William T. Spears' Character & Personality

William is a Grim Reaper who's part of the Management Division of the Grim Reaper Dispatch. He's an aloof and dignified man. William strictly observes rules and formalities. As such, he expects the same from others. William performs his duties with diligence, precision and impartiality. He doesn't take kindly to those who cause trouble, particularly if said trouble forces him to apologize for their actions and work overtime. Beyond this, William has no qualms about inflicting injuries on others. He deems demons disgusting creatures and calls them a variety of disparaging names. Nevertheless, William's decorum outweighs his distaste for demons.

me: kuroshitsuji is a very dark series with lots of morally complex characters and the series is very serious despite the comedic moments near the start of the series being more prevalent

also me: rotates grell sutcliffe in my head for being the best little blorbo to ever exist

I believe Grell must have genuinely loved Angelina, despite how tragically they ended. Thinking about how Grell risked her entire lifestyle/career as a reaper to support her, and even disguised herself as a plain man to be at her side when we know how much she values her feminine expression. If that’s not some form of love, I don’t know what is. The moment of madness when she murdered her must be something that deeply haunts her, and disturbs her when no one is looking. I doubt anyone else ever has or ever will come as close to understanding Grell’s heart like Angelina did. Hoping someday we’ll get more insight into Grell’s feelings regarding their relationship and how it affects her in the present.

“’Demon’ will suffice, or ‘Devil’.” He answered, “’Noxious Beast’ even, if you must – I recall that was a favourite of your colleague.”

Ah, yes, William did like to call them that.

“And you- ’Miss’ Sutcliff, is it now?” the demon inquired, turning the subject back away from itself.

“It always was, just now it’s official.”
