Queer Jane Week 2025 is happening soon!

From Sunday, August 10th, to Saturday, August 16th, celebrate all things queer and Jane / Nanna related.

Join us in creating works of art, fanfiction, edits, headcanon lists, cosplay, etc. Anyone can contribute, and you can do the whole week, or a single day.

Day 1: August 10th: Pride: Display Jane’s pride through the flags, symbols and colours of your headcanons.

Day 2: August 11th: Hobbies and Interests: Showcase Jane’s likes, interests and hobbies through a queer lens. Baking a rainbow cake? Dressing as an inscrutable French detective? Something to do with pranks, comedy, Problem Sleuth or even Pony Pals!

Day 3: August 12th: Family: Jane or Nanna with Dad, Jade, John/June. Maybe also the Peixes. Sharing in their pride or supporting one another. No incest/ectocest please.

Day 4: August 13th: Ship or No Ship: Romantic, queerplatonic, platonic, or Jane proudly declaring being aro and/or ace.

Day 5: August 14th: Wildcard Day: Anything involving Jane Crocker being queer!

Day 6: August 15th: Alternate Universe: Any AU you desire, whilst still showcasing Jane’s queerness. Kidswap, speciesswap, crossover, whatever.

Day 7: August 16th: That’s So Gender (or not): Showcase any gender, or lack thereof featuring Jane or Nanna. Choose your own headcanon, or perhaps a gender you rarely see or think would just be neat.

NO WAY! IT'S DEFAULT DEADLINE DAY!

It's one of the most important days in the Polyswap Calendar: the final day to default without penalty.

What is a DEFAULT? In the shortest possible explanation: defaulting is where a participant lets the mods know they cannot complete their assignment, and lets another person take over the duty of gifting!

Absolutely any reason can be given for this, including no reason at all, but defaulting TOO close to the date of the collection open—when everyone gets to open their presents on JUNE 14th—is a strain on our volunteer cast of pinch hitters.

To give our back-up creatives the maximum amount of time, we offer a window for no-questions-asked no-shame no-blame default starting on Assignment Day and ending... today! That way, any gift that needs to be substituted will have up to fourteen days of glorious quality assurance.

On the other hand... Defaulting AFTER the Default Deadline—today, MAY 27th—is an automatic penalty. You will NOT be permitted to sign-up as a participant for next year's Polyswap unless you do some make-up work like making two treats of extra goodies or becoming a pinch hitter to save someone else's Polyswap this year.

Defaults can be submitted to the moderation team via email directed to HSPOLYSHIPSWAP at GMAIL dot COM! For Discord users, you can open a mod-chat ticket in the #mod-chat-requests channel!

Homestuck Clowns Bigbang

Hi, there! I am working on creating a bigbang that is focused on the purple bloods of Homestuck: all of our favorite clowns! I wanted to check if people would be interested in it at all but first a few housekeeping things:

What is a Bigbang?

This is an event that has writers and artists collaborate together! Essentially for a regular Bigbang, writers will be the ones writing prompts of what fics they are going to write, and after a set amount of time, these prompts will be available for artists to pick out. Once prompt selections are made, assignments are sent out, and writers and artists will have a few months to work on their pieces, then they will be shared!

What are the rules of this event?

Essentially, the basic requirement for works in this event would be that they involve the Purple blood trolls since they are the main theme, but they don't have to be the sole characters. It can also include other homestuck characters and any ships. This is a celebration of clowns

As for word count minimum, I'll say at least 5,000 but you're welcome to just go crazy with it or make multiple chapters if you wish.

For the artists, any kind of art is allowed so long as it is a fully finished piece that matches the effort put in for the 5,000 word count min for writers

NSFW is allowed so long as everything is rated properly with the proper warnings and such

There will also be a discord server to join as this makes organizing these events easier, but more details will come out about that once I garner an interest check. Other than that, it's the basic rules of respect: being nice to each other, any bigotry and such will not be tolerated. Anything is allowed so long as there are proper ratings and warnings.

The Homestuck Fan Author Coalition's March 2025 Competition was a gift swap! Authors were asked to write 3-5 Homestuck related prompts, and then they received a set of prompts from another author to write. Participants had one month to write any fic they liked based on their prompts, and votes were done to determine the awards.

I am the strange little person who is hosting the 4pm Homestuck meetup at dashcon two! As far as we know it will be in the heritage gardens but that is subject to change. I have hosted Homestuck meets before back in the 2010s so I promise I know what I’m doing lol maybe hahah! Anyway I’ll be putting together a list of photos we’re gonna take. We will of course be taking requests day of but the list is just to streamline it so we can get as much done as possible.(it’s 2025 people we the homestucks will not be making a public nuisance of ourselves we are gonna get everyone’s wishlist for pictures done within the allotted time! You know like grown ups) If anyone wants me to add something to the list please let me know. DMs, asks, replies, and reblogs are all perfectly valid ways to let me know what to add.
