there was a part of her that was so happy to hear that she was missed, that he felt like something was missing. and maybe that made her a bad person, maybe it was selfish and cruel of her to hope and be happy for that. but it gave her a small sense of hope that maybe things could change that they would fix everything from here on. but she let him lead the conversation, that he took the reigns. she looks to him when he moves to close the distance and offers a small half smile to him her shaking hand holding on to his. she looks to him in awe when he says that he was an idiot and shakes her head gently. "oh you sweet man." she says softly. "you are no idiot. the bomb i dropped on you - that was a lot. i think you reacted in a very human and almost expected way.." she says to him softly. goosebumps raise on her skin when he confirms that she was the best thing to ever happen to him and she smiled. she smiled because she felt exactly the same way. "eren.." she says as tears swell in her eyes and she smiles brighter. "you are the sweetest, most compassionate, and thoughtful man i have ever met. you are the best thing that could have ever happened to me.. which was why i couldn't lie to you. i'm.. i'm so glad that you came back.. i love you.. i love you so much eren.."

          *ੈ  ♡ ‧₊˚     understandably,  he's  still  at  a  complete  loss  about  what  to  do;  resorting  to  tightening  the  embrace  he  had  on  devyn.  he  hoped  it  would  help  in  calming  her  down,  but  now  it  only  seemed  as  if  he  was  just  making  things  worse.  part  of  noah  wonders  if  it  would  have  been  best  to  just  let  devyn  depart  when  she  had  attempted  to  do  so  moments  ago  . . .  at  first,  he's  unable  to  decipher  her  muffled  confession,  but  as  soon  as  he  realizes  the  words  that  left  her  lips,  he  slowly  pulls  away  from  the  girl.  "  wait,  what  ?  do  you  . . .  do  you  really  mean  that  ?  like,  really  ?  because  if  you  do,  then  . . .  then  why  didn't  you  say  anything  before  ?  devyn,  i  . . .  oh  my  god,  i've  been  in  love  with  you  since  i  was  fifteen  years  old.  wasn't  it  obvious  ?  i  . . .  i  just  thought  you  didn't  feel  the  same  way  . . .  "

devyn was not one to cry, even more so cry when someone else could see it. her eyes full of water she looks to him sadly. as he pulls her into him she finds herself going limp in his arms as they gently wrap around him her fingers gently grasping at the back of his suit jacket. as he pleads for her to stop crying and asking how he can make it better her body shudders for a moment. "noah.." she chokes out for a moment. "i.. i don't want to see you with someone else." she murmurs. "because.. i wish it was me.." she finally confesses her heart aching in her chest. "you.. you can't make it better, because you have someone else and .. i .. i don't want to ruin that for you or screw up your life. but.. i'm.. i'm just not in the right place to meet her right now." she admits softly.
