blushing softly she shrugged, accepting a compliment made their throat want to close up in anxiety. “ cute as he is i’m not entire sure he’s got the vibe we’re going for, the carefree energy goes out the window as soon as you start worrying about getting pooped on. ” a sheepish grin on her lips as she nodded taking a step towards him, taking the bird from his hands and walking it back outside to let it go. “ thanks for being my bird wrangler, i’m keeba and if you’re wondering, yes things like this happen to me often. ” 

“ ha, guess you’re right about that. although after the movie bird box people have seemed to become a lot more receptive to birds than they have been, so really, people might feel a bit of reassurance if they came in and saw a bird just chilling. they’d know there was no trouble to be had. ” alexander laughed slightly at his theory as he watched her let the bird go. “ ah, it’s no problem. nice to meet you, keeba. i’m alex. ” he extended his hand, wondering if they would actually shake it or not; he wasn’t quite sure what the code of conduct was with them. “ i wish things like this would happen to me. once someone did somehow leave the door at my place too long and a raccoon came in, but well, that’s about it. ”

“it’s not that i don’t enjoy being alone,” she started on the phone, hating the fact that she had to go through this every single week with not only her psychiatrist, but also the company mental health advisor. “but i rather be back in new york, in the midst of all the action..” she listened as they told her it was still not a possibility for awhile and sighed before shrugging and hanging up, not really saying anything else. that’s when she noticed someone standing nearby and looked up. “how much of that did you hear?”

alexander’s eyes quickly shifted to the ground as he heard the other speak to him; he didn’t want to come off nosy, but the fact they were both standing in the same area made it nearly impossible not to hear most of it. “ honestly ?  all of it, but also, makes you feel any better i wasn’t really paying actual attention. it was just kind of like a bee in the background. ”

     he offered a smile to the other, running his hands through kratos to try and get him to calm down.  “ i might spoil him a bit too much. he loves being caressed and getting strangers to become his friends even if it means using his force, which isn’t always great. ”  kiwoo spoke, with a small laugh following.  “ oh, by all means! but expect him to get attached and demand more. ”

“ i’d be mad cool if that actually happened. ” alexander kneeled down, getting on the animal’s level as he graciously petted him. he continued petting the dog as he looked up, continuing on with the conversation. “ i wish my cat actually liked to be pet. that’s really the biggest reason i got a pet, ha. no one warned me that cat’s are kind of anti-social !  only time she really wants to be petted is when she wants some food. once she’s hungry she becomes my best friend and won’t leave my side. ”

face burning when she looked over at the stranger, she couldn’t place where but she’d seen him somewhere. she wasn’t sure if she was embarrassed because he’d caught her talking to a bird or because he felt like he needed to help her but she forced her discomfort down and nodded, “ please. ” a soft smile on her lips as she moved back, now starting to regret getting shelves too high for her to reach without a ladder. “ usually they just listen to me and go but this guy seems to want to hang out. ”

“ i can definitely see why. ”  alexander had admired the building the moment he’d stepped in, something about it was incredibly calm and inviting. “ maybe the little guy will just become your mascot. ” he chuckled as he approached the bird calmly, “ shit like this happened all the time back in new york expect the pigeons aren’t really as cute as the birds out here. ” extending his arms, with cupped hands he cautiously grabbed the bird. “ want to do the honors of setting him free ? ”

is oliver-titus hanging out of a tree by his legs to get some shot that he is going to insist this is the only way to get it? yes, yes he is. does he care? no, absolutely not. it was going well until someone walked into the frame. “hey! get out of my frame! i’m trying to get some work done here!” he yelled from his tree.

alexander was casually walking through the local park; wanting to get a little bit of fresh air before he had to spend the next two hours in some snooze fest of a class that he didn’t too much care about. he was minding his own until the sound of a voice, unaware of who or where it was coming from, startled him back into reality, “ oh, shit !  ” he jumped back, still not certain where the person was, “ ummm .... ” alexander spoke into the air, “ can you like tell me where exactly your frame is ?  like how far do i need to walk out in order to prevent from being captured ?  ” he questioned, looking around at his surroundings in attempts to see the other.

two knocks on the vending machine hadn’t been enough for it to spill out the chocolate bar florencia had been craving, meaning that maybe a hard kick wasn’t the way to go –– but she was moody, tired, and had skipped lunch to finish an article in time. she wouldn’t give up easily. but just as she struck her foot against the machine with the strength she’d acquired after years of kickboxing, a person appeared in the previously empty hallway, making her face them with a blank face and a shaky breath as she tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ears. “it ate my money,” she explained sheepishly, her previous anger fading into embarrassment. 

