We just love our hometown Hilton Village Farmers Market! Our greenhouse doesn't have electricity but that doesn't mean it isn't heated. Our 1st one, in 1987 was heated by hot composting the spent bales from straw bales gardening. Tonight I replaced one of the buckets with a newly packed one and the finished compost will nutrify the gardens. This is simply a bucket with holes drilled all over it or a chicken wire tube. A big "Thank You" to everyone who took the time out of their morning yesterday and braved the rain to come out and support the new Hilton Village Farmers Market. They have it 51 weeks a year. I'm hoping to make the cut and be out there on a regular basis. We are currently doing deliveries and pick-ups as well. Yep, we tear out the little window before shredding. Those pesky plastic panes never seem to decompose. Shredding all available paper and cardboard, minus tape and plastic windows, means we can have year-round brown material.
