The discussion about Jeankasa's canon status
This post is an update from this post here. I also refer to the same article again.
___ Mikasa's children are adopted: There are many fans who obviously don't want to see Jeankasa married and think Mikasa should love Eren until the end of her life. That's why Mikasa's children must also be adopted. The reason given is the bandage around Mikasa's wrist, which is supposedly seen on one of the manga pages.
Yes. It's true that Mikasa's mother gave her this Clan-mark when she was little. With the order to pass it on to her children. - But it wasn't said that she should take off her bandages after she has children. And then there is the question of whether she even wants to pass it on.
And look at the child at the grave and the child in Jean's dream. It's the same child. The man next to Mikasa can't be Jean: 1. The man is to tall for Jean: Apparently the man is too tall to be Jean. This picture is taken as evidence:

Of course, if I run on a sloping, mountainous landscape, then I am automatically taller than the person running one level below me. 2. The man is Armin: Supposedly the man is not Jean, but Armin, Mikasa's grief companion. Such images are used to confirm this thesis.

In the first picture, Armin's hair is being blown back by the wind. That's not a hairstyle. And the second picture shows Mikasa and Armin before the timeskip, where Armin still had this piss-pot cut and therefore significantly longer hair.
If we compare Armin and Jean to the man next to Mikasa... Which is more likely? That Armin stands next to Mikasa, who has a lighter hair color and recently had a short army cut, or Jean, whose hair color and hairstyle completely match his last hairstyle? Especially when you look at the proportions. Armin needs to grow a lot. Which is rather unlikely. The flower theory: 1. Mikasa's grave flowers: There are two different versions of the scene where Mikasa lies in the grave. In the manga, she lies in a bed as lilies. she has her hands folded in front of her chest. In the anime, Mikasa wears a ring on her ring finger and her grave is made of roses. These same roses are also on her chest.

The theory of the Antis states that the lilies in Mikasa's grave would represent her virginity. Qoute: They are chosen for both weddings and funerals and symbolize the renewal of the soul. They can represent purity, commitment and rebirth, so they are often used to express compassion. - Source These lilies could just as easily represent Mikasa's wedding to Jean. But it is more likely that they are grave flowers. The same with the white rose. 2. Flowers for Eren's grave: One theory is that Mikasa placed four roses on Eren's grave, which signify that nothing will come between them (the lovers). And yes. This meaning is also correct. This is supposed to be a sign that Mikasa won't have another man other than Eren. - Aside from the fact that this theory is a bit of an asspull, it's not even true. Those aren't four roses on Eren's grave.
I see a tulip and two sunflowers...
The chasety ring theory: If you look at the picture of Mikasa in her grave, you will notice that in the manga Mikasa doesn't wear a ring and in the anime she does. Is that a wedding ring? Antis think it's a chastity ring. Unfortunately, that can't work, because Attack on Titan obviously takes place in Germany. The last date I could record was the year 850. So the 9th century. Source
The “True Love Waits” movement, which also included the chastity ring, only became active in Germany in the 21st century. So in our current era. Source
The wedding ring already existed in the 9th century. However, it was more commonly worn by nobles. Which is why Mikasa didn't wear a wedding ring in the manga. Source In the AOT-Guidebook it´s stated that Mikasa's martial status is single: I don't have the book, but @mizzraynelly wrote the following: The Final Character Guidebook published on June 9th, 2021. No page mentions about Mikasa’s marital status, even her pages. It’s only birthdate, height, weight, and the Corps she belongs to. Other arguments: Other arguments revolve around theories that have not been proven and/or are difficult to refute. This includes statements like: Jean would never betray Eren by marrying Mikasa. Mikasa still loves Eren, because she still wears his scarf and has love lyrics engraved on his gravestone. Or that she had let burried her next to Eren, because she wants to be by his side forever... Jean may have realized that Mikasa loves Eren and respects that. However, he never made a statement that he would not marry Mikasa after Eren's death. I would like to see the proof.
But he often criticized Eren's behavior towards her. For example, when he tried to kill her as a Titan. So it's pretty unlikely that he wouldn't take his chance.
It is not certain where Mikasa was buried. You can only speculate, that her grave is next to Eren's. Therefore, this should not be presented as fact. She wrote the love lyric on Eren's gravestone in her grief. But that doesn't rule out a new love. And falling in love again doesn't automatically mean no longer loving the person who died. That's why she's welcome to walk around with her scarf. ___ Now that's how many theories I've dispelled? And on one topic. I wonder why people can't accept the obvious. Mikasa married Jean and had children with him. - Complete.