alexander stood shocked and slightly scared (  he’d admit it if she’d ask )  as he watched the other and her attempts at retrieving a stuck bar. letting out a laugh he dug around in his pockets, grabbing some loose coins and a dollar bill from the depths. “ let’s see if this’ll work.  ”  he reached around her, not wanting to move in front of her view as he slid the money into the machine. once he’d pushed the corresponding buttons, not only did the stuck candy drop, but he received another as well. “ here you go. two for one. ” he smirked handing her both the sweets, “ looks like you need ‘em more than i do. ”

“okay, can i be annoying and ask you for a huge favor?” she leaned over her laptop, artie felt bad, but after the twentieth time of rewriting this action, she was fed up with it and needed to see it done before her eyes so she could actually get it right. “there’s a coffee in it for you if you do this.”

“ honestly, not a big coffee fan, sometimes tea is in the equation, but not a real big fan of those kinda drinks in general. but i’ll help you out without the bribe. well that is if i can. let me not promise something i’m not capable of, would hate to let you down !  ”

     kratos was a big fluffy dog that loved people. and the thing about dogs? well, they were unpredictable. kiwoo praised himself in having taught him many things, but he still hadn��t been able to teach him to calm down. surely, his dog wasn’t always crazy, but it was one of those days when kratos just decided to be wild. kiwoo wasn’t able to stop him from running towards the first person he saw and jump at them, practically begging for being petted. “ oh, fuck! ”  he didn’t curse often, but it just slipped as he followed the dog and pulled him back, telling him to sit.  “ sorry about that! did he hurt you? ”

“ oh no, not at all !  it’s totally fine, my dude. ” alexander’s eyes were still focused on the panting pup as the words came from his mouth.  “ i totally get it. had a dog back home who would get so  excited when anyone would come near. its just what they do, yeah. ” his attention being turned from the dog to the human in front of him, “ mind if i pet him ?  ”

a grateful smile blossomed on the face of clara as one plant was relieved from her load, and she quickly pulled her keys out and unlocked her car, stashing her plant on the seat of her passenger side and the bag on the chair before turning to her savior and offering to take the other plant. “thank you so much,” she started, truly gracious. “s’mores cupcakes? my son says he needs them in his life, and what kind of mom am i if i don’t try.” she said with a laugh, because her kids were personalities.

“ s’mores cupcakes ?  those sound bomb as hell. your son is really onto something. now they sound like something i need in my life. you’ll have to let me know how they end up turning out. maybe share your recipe if it goes good. i’d probably have to put my own spin, baking has always been one of those things culinary school really just sat back on. i’ve pretty much just had to teach myself on that. ”

clara was, well, carrying two plants in her arms and had a bag slung in the crook of her elbow with various baking ingredients. she walked down main street, eager to get to her car and unload her things. fumbling, she managed to get near where her car was parked, but found herself unsure of how to proceed. “excuse me, could you do a girl a favor and hold a plant for a second?” there really was no other course of action at this point, the plants were in ceramic pots and she didn’t want to chip one by dropping it.

“ definitely no problem.” with empty hands alex eagerly reached out grabbing onto one of the plant’s that clara had been carrying. the young man held it patiently while he waited for the other to get her things settled,  “ so, what you gonna be baking ? ” alexander questioned, his eyes immediately having drawn towards the ingredients that he’d seen her get squared away.

it was a sunny day, well sunny for winter at least and she wanted to leave the door open to let the sun in. what she wasn’t expecting was for a bird to fly in while she was in the middle of a reading, “ i - uh… ” she was dumbfounded, part of her needed to get this bird out of her store but she didn’t want to be rude. “ give me a second. ” walking towards the bird who simply peered up at her from the perch on top of her bookshelf. “ um, can you leave ? ” it must have seemed a little odd, a grown woman and a bird having a conversation but she was too gentile to try and shoo it away or hurt it. “ no really, you can’t stay here dude. ”

alexander had just finished the last class he had for the day, and fortunately, he’d delegated enough that he wasn’t need at his restaurant which meant he had nothing, but time to kill. homework would be done later, he had told himself once he stepped foot off campus, he wanted to explore the sights of his city. although he’d been there for five years, every day felt new to him. there was something different to see every single day and as he walked down the streets, the theory was proved to him. he’d watched as the bird flew into one of the town’s most popular shop’s, one that he’d never actually step foot in, but felt that now was a better time than never. his energy immediately softened as he entered; feeling a calm presence, but also an uncertainty from being in an unfamiliar place. “ umm ... do you need some help ?  ” he asked, his eyebrow raising as he glanced at the other, “ i can help you get the little fella out of here. ”
