me remembering that one post i made talking about how i find elliott's speech pattern interesting because i share a similar speech impediment as him but realizing that, after doing some research, there's a strong possibility that it's related to primary progressive aphasia, a degenerative neuro disorder with no cure and very little treatment: well........that post didn't age well ---

The look on his face is uncharacteristically...BLANK. Seemingly unperturbed by the whole thing — but anyone who knows Elliott would know it's quite the opposite...

His gaze remained LOCKED onto the now empty doorway for a moment, as if Ramya was still standing there; eventually, slowly, drifting back to the holopad that sat in his lap.

— he's gotta get his door fixed. ASAP.

          “Okay so...I know this is gonna make me look like a LIAR, but I swear it was working before...”

     EMBARRASSING didn’t even begin to describe the feeling. After weeks of hyping it up, Elliott finally gets the chance to show the thing off and it’s dead in the water...literally.

     His chin is almost on the counter, eyes level with the glass of water he just dropped a holosensor in a few seconds ago. It’s been days, and he has yet to figure out how to waterproof the damn thing. Ever since his little INCIDENT with that geyser it’s been his top priority, even taking precedence over sleep, as one may be able to tell by the lack of not only energy but joviality the bartender typically possessed.

          At least until the sensor suddenly lit up with life, Elliott following shortly after even as the lights flickered back off.

                    “SEE — ?! D-did you see it?”

[ private ] - sender does something to defend receiver’s privacy when a third party is threatening to cross receiver’s boundaries

[ lie ] - sender lies in a way that is intended to protect receiver

[ water ] - sender runs a hot shower/bath for receiver after receiver has had a long day

[ meal ] - sender prepares some sort of meal for receiver (breakfast, lunch for the next day)

[ righting ] - sender does something to ‘right’ receiver; straightens their tie, sweeps their hair back into place, fixes a curl back into place, etc 

[ shove ] - sender shoves receiver affectionately because receiver is teasing them

[ presence ] - receiver is upset, and sender is - simply - present. they put their hand over receiver’s, or they sit beside them so their shoulders knock, or they link fingers, or they just barely toe at receiver’s shoe so they’re reminded they’re not alone.
