John Egbert-Lalonde design & storyline

NON SPOILER SECTION:

DESIGN:

John is a little more feminine-looking due Roxy's influence (he's ok with that). He has longer hair, usually he wears hairclips too. He wears colorful and comfy clothes, and also he has many stickers and doodles around due the kids playing with him. He also has a piercing on his lip; it's pink because it's Roxy's favourite color.

JOB: Working as caretaker for kids, grubs and baby consorts and carapacians.

RELATIONSHIP(s): Married to Roxy Lalonde; best friend with Rose, Dave and Jade.

STORYLINE (NOT SPOILER VERSION):

Once arrived to Earth C, John was actually really positive. He got married to Roxy, moved into the Children Acceptance building, where he takes care of all children, grubs and little consorts.

He tried to establish a friendship with everyone; Dirk, Jake, Kanaya, Jane, but for a reason or another he ended up not talking to them anymore [he's scared of Dirk, not really "vibing" with Kanaya and he's envious of Jane]. His envy towards Jane started during the period where John passed a lot of time at Jane's house, where Jane's dad was to take care of the kids. The more John spoke to Dad Crocker, the more he understood that he wasn't his father and never could be; while Jane has him and never lost him. John slowly stopped talking to Jane because of that, but Jane doesn't know the reason and barely noticed it (she still thinks they're in good terms).

John became less and less satisfied with his life when he slowly stopped talking to his friends too. They were already growing apart, but since they all got married, the only time John can see at least Rose is when she comes over to talk to Roxy. And so John ends up being lonely and apart from everything, yet not looking like he is.

The first time Karkat came to speak about the Singularity and how to use it to fix their errors and build a happy ending for everyone, he couldn't say anything since Roxy attacked Karkat and sent him away. When Roxy confessed to John that she already knew everything about the Singularity, because Rose told her — and neither of them told him. John felt hurt, but he didn't say anything again.

SPOILER SECTION:

DESIGN: John decided to put back on his old God Tier PJ, but it has small changes; mostly, the breath symbol now is made of three colors: red (Dave), green (Jade) and purple (Rose). Same thing at the end of his pants, where white is also present to symbolize his dad.

SIDE: Karkat's; reset the Universe.

STORYLINE (ENDING PART - SPOILER VERSION):

One night, in panic due the visions, Rose came to John to talk to him about everything and ask help to fix everything, etc. After that night Rose was founded dead, and John decided to join Karkat, Terezi and Sollux to reset the universe.

What John wants is to simply have his dad back, his friends close again (and Rose alive), and maybe recreate Earth C too, but with better premises, more preparation, and gave life to the same children/grubs/etc later on.

ENDING 1 and 2: unfortunatelly, Terezi decides to purposefully use John as a shield against Dave's sword, killing him.

JANE: Roxy told me everything, but i need more informations. First of all, are you sure about what you're saying?

ROSE: Yes, I am. I haven't spoke to them in such long time, but...

JANE: The horrorterrors?

ROSE: Yes. Last time they spoke to me, I lost completely my mind. But yesterday was different.

ROSE: In a dream. I don't know how or why me; maybe because I went grimdark years ago or maybe because I'm a seer, but I was close to them, inside a black and white space surrounding us.

ROSE: They didn't tell me what to do, for once, they just told me what it was needed to know.

ROSE: Their words were unintelligible, yet I knew what they said, and when I woke up it took me a while to understand what I heard and what that means.

JANE: Do you now know what they meant? Are we going to die?

ROSE: ... I do know. No, we aren't going to die. But the life that formed after the game's end is.

JANE: What!?

ROSE: They're angry at us.

ROSE: Since we aren't in the game anymore, the Horrorterrors took another job entirely. Imagine them as a sort of anti-cheat code now that we won. They analyzed the strings of our games combined and came up with the idea that we cheated; probably by entering each other's sessions.

JANE: WHA-!? Ok, ok, if that's true, what is going to happen exactly? Do they want to punish us for "cheating"?

ROSE: Yes, they do, by making us restart the entire thing.

ROSE: The Black Hole expanding in our sky, the Singularity, will soon envelope the entirety of Earth C, if not the entire Universe, and bring us back in time, before our sessions met.

JANE: So it's different from the Scratch?

ROSE: Completely. As I said, the Singularity is an anti-cheat code, not a "panic button" like the Scratch.

JANE: Fuck... If that happens we'd lose everyone... I'd lose my children, I'd lose my house, my grandpa.

JANE: There is a way to stop it, right?

ROSE: All I know, or what at least I suppose, is that the Singularity has a centre. A weak point that aliments everything.

ROSE: If we let the Singularity expand enough, the exterior part will get thinner, therefore easier to penetrate and destroy the centre.

JANE: So we have to wait!? We have to prepare! We have to find weapons, or train our powers, we have to tell everyone and get their help-!

ROSE: Not everyone.

JANE: ?

ROSE: ... Despite my resistance to talk to you about this, and trust you more than my own wife; I am sure you're a safe person to talk to about this. But the same can't be said for everyone.

JANE: Is there someone collaborating with the horrorterrors? How?

ROSE: More like "taking advantage of".

ROSE: I'm not sure who is using or will use the Singularity's threat to their own advantage, all I can do is thinking through possibilities and probability. And right now it's very probable that, on Earth C, only me, you and Roxy know about the Singularity's intent.

JANE: Who would even use this as their own advantage!? Why would they!?

ROSE: I don't know the details, of course, but I have a sort of psychological profile in mind.
