BRILLIANT SCENE/DIALOGUE

Dokuz yaşındayım, yıl 1961. Annem benim doğum günüm için pasta yapmış. İlk defa o zaman mum üfleyip bir dilek tuttum. Dileğim de şu; o sıralar Yuri Gagarin uzaya çıkan ilk insan olacak. Ben de dedim ki ne olur beni de yanına alsın. O kadar inandım ki dileğimin gerçekleşeceğine, ben bir çanta yapıp beklemeye başladım. Güya Sovyet Elçiliği'nden gelip alacaklar beni. Ama sağdan soldan duyuyorum onlar komünist diye. Diyorlar ki; aman komünist onlar. Olsun diyorum, ben de komünist olurum. O sıralarda, bizim giriş katında üniversite öğrencileri oturuyor. Annem onlara da komünist diyor. Biliyorum onlar bizim kömürlükte kitap saklıyor. Ben gittim, yürüttüm bir tane. Nazım Hikmet’in şiirleri. En kısasını buldum ezberledim. Dedim ki; şimdi Ruslar gelirse, ben bu şiiri okurum onlara. Onlar da der ki; tamam bu da bizden, götürürler beni. Neyse… Tarih 12 Nisan. Uzay mekiği fırlatılacak, Vostok 1. Ama hâlâ gelen giden yok. Ben diyorum unuttular herhalde beni. Mekik fırlatıldı, herkes dua ediyor; mekik atmosferi geçsin, uzaya çıksın diye. Bir ben diyorum ki; yarı yolda dursun dönsün beni alsın. Belki bir de Amerikalılar, Vostok’un uzaya çıkmaması için dua ediyordu. Neyse… Bütün gün radyonun başında içimden o şiiri okudum:

Başım köpük köpük bulut, içim dışım deniz, ben bir ceviz ağacıyım Gülhane Parkı'nda, budak budak, şerham şerham ihtiyar bir ceviz. Ne sen bunun farkındasın, ne polis farkında.

Ne zaman bu şiiri okusam uzaya gitmiş kadar olurum. Altmış beş yaşıma geldim. Geçen doğum günümde yine bir dilek tuttum, çocuk gibi. Yine imkânsız bir dilek tabii. Ne diledim biliyor musunuz? İyi bir insan olmayı.

Felt sorry for May in this scene.. both her and Jemma lost their loved one.. And here she seemed both relieved and sad 😔

Daniel Holden: What do I think? Well, I think I have looked at this painting for so long in a in a book that somehow my brain has trivialized it. And, uh, now as I stand here in front of the real thing, I feel, if anything, disappointment.

Peggy: Oh, that's too bad.

Daniel Holden: Well, not at the painting itself. More at my brain, I guess.

Peggy: I think the brain's afraid of being in a state of constant wonder. It's for safety reasons or something.

Daniel Holden: I suppose it's inevitable.

Peggy: Usually by the time we're four.

Daniel Holden: Then there's the the issue of great expectations.

Peggy: Something the brain doesn't seem the least bit interested in protecting us from.

Daniel Holden: [chuckles] No.

Peggy: Well, I think we should reinstate wonder, banish expectation.

Daniel Holden: I concur.

I read alot of comments about Jemma’s reasons to leave in season 2 (most of them was blaming her) she too has been through alot and didn’t know how to handle all these changes.. I think this separation in season 2 was necessary for both of them.. they needed to sort out all these changes with themselfs before being able to repair their broken relationship (Fitz needed to get better on his own and Jemma needed a space to sort out her feelings).. In my opinion, she didn’t just leave beacuse she felt this is for the best, but Fitz kinda of pushed her away with him interupting every gesture she make towards him as “she thinking he is useless/broken”.. I think Fitz himself (even if he didn’t relaised that) didnt want her to see him in this situation..

I’ve seen a fair few people who were disappointed that during the pod fight there wasn’t discussion given to Jemma’s reasons for leaving after his injury. But we know that has already been discussed off screen before, he knows why she left and that’s what in this situation is irritating him so much. She left because she thought it “was best for him”. She didn’t discuss it with him, didn’t ask his opinion and lied about what she was doing.

I’ve been quite vocal on social media since S2 that i didn’t agree with how she handled that. Yes we now know why, yes she thought what she was doing was for the best. But by not asking Fitz what he thought, she removed all agency from him and treated him like he was broken.

And that is most definitely a holier than thou attitude. So yes i can see Fitz’s point.

AOS episode was the absolute Best.

This episode have some of the best writing I’ve seen on a tv show.. it really has it all..it was PERFECTLY written..

-I am glad that we finally got to see Jemma’s coping mechanism with all these trauma (which was brilliantly written and delivered) but I really hoped if they would give Jemma space to explain herself to Fitz about her “ditching” him in season 2.. I am still kinda of pissed that Jemma’s feeling was overlooked in season 2 and this episode seemed like a good way to redeem that but unfortunately it wasn’t taken.

-To be honest I didn’t expect that Fitz catching up with what he missed (which was a lot to deliver and a lot to take in) will be delivered this perfectly. The whole cast did an outstanding work in this Ep.. I also loved that we got to see not only Fitzsimmons but glimpse of other characters and how they was affected in these flashbacks..

-Fitz witnessing a hidden side of Jemma was also a huge step for their relationship.. This will help Fitz come to terms with all of the damage from the framework.. And I am hoping that in later eps we will got to see a more open Jemma towards her disturbing feelings instead of repressing them..

-loved Fitz with 7.5 year old Jemma scenes 🤣
