I was looking forward to that little reveal so much man. I just love it so so so much when love is explored in ways other than romance, but also not called anything else other than "love." Because that's what it is! Love for pets, for food, for colors, friends, life- anything!

I don't think it'd much of a spoiler to say that's a really big part of the AU. Like yeah, fernrey n all that, but the friendship and healing that comes with frenrey is what makes it special to me. That, and the entire science team is full of love, no matter how chaotic and murder-y they are lol. One of my friends has done several thorough analysis of the series through that lens and I wanted to incorporate it.