I hate when people interpret Eren in this scene as cold and distant towards Historia. Eren cared and respected her. When she began to tear up saying she won’t be able to live with herself if she can’t stop him, it clearly pains him to do this to her—giving her the option between running away or sacrificing herself. Seeing how much in pain she was, regretting ever bringing the topic up, he offers to erase the memory of their conversation (an option he gave her that he never gave the others). Of course, she declined this offer, he respected that. He didn’t fight her on this, he didn’t cross that boundary.
It was always his first priority to make sure his most important people were safe and Historia was a part of that. She was the only person he could truly keep away from the front lines of war (literally, cause she’s the queen). He simply wanted to keep her safe.
“you’re the girl who saved me that day, the worst girl in the world.”

Historia noticing Eren. I wonder if she's thinking of their past conversation..
I genuinely believe Historia had a crush on Eren. It's so obvious to me, I do not know how people don't see it.. TT

Mythology
When I think of mythical characters, I find Eren and Historia always remind me of Loki and Sigyn. Sigyn is usually depicted with long blonde hair. Loki mostly with black or dark brown hair. Loki later becomes an Angetonist and goes into battle against the gods. The earth is also affected. Eren suddenly became the bad guy, because he flattened the globe and ended up fighting against his former allies. Historia was privy to his plans and also supported him in that, in a way she allowed herself to be impregnated by a random man. Just like Sigyn took on the suffering of catching the snake's dripping poison. And if the child, which is supposedly from the farmer, was Eren's... Loki and Sigyn had two children together. The parallels are clear.

So everyone who hates the ending of Attack on Titan is automatically a Mikasa hater? Or the other way around? No. I actually like her. Just not in the Ship EreMika. Because that’s toxic shit to me. I'm more of a Jeankasa fan. And as if the poorly written EreMika ship was the only reason people hate the ending. Let's ignore Ymir's transformation from a tortured slave with a desire for freedom to a person with Stock-Holm-syndrome. Let's ignore the fact that Eren's goal didn't make any sense and that "Mikasa has to kill Eren to save everyone" thing was pretty half-assed. Why did Eren never intend to bulldoze everything outside from Paradise? And that his sacrifice basically achieved nothing...

Chapter 50 describes the scene where Mikasa tries to build Eren up after he blames himself for the mission's failure. Many have interpreted that Mikasa wanted to kiss Eren and he turned away from her. So it doesn't really speak to their dynamic. In Chapter 123, Mikasa lies to Eren about her feelings. Because he believes she has feelings for him, he tries to push her away. He doesn't want Mikasa to suffer from his loss, because he knows how hard it will affect her. But that doesn't mean he has feelings for her. Chapter 138 takes place in Mikasa's dream world. It says nothing about Eren's feelings. Especially because dream Eren behaves differently than the real Eren. He seems depressed and seems to regret not protecting his friends on Paradise. Accordingly, no one could understand Eren's reaction in Chapter 139. It also sounded more blackmailed to me than his real feelings.

I hate statements like that, because they are simply not true. The problem with EreMika is that Mikasa has a fear of loss and put her needs (protecting Eren) above those of the group several times. Plus, she didn't have any character development until near the end. Namely, when she decided to kill Eren. This made her character seem very shallow and selfish throughout the series. In addition, the family relationships between the two played a role. It was difficult to determine whether some events were due to sibling love or romantic feelings. At EreHisu you can classify this very clearly. Eren and Historia have a similar backstory, know how each other feels, and are very similar in personality (according to Isayama). Historia blushed at Eren's compliment, whereupon Mikasa became visibly jealous and separated the two. The reason why Eren became a mass murderer was, because he didn't want to sacrifice Historia. And he trusted her so much that he let her know his plans. When I look for arguments for EreMika, the best that comes out is "He protected her". lol
Or the scene where Eren and Mikasa are almost eaten by titans and she constantly talks to him. Apparently Isayama wanted to let the two kiss, but didn't dare. Or what the argument was for it. Strange that in an interview three years before the end of Attack on Titan, it was said: "Mikasa is more of a mother to Eren than a lover." and after the end "Yes. I actually wanted to let them kiss." As a reader you don't feel a bit like a fool... Just admit that EreMika is canon, because most of your fanbase ships EreMika, Isayama. If you had wanted to make this ship canon from the start, you would have written it much better. Point. Apart from the fact that Ymir was demoted from a slave who wanted to be free, to a slave with Stock-Holm-Syndrome so that they could squeeze even more unnecessary EreMika into the manga. If Mikasa's love for Eren is the same as Ymir's love for King Fritz, then we now have an inbred-pedo-ship. lol Only for it to be destroyed, because Mikasa dared to marry and have children with Jean after Eren's death. Then suddenly it was no longer: Thank you, Isayama. *slime slime*" - but: "Shitty end. Mikasa loves Eren until she dies." That's the great irony of the story.
Instead of approaching the critics and saying. OK. You have your point. But I still thought it was good. They just say: Haha. "You're just jealous, because your ship isn't canon." Yo. But ours is actually better written. Fact. And no toxic inbreeding shit. Jack off. But please don't forget to invite Jean for this. Thanks!

