New AU art! I wanted to make a poster for PGPI since I started drawing things for it, and it took a while but it's done! It's nice to put their designs into the context of a scene for once though haha.

New ref sheets are coming, I just need to finish them up. Additionally, I have a few other misc drawings from this AU that were on the back burner while I finished this. Stay tuned!

Dead Boy Detectives Offerings for Fandom Trumps Hate 2025!

If you haven't seen it before, FTH is a yearly charity auction. The idea is: creators sign up to offer fan creations – fic, art, edits, betaing, or anything else – in exchange for donations to charity. You then bid on the creator(s) of your choice!

This has been taking place since 2016, and always picks an overall cause to support. This year, that cause was queer organisations. What's more fitting for the first year our fandom can participate?

Even though this is the first year for DBDA, we've come smashing right in with a whopping 35 entries. This puts us somewhere in the top 20 biggest fandom offerings (of hundreds)!

I've made a spreadsheet here to consolidate and for easier viewing, but I'll also be listing everyone directly on Tumblr under the cut.

Attention Dead Boy Detectives fans (and fan artists in particular):

Wanting to include The Lantern in something but having trouble seeing all the details in screenshots? Good news! I’m almost certain I just found the type of lantern they used/modified/based a build off of for the show!

It’s called an Anchor Oil Lamp

First, some Screenshots: (thank you @alltimefail for your help with these!)

And the lanterns I found tonight:

The shapes and silhouette all look very close to me, and if you look closely at the screenshot of the Dollhouse hallway, you can even see the edge of the ‘anchor light’ label on there!

I don’t think any of these are the exact model- most have a metal handle (though they might have replaced the handle themselves) and the one I found with a rope one has a floral design that’s not there in the show. There’s also some variation in the Fresnel glass between some of the ones I’ve seen.

Unless they found an actual antique, it’s very likely they got a new one and colored the metal to make it look more aged and not so shiny- and they almost certainly replaced the oil wick with an electric light as well.

I hope this is helpful to some of you- I don’t think any of them are the exact same model, but it’s still pretty dang close to what we see in the show if you need more references!
