Sarah's eyes were on you as JJ twirled you around the loud music ringing in her ears. You were so free spirited, she envied that about you. You didn't care who was watching or what people thought, you were your own person you didn't need anyone.

She liked that but maybe she liked it just a bit too much.

Yep, Sarah Cameron had a crush. She almost felt as if she was in middle school again, trying to get the attention of her crush but she couldn't help it, you were perfect.

The problem was you were with JJ and she was supposed to be in love with John B, she was supposed to kiss him without thinking about how different it would feel if she was kissing you, she was supposed to be able to have double dates with you and JJ without watching you the whole time, she was supposed to be happy with what she had and not be wanting something else.

Something else.

You weren't just something else, you were the person that made her heart jumped when you smiled at her, you were the person who made butterflies erupt in her stomach when you said her name, you were the person who made her feel like she was flying when she was around you.

You were everything John B was supposed to be for her.

You were the plot twist in her and John B's love story.

She wasn't sure when it happened but all she knew was that you were so close but she could not have you. You were not hers to have, you were JJ's.

Never in her life has she ever been jealous of JJ until now, oh how did he get such a wonderful person and she was stuck with...John Booker Routledge. There was nothing wrong with John B, everything was right just nothing felt right with him.

She would've expect him to notice her clear attachment to his best friend's girlfriend or perhaps...he was just as attached to his best friend as she was to his girlfriend.

Anyone could see it if they looked hard enough, John B had a clear jealousy of you JJ thought it was because John B thought you were taking the time JJ was supposed to be spending with him but Sarah could see right through.

It takes a simp to know a simp.

But she never said anything because the more John B was forcing JJ to spend time with him the more she got to spend time with you.

Oh how she enjoyed spending time with you, the feeling of standing on the warm sand next to you, the hot summer breeze hitting you and the sun complimenting your skin just right. Sometimes she found herself dreaming about you, she dreamt about your warm skin against hers, how it would feel to drag her tongue across your warm skin.

"Would you shut up?" you asked though you giggled a bit burying your face in his neck "She probably just wants to dance, I mean it's not her fault John B was busy tonight"

"Well she's the one who wanted to third wheel on my date"

"We're at a party JJ this is hardly a date"

"Yeah well she 's cutting in on my one on one time with you just because she has a crush" you sighed looking at him

"Would you just let it go J? she doesn't have a crush on me, I would know if she did I mean I knew when had a crush on me" you smirked "You used to get all blushy when I so much as even looked at you"

JJ blushed before mumbling a shut up and burying his face into your neck beginning to place kisses on your neck. You couldn't help it glancing over at Sarah to see her in fact looking at you, you sent her smile not wanting to be rude.

You didn't believe Sarah had a crush on you, I mean she had no reason to have a crush on you. John B often talked about how happy the couple was plus you were in a happy relationship with JJ, you liked him a lot and he was an amazing boyfriend.

You liked Sarah, she was a great friend and she was kind to you but did you like her more than a friend?

That was territory you were not ready to go on, you took a breath

You were hoping JJ was wrong, you wouldn't know what to do if he was right.

JJ couldn't help but huff at the fact that you outside right now with Sarah. He had plans to hang out with John B today and you had planned to stay home and watch some movies, he asked you if you wanted to say and you continue to tell him no because Sarah offered to take you shopping.

You sighed pulling the tight dress up your body, it was pink and tight like really tight and you were sure everything in the store was made for the petite girls rather than you, you had tits and an ass and got knows you weren't skinny, you rolled your shoulders back mumbling a whatever to yourself yanking off the dress.

"It's for my friend" Sarah pointed at you and the woman looked at you eyes shining in disgust as her eyes run up your body "Oh..."

"Well we don't sell sizes for...fatter girls" you felt a pain in your heart at her words "This shop is more for the petite and beautiful, you know sizes under Large" she spoke with a disgusting smile at her face, Sarah's jaw dropped she actually couldn't fucking believe this was happening. "I don't mean to offend you Ms. Cameron, I'm just saying your friend is bigger, I mean she has a lot of fat in the chest area" you wrapped your arms around your chest tears filling your eyes "And her thighs are just-" Sarah cut her off

"First of all Bitch, that fat on her chest those are called tits, Maybe if you had some your husband wouldn't have fucking left you for his yoga instructor , Second if you ever talk to my friend like that again I will hurt you" Sarah yelled and the woman stared at her in shock.

"Ms. Cameron I was just saying-"

"Well stop 'just saying' and do what the fuck you're paid to do and that is get me a dress in a bigger size or else I will tear this fucking place apart" You had never seen Sarah so aggressive before, the woman stood up straight.

