn't want to lose this man she had found again.

Ed's happy expression dropped, he still felt ashamed of himself for what he had done, even if Winry was back in his life, he still felt horrible about it. But he knew it was better to be honest with her, and she was already very worried about him.

"...No, this...Wasn't another fight." He murmured, pulling back, though now he couldn't look her in the eye. Looking down at the automail, he flexed his hand slightly.

"I...Wasn't doing well for a while and uh...I did this to myself. It was...The worst I think I've ever been, I'm not proud of it. I thought that if I tore myself apart, nobody else would get hurt, but I was wrong. If Mustang hadn't been there...it might have been a lot worse than just shattered automail and a broken hand. It had been a long time since I've been that angry."

[hismechanic]

"Did someone say shoooopppingggg?" She is here from just the words alone.

"Even a military woman like me could use a girl's day out~. Perhaps it's time to do some shopping."

[hismechanic]

She looked at him, happy and in tears that he was okay and safe, but she took notice of him nuzzling her softly and felt her face heat up a bit. It just felt so surreal that they were together again and it only took a week of being here for her to finally find him again.

"Good. You're stuck with me, dummy." She says as she stayed close to him for a moment, just enjoying the comfort of him being there with her for once. It felt longer than a year, but it was so close to being a year since they last saw each other.

"Do you... Do you need help with your arm? I am sure you've grown over the time you've been gone. I brought everything with me to make sure I could help again." She pulled away to take a look at his automail arm and she could tell that it had been beaten up.

"Edward... What did you do?!" She's already expecting it and seeing the parts seemed to be torn off and put back together again. What did he do to cause it to get that bad?

"Please tell me you didn't get into another fight, Ed! Please?" Well, so much for being happy now she was worried if he's been like this for a while now without a mechanic to fix him up! Good thing she came when she did, she could rebuild it from scratch and brand new too!

She wasn't the only one crying this time around, it seemed. Ed was just as much of a mess as she was, tears streaming down his face though at that point he truly hadn't a care about it.

"I'm sorry! I kept looking for you but I couldn't find you anywhere--!" Yes, he was a blubbering mess, but she'd likely seen much worse from him at that point. After all, it was her that had rebuilt his ability to function in this world, it couldn't get much more personal than that.

It took several long minutes for him to finally calm down, but that didn't mean he was letting go of her anytime soon. Oh no, she was absolutely stuck in his arms now...unless she told him to let go, of course.

He pulled back only to wipe his eyes, soft golden hues looking up at her through soft, dark lashes, pupils slightly dilated as he just...Stared at her. It was so good to see her again, though he was soon nuzzling his head back into her shoulder.

"I won't ever leave your side again...Promise." He murmured, his voice muffled against her slightly.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

She had stood there as she heard him yell out her name once again. Before she knew arms were wrapped around her and she felt her whole body still more. This wasn't a dream! He was here in front of her!

This was actually real, she wasn't waking up, she was still in the place, but in his hold! She felt her body react finally as she could feel the sniffles coming on. Her heart was racing at the fact Edward was here and he was safe!

She finally found him! She was glad she had decided to give the town a better look around because if she hadn't they wouldn't be standing here together again.

Finally wrapping her arms around him, she felt tears stream down her face. "I finally found you, dummy. I thought I lost you forever! I really thought I'd never get to see you again!" Her breath hitched as she cried happy tears.

These weren't sad ones, they were tears of joy and she had promised him that she'd wait till she was reunited with him again. It wasn't with Alphonse, but still, she couldn't help it. She was glad that she found Edward again, to be around him again. That was why she ended up here in the first place to find him and be around him.

"Don't scare me like that ever again!"

"Winry--!"

It was her! It was really her, he couldn't believe it. But that sweet smile and that familiar voice, there was no denying it. He didn't even care how she'd gotten there or why, but he felt his heart leap out of his chest.

There was no second thought as his legs rocketed him forward, running straight to her. Though he slammed on the breaks so he wouldn't knock the poor young woman off her feet, it took mere seconds for him to throw his arms around the taller girl and hug her tight, burying his head into her shoulder with an overjoyed sob.

"You're really here...I can't believe you're really here--!"

Winry had been walking around Domino aimlessly, trying to get a feel of the city that she was still incredibly new to. She knew that she had get used to this world especially since there was so much technology that was much more high tech compared to theirs back in home. Seemed like the years were way ahead of the ones back home so that was a big step since they weren't in the 1900s anymore.

Hearing a familiar voice she could dream of hearing again someday her attention was caught as she looked in the direction of said voice and saw that familiar face and heard her say her name. That couldn't be? Could it? He asked if it was her, and of course she stood there in awe as she realized that this was actually real.

It was Edward! The man she was trying to find in this world to begin with! She finally found him after all this time!

"Yes, I'm Winry. Is that really you? Edward?"

She stood in place and hadn't moved wanting to see if she was just hearing and seeing things. She could only hope that he was real and that this wasn't just a dream.

He'd been on his way to the store to pick up a few supplies that he needed, humming slightly before he was stopped dead in his tracks. He'd spotted a familiar figure, oh he'd know that black tube top and that blond hair anywhere. And those bright, intelligent blue eyes...It couldn't be....Could it?

Edward couldn't believe his eyes, blinking for a few seconds to ensure he wasn't just seeing things, before he tentatively decided to call out. Perhaps it wasn't her, but he had to try.

"..Winry? Is that...Really you...?"