Part 1 5# Erens End I will summarize the next three points of the article. Ultimately, it's about how Mikasa says goodbye to Eren. Honest. I liked this scene. The explanation that only Mikasa could break the cycle by killing Eren was half-assed. Especially since Ymir's unhealthy love for King Fritz and Mikasa's love for Eren could somehow be equated and that had a bit of a strange aftertaste. But this scene was good for Mikasa's character development. Mikasa, who was always attached to Eren and was afraid of his loss, was finally able to break away and take the step that was necessary. And you notice how Mikasa then finds her way back to her old self from her childhood. She has long hair again and looks more lively. That she marries Jean and has children with him. So she is living the life what she actually wanted to live... She never wanted to go to the Survey Corp. She never wanted to fight. She did it so she could be with Eren. But it wasn't her life's dream. But in this scene I don't see any romantic aspect coming from Eren's side. It was all about Mikasa's love for Eren. And yes. He looks at Mikasa before she kills him. If it had been Armin, he would have opened his eyes the same way. And it's illogical, because Eren didn't show any romantic feelings for Mikasa until the end. Apart from the fact that he cares and protects her, like his other friends.
6# The confession and Mikasas farewell No. I don´t want that! Mikasa finding another man...?! I want her to think about me and no one else for the rest of my life! Even after I die... I want to be at the front of her mind for a while! Ten years, at least!! - Citation Manga No... I don´t want that! Mikasa finding another man?! I want her to just think about me for the rest of her life! Even after I die.. I want her to be hung up on me like ten years, at least! - Citation Anime
As we see, Eren's confession was taken one-to-one. Just shortened the amount of speech a little. So I don't know what is supposed to be so different or better about Eren and Armin's conversation in the anime than in the manga? It's the same junk. And it's illogical, because you doesn´t see any romantic action from Erens side. I don't have to say much about the scene at the grave. Mikasa's feelings are clear. And the attacking bird seems more like it wants to steal her scarf than wrap it around her.
~*~ I've already dissected a blog article that was about EreMika vs EreHisu. There, too, the arguments for the couple were rather weak. I have more arguments against the couple than there are arguments for the couple. So I don't think it's wrong to say that Isayama made EreMika canon, because of the money.

