Mayflower went to make an apology for bringing up the subject of his father, but immediately silenced herself when Kili caught her eyes. The sadness in those eyes... Out of politeness, she would not say that such sadness was the exact reason she considered these traditions barbaric. That would just stir up more argument and, for once, Mayflower just did not feel like putting up the fight.
“I...personally still disagree with you, but now is not the time for that discussion.” She started slowly, a softer tone in her voice as she avoided his gaze. “It is, however time for me to put on some tea....You dwarves do drink tea, correct?” She got up to leave, stopping in the round doorway to look back. “...I am sorry about your father.”

Milo nearly shrieked when the new voice spoke up. Toppling over in his attempt to both back away from and turn to see the owner of the voice. Looking up from his newly found seat in the dirt, the halfing stared in awe at the being before him. “...U-Ummm....I’m w-watering some p-plants?...Who are you?”

Milo hummed as he set about tending to the garden. With Mayflower moving out and Malva off on her own adventure, he was the last child left to watch over the plants for their parents. Milo was actually quite pleased about that fact. Tending the garden was his favorite hobby especially since it made him feel closer to the green goddess. The garden was his alter, the soil his pew. Nothing felt better than to work the cool earth under a golden sun. Perhaps if he had someone to share this beauty with, it would be better.
