Suddenly, the snap of a broken branch caught his attention, and he spotted the man watching him. Cautiously, Tarc approached the man, unsure of how he would be received. However, the man greeted him warmly and spoke to him about his family and life on the island. Tarc listened as the old man spoke. The old man warned Tarc about a nearby clan that controlled the island, emphasizing the importance of staying on their good side. Tarc listened carefully, grateful for the advice.
