I know it's probably not what you meant by wouldnt it be wild if the Dark Margin represents Riku's heart the way Destiny Islands represents Soras like in DDD?

What if the first visit to the ROD in KH3 is Riku diving into his own heart and that where he finds the remnants of Repliku fadinging away into the deepest parts of his heart. And then Riku's hair changed because he was not longer in his own heart.

Namine said that the Darkness in Riku's heart is vast and deep, but honestly, .like this idea just because it's the place where Riku was finally able to open up to Sora, and it's a mirror to Destiny Islands (Sora's heart) their shores are even connected.