"If you're going to talk to me like that then I'm afraid I'm gonna have to kick you and miss Piggy out" your heart dropped and you were already out of the store before Sarah could say anything.

You quickly wiped the tears that were running down your face. You breathed out, you just wanted to go home so that's exactly what you did. You laid in your bed sobbing into your pillow hoping to just cry yourself to sleep.

"Y/N!" Your mother called "What?" You croaked out "A friend is here to see you!"

"I don't want to see anyone" you said but you already heard footsteps coming up the stairs and you sighed burying your face in your pillow.

A part of you hoped it was JJ

but another part of you hoped it was Sarah.

"Y/N?" You heard Sarah's voice on the other side of the door as she knocked softly on the door. "Leave me alone" you sniffled but she twisted the knob opening the door to your bedroom to see you turned away from her with your face in your pillow.

"I'm sorry about what happened" she whispered walking over to you. She sighed when you didnt answer lifting up the blanket and climbing under the blanket with you. She reach out rubbing your back "That lady was just being a bitch"

You sniffled "You're beautiful Y/N" she whispered "Absolutely amazing like a fucking goddess" her hand slipped under your shirt her cold hands rubbing your bare back "Can you look at me?" She asked and you hesitated for a second before turning towards her. She looked at you and her heart broke a little at your puffy eyes and tear stained cheeks but she sent you a smile brushing some hair out of you face.

"See look at this pretty face" she wiped your cheeks "You are beautiful that bitch was the ugliest thing, she look like a fucking paper bag" You couldn't help but let out a laugh at her words.

"Look me in my eyes and tell me you don't feel anything for me" you refused to look at her because deep down you knew your eyes would tell her all she needed to know. "Look at me"

"Sarah you need to leave now" you went to go to the door but she grabbed your wrist pulling you back "Look at me"

I can’t just scroll past all of these posts when it’s what fills up the tag. Imagination and reality are two different things but y’all take it to a whole new level. I'm scrolling through Tumblr in search for some well-written fic with my favorite characters and all I see is fics that are starting with warnings such as: dark!fic, non-con, degradation, possessive behavior, breeding kink, non-con/rape (like WTF!!!???), forced pregnancy (is that turning people on?!!), daddy kink (ugh), and all the other...you get the idea. And I'm wondering, what the hell happened to people?

Fanfiction used to be about expanding borders of our imagination, about creativity, writing our own stories with the characters we love, it used to be written with care to the smallest details, engaging with multilayered characters and plot. It was about building on the known lore but with the addition of our own take on it. Characters were treated with care and genuine respect. Fanfiction writers cared about their work and source material. I know that there are still writers like that out there, writers who are writing fanfiction which is better than some books. Please if you read this...don't ever change <3

Sadly lately more and more I see stuff that is well...pure porn. Which butchers our beloved characters for a sake of some dark fantasy. I'm sorry, I do get that this is a FANfiction but pains me when writers take e.g. Steve Rogers aka Captain America, aka one the purest and most noble and virtuous characters in pop culture, and turn him into the rapist and sadist. Same story with Dean Winchester, Bucky Barnes, Bruce Wayne, John Wick freaking Peter Parker. Like guys, come on!! Let's strip away all that is good and pure and noble about these characters and turn them into abusers. Why? Is morality not trendy in 2021? Is that what we became? I'm the kind of person who is fascinated by people, truly interested in psychology and sociology and stuff I see lately baffles me. I'm scrolling through and reading some of the aforementioned fanfiction (research) and I cannot help but wonder what happened to us? When people got so dark and twisted? When did we lose our virtues?

Often I see warnings related to lack of consent/rape/forced pregnancy. Is that really turns you on guys? If yes, damn!! you really need to work on your self-esteem! I know it's just fanfiction, just a fantasy but often than not fanfiction writers use the pronoun you in their work. You really fantasize about being abused, treated like a piece of shit, like a worthless thing, talk down, forced to do things you don't want to do, raped, impregnated by force? Really? I am a rape victim, it wasn't a dark alleyway, it was a man who I loved, and let me tell you this sisters, THERE IS NOTHING GLAMOURUSE IN BEING RAPED OR USED BY A MAN WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT.

I get that people have different fantasies, I do understand that. And it's not like I'm a prude, I enjoy a bit of kink. But these tags...it's just shocking. In a world where women are loudly fighting for equality of opportunity, equality in the workplace, equality of payment of jobs accessibility here on Tumblr women are subjects of their abusive men. Where is logic in that? In my country, women and men started huge manifestations because our government forbidden by law any type of abortion no matter what...here on Tumblr we write about forced impregnation.

When did we swapped writing about strong female characters, writing to inspire ourselves and our readers for writing about women who are being abused by and subjected to men? Why?
