Picture this: a dry hot wasteland. Stretching for what might be forever. In the distance the mountains sinking into the horizon. From the dust rises a whole world. Filled with characters riding four wheeled dragons, sailing ships across the barren desert, even a puppet the size of a tree towering over the community only to learn. Puppet master no where in sight. The more I think about it the more it seems like a fantasy. This past summer I took part in my first burn. Starting at the beginning of August when I left in my van to roam around BC, I drove many hundreds of kilometers, and explored inside and out. My grand finale being a week in the desert for what I can only say was life changing experience. This was one of the sacred spaces I had the opportunity to occupy. Set just behind the standing Rock fire is what you see here.