EreMika is the second m/f Shipping in the ranking of Japan's most shipped couples from 2024. The first shipping is Levi x Hange and everything else before that, is yaoi stuff. Additionally, the couple is ranked 6th in Fandom's most searched shippings 2023. EreMika are usually always involved in general shipping rankings. So we can assume that this couple is quite popular among fans. But how do I come to the conclusion that Isayama went after the most popular shipping? Eren's "declaration of love" pretty much came out of nowhere for many. One reason for this is that the family aspect was always present. For many, Eren's "declaration of love" came out of nowhere. Still, many EreMika Shippers see that their couple had romantic undertones from the start. Since I don't see these, I used this article as a guide: The Main Agenda – Top 10 Eremika Moments 1# Eren saves Mikasa from the slavers: Eren protects Mikasa from the slavers. This scene is very important, because it represents a turning point in Mikasa's character. As a child, she seemed friendly and open. After she lost her parents, she lost the meaning of life. Eren gave her a purpose in life by telling her to fight. That Moment I remembered, I´v seen this scene before, over und over again. It was happening right in front of me. But I pretended not to notice it. That´s right. This world is... merciless. That moment my body stopped shaking. From that moment on, I could perfectly control myself. I thought I could do anything. Fight. But this scene does nothing for the Shipping EreMika. Eren ultimately protects each of his friends. Rather, Eren is a protector by nature. That's why it doesn't particularly stand out that he protects Mikasa. 2# Mikasa's protective instinct towards Eren The article now addresses the moment where Eren is referred as Mikasa's boyfriend and she refers to him as her family. I can agree that Mikasa has feelings for Eren, that go beyond a family relationship. It wasn't just the commander of the team she was traveling with, who noticed her feelings. Levi and Jean seemed to know it too. Even though she repeatedly refers to Eren as her family, which makes it difficult for the audience to interpret this as a romance, you can clearly see how much she loves Eren. She blushes when asked about her feelings for Eren. She blushed as she and Eren were attacked by the Titans. And she blushed when Eren spoke directly to her about her feelings for him. Because she is in love with him, she is very afraid of losing him. This causes her to act very selfishly on team-missions just to protect him. There are also various scenes in which Mikasa holds Eren back and slows him down. Isayama even gave an interview about it.
This interview comes from "Gekkan Shingeki no Kyojin, Volume 3" and must have come out three years ago. 3# Cave-Scene and Protection Maybe I'm particularly blind or stupid. But I don't see a moment in the cave, where Eren prioritizes Mikasa's protection or puts a special mark on her words. Rather, it is Levi who motivates him to try hardening and it is Historia, who helps him to see meaning in his life again. One could perhaps cite the scene where Mikasa, Eren and the rest of the Survey Corps are attacked by the Titans. Isayama said in an interview that he wanted to let Eren and Mikasa kiss. But was to embrassed to do it. However, this interview took place after the manga ended. It's strange that three years earlier Isayama wrote that Mikasa was like a mother to Eren and then wrote: they should actually kiss. At what point did Eren make the leap from mother to lover? Especially since Mikasa's protective instinct doesn't diminish throughout the series. The scene could also be listed, in which Eren happens to be a Titan and protects Mikasa at the right moment, before she is eaten by the Titan. I thought the scene was beautiful, because she still wanted to stay alive despite Eren's loss. However, this was accidental, because Eren, as a Titan, did not recognize humans and almost killed Mikasa. It was only through Armin that he came back to his senses. 4# The timeline moment I left out the next part, which is about Mikasa exepting Eren's decision to go to the Survey Corp and always protecting him. We know Mikasa has feelings for Eren. For me, however, it's a one-way street. And I'll also skip the part after that about the eye contact between Eren and Mikasa, while the Survey Corp is attacked by titans. Yes. They had eye contact and Mikasa was certainly a motivation for Eren the fight the Titans. But he looks more like a scared bunny without blushing and turned away from her. It's unclear to me at what point the two should have kissed. Next is the moment when Mikasa has a dream about what it would be like, if Eren spent his final years with her. I honestly don't understand why they had to put this scene in the manga. Just like the aspect that Mikasa is Princess Azumabito. It didn't contribute anything to the progression of the story. Likewise the what-if moment with Ymir and her children. Anyway, it's a dream that has nothing to do with Eren and his feelings for Mikasa. He seems more depressed to me. It's important to note why he asked Mikasa, if she had any feelings for him. He wanted Mikasa to take off her scarf and let him go. That's why he called her a slave and told Luise to take the scarf away from her. And that's why he reacted so emotionally coldly towards Armin when he asked him about Mikasa. That doesn't mean he had feelings for her. That just means he care about her. Armin and Mikasa were the people who were always closest to him. Part 2

Tr: "Erehisus needs to stop saying that Isayama changed the ending for money, it’s okay to admit you guys were wrong all along, it’s not Isayama’s fault that you guys were too focused on theorizing about who the father of Historia’s child was when the point of her pregnancy wasn’t who the father of her baby was. You guys can still enjoy erehisu even if they are not canon or just a crackship."

In German "It is, what you think" is writtes as "Es ist, was du denkst." It could say "Es ist so." (It is like this) Ot it could say "Es ist das, was du daraus machst." (It's what you make of it) Although I would probably think of the first one when I read it. It´s more logical.
I just want to post this again.
“George Wada confirmed Krista and Ymir to actually be a couple“
This is the result of a mistranslation, according to the fan account of a German fan, George Wada’s word was mistranslated.
So, let me get that Krista and Ymir questions out of the way first. When asked if Krista and Ymir are a couple, there was a pause from Wada and then he said, from how I understood it, “It is up to your imagination.” What the translator translated however was “It is what you think”. In German this can be interpreted as a definite yes. What I think on this is, that Krista and Ymir being a couple is as much open to the fan’s interpretation as Hanji’s gender is.
Source
And if what was said from a general producer in 2014 can be considered as a reliable source then, why no one says anything about this? Director Masashi Koizuka was talking about YH as close friends, not a couple that “confirmed”. The image below was screencapped from official video interview in 2017.
