Hello! I'd like to start off by saying that I absolutely love the idea of this roleplay, and I will definitely be applying to join very soon. But before I do, I have a quick question, regarding your last answered ask: what exactly are prompts for applications, and how do they work? Do they substitute the written application, or is the application still necessary to send in as well? Thanks in advance!

    We can’t wait to have you with us! Prompts are mainly for writers who need an inspiration boost for the muse they’re applying for. This can be for the biography, or even just a few ideas for the writing samples. The application is still necessary, as the prompts are just to help guide writers.

     ex. Say you were applying for Arcus Shacklebolt. If you sent in an ask requesting prompts for his character, we’d reply with something like this:

How does Arcus feel now that his father, Kingsley, is now the Minister of Magic? Is he proud of his dad, or does he resent the changes that he’s making?

What has been his experience with the discriminatory groups forming within Hogwarts? Has he been asked to join the Slytherin-Pureblood regime? If so, how did he respond?

With all of the new attention he’s getting, what has the sudden change done to Arcus? Is the popularity going to his head?

Where was he during the war? We know his father was fighting, but did Arcus flee? Did he fight alongside Kingsley?

Since the beginning, his family’s filthy wealth and his pureblood status gave him a pass into the darker cliques of Slytherin house. He refuses to go home over breaks, not wanting to deal with his dysfunctional family. His father has been having an affair since Alecto was 11, and he doesn’t want to acknowledge the guilt over not telling his mother.

i was going to apply but i dont like that you accept as you go. why do you even have an app count if as soon as someone applies you take them off the open list? i dont think its fair that no one else even gets a chance. you dont have a plot up yet and you are giving all the characters away. how did anyone even write an application with out the plot?

Okay, so a couple points to address here. To start, yes, we do acknowledge that some things might be a bit confusing, and have had a couple other people reach out about the bios and the open/taken status. However, our sidebar currently has a mini disclaimer on it to all viewers that the roleplay is still a Work In Progress, meaning, that everything is not going to be perfect.

Acceptances: Also found on our hefty sidebar, where you will find that the first round of acceptances date is To Be Announced. We have not posted any official acceptances, and the only two characters that are on our first and only app count post, are both still there. I just checked both bios for the two characters, and both are still tagged as ‘OPEN’. 

Plot: Yes, we had a couple people reach out with that same question, and I responded back to every single one of them, apologizing that the plot had not been up yet. All they had to do was ask, and I sent them a long list of bulletin points for the plot.

So, every single point you made was a wrong assumption. There are 4 people working behind the scenes, and have a total of 5 characters between us. That is about the only thing on the main that could give off the impression we are accepting as we go, but everything else could have been found right on the page, or asked through inbox. You know what I don’t think is fair? Is that you were so quick to assume the worst, of people you don’t even know. Not cool, my friend!

Gabriel is self-confident and deliberate in everything he does. He hates messes and untidiness, and as such the Slytherin common room is always in a state of organization. While he is extroverted, he doesn’t overdo his social obligations. He’s reserved, yet still knows how to charm his way into someone’s good side. His charismatic nature is known to hurt people, and often circles back to bite him in the arse.

Even though he’s cocky and sometimes cruel, Gabriel is good at listening when someone he cares about needs him. He’s extremely protective, whether it be of his friends or his little sister. He resents talkative people, and doesn’t seem to mind causing a ruckus among cliques in the school. Gabe is an outrageous flirt, among both genders - not seeming to care if someone dislikes his preferences. He’s extremely outspoken and opinionated, and doesn’t shy away from challenges.

Growing up in a fully magical family (those who weren’t magically inclined had been cast out), Gabriel was mostly on his own. His mother was constantly ill, bedridden for most of her later life. His father was unemployed, though for the sake of his sickly wife, claimed to work for the Ministry of Magic. However, in reality, he was in the Dark Lord’s ranks. Due to this, Gabriel was exposed to the Dark Arts far before he should have been. Sebastian Hayes was an alcoholic, and was only there for his children when he saw fit. Gabriel and his twin sister, Brynn, grew up taking care of their mother and themselves. Brynn has always been Gabe’s little star, despite the fact that he’s only a few minutes older. She was a gift who had given him a reason to live during his darkest moments.

Even though he’s a Slytherin, he doesn’t fit into the evil, good-for-nothing stereotype that the Slytherin house had been assigned. His mother and father were both from the house of the snake, and as such, he’d practically begged the sorting hat to put him there. While it would have been his proper house, a Gryffindor son would have resulted in a less than savory reaction from his family. During the reign of Severus Snape and the Dark Lord’s servants, Gabriel assisted in leading students to the room of requirement in order to hide. He was especially protective of the younger students, knowing that they didn’t quite understand what had lead to the changes at Hogwarts.

He made himself responsible for travelling between Aberforth’s pub and the room of requirement, gathering the essentials and bringing back updates if anything new happened. He was punished multiple times by the Carrows because he was constantly defying their rules and orders, but their constant distraction was useful as more and more students went missing into the room of requirement. Due to the amount of good he did protecting the other students, he wasn’t sent away from the battle like most of the rest of his house.

Gabe aspires to work in Hogwarts, with the hopes of being the DATDA teacher. While not a fan of Quiddich, he goes to the matches merely because he doesn’t handle boredom well, and he likes to flirt with the players. He has an underlying infatuation with Astoria, one he never shared with her or anyone for that matter. Only knowing her through their mutual connection, the heir of Malfoy, Gabriel was sentenced to silence, no matter how much he’d enjoy being able to tell her.

Gabriel refused to be titled as Order of Merlin: First Class, having no interest to join the league of goody-goodies who had also been offered the name. Returning to Hogwarts after the battle, he went along as if nothing had happened. He held a growing resentment for the trio that had brought the war upon the school, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. They were titled war heroes by the rest of the school, but he saw them as nothing more than traitors. His impartial stance against the Slytherin cause was forgotten after a few weeks, and he returned to his cocky, arrogant position in Hogwarts.

How are we suppose to write a bio if there is no plot? Also, the app count says Daphne but then she is taken on the master list. Is she open for applications or no?

    Even though we’re actively accepting applications, the admins aren’t quite finished with the creation of the RPG. Some things we’re working on include the plot page, character graphics, house point displays, and school club lists. Putting the plot out is our main priority at the moment. 

    As for your second question, Daphne is taken by the lovely Admin Daphne. She sent in the application as a courtesy so that we can place her as officially taken. If the character is marked as taken in the directory, this means they are being reserved for someone who has helped/joined the group early.
