evie was special to him - admittedly more so then he was willing to admit to. she was his best friends little sister, there was something about that, that just seemed so taboo, so he always tried to keep distance. but it was made impossibly difficult when they spent so much time together through her brother. he smiled seeing her seem to lighten up after all the happened. he was glad that he was able to turn her day around even if this wasn't what she had planned. he laughs when she said that she didn't think she could wait. he reaches to the back seat grabbing a cute bag. "it's not much but .. when i saw it i thought of it." he says smiling. inside the bag a pair of cute and pretty heart earrings.

"of course i would .. you did all this to celebrate even though he's an ass you should still get what you want for your birthday." sehun says gently to her offering a small smile. "plus i can give you your present from me over dinner." he tells her. he wants to say how he'd never forget her birthday or not take her out for her birthday but he keeps that to himself not wanting to make her feel anything negative. "you just say where, and i'll take you."

          *ੈ  ♡ ‧₊˚     truth  be  told  . . .  evie  wasn't  entirely  sure  what  her  feelings  were  when  it  came  to  sehun.  he  was  her  brother's  best  friend,  &  in  many  ways,  he  was  her  best  friend  as  well.  they  had  been  through  a  lot  over  the  course  of  time  that  they  had  known  eachother,  &  evie  would  definitely  be  lying  if  she  said  she  never  harbored  some  sort  of  crush  on  sehun,  but  it  was  always  fleeting;  always  temporary  . . .  though,  perhaps  that's  just  what  she  had  tricked  herself  into  believing.  admittedly,  the  kiss  to  the  top  of  her  head  throws  her  off  guard,  only  able  to  smile  &  nod  at  his  previous  statement,  all  the  while  trying  to  conceal  her  ever - growing  blush  —  "  hmmm  . . .  "  femme  hums,  a  manicured  finger  tapping  her  chin  in  thought.  "  i'd  say  after  dinner  but  i  don't  think  i  can  wait  . . .  "

he was glad to see the nearly instant shift in her - she had been so upset and now seemingly she was already feeling better. sehun was glad that he was able to do that for her. the fact that her moron of a boyfriend wasn't spoiling and cherishing her on her birthday was baffling to him. he couldn't imagine not doing something like that for her - or let alone a significant other. feeling her cling on to his arm he smile warmly to her, something that was often reserved only for people who was close to him. "good - you better make sure that you eat all that you can." he smiled and kisses the top of her head gently. holding open the passenger door for her, once she's in he shuts the door gently before slipping into the driver seat. starting up the car and heading on his way to the place she requested, he gives a brief glance to her. "do you want your gift now or after dinner?"

          *ੈ  ♡ ‧₊˚     the  figurative  rain  cloud  that  had  been  looming  over  the  birthday  girl  seemed  to  have  completely  dissipated  at  this  point  in  time  &  evie  was  beginning  to  grow  hopeful  that  her  birthday  wouldn't  be  a  complete  disaster  after  all.  sehun  had  always  done  right  by  her;  evie  should  have  known  he  wouldn't  let  her  be  alone  today.  though,  a  small  part  of  her  worries  that  he  doesn't  enjoy  her  company  nearly  as  much  without  everette.  she  ignores  the  (  intrusive  )  thought,  deciding  to  enjoy  the  moment  without  worry  . . .  when  he  confirms  their  departure  to  the  sushi  restaurant, a  small  squeak  of  excitement  emits  from  evie's  lips  &  she's  quick  to  cling  onto  the  male's  arm.  "  i  can't  wait.  i'm  sooo  hungry,  too.  "  dark  hues  now  look  up  at  sehun.  "  mmm,  nope.  i'm  all  set  to  go.  "  she  confirms  with  a  nod  &  widening  smile,  following  sehun  to  his  car.  

sehun had seen it often enough that his best friend's baby sister struggle with relationships - but he honestly couldn't understand why someone just couldn't treat the girl before him well. though she seemed to fall into the same routine time and time again it was .. sad to see and he wanted better for her. he chuckles when she said that he was her favorite person. "its just how you should be treated." he says gently. when asked about where they would go he smiled at her choice. "wherever you would like to go, i'd be more then happy to take you. so if that's where, then we're going." he smiled to her sweetly. " it was really good when ev and i went, so i know you're gonna love it." e assures her with a small nod of his head. he makes sure her present from him is still in his pocket and checks for keys as well. "do you need anything else before we go?" he asks wanting to make sure she was set to go.

          *ੈ  ♡ ‧₊˚     "  fake  names  is  probably  the  best  choice.  i  never  did  quite  like  evie  . . .   "  femme  nods,  the  pit  of  her  stomach  still  somersaulting  as  they  speak.  running  away  had  always  been  this  romanticized  concept  in  evie's  mind;  always  yearning  but  never  obtaining  the  courage  required  to  succeed  in  such  acts.  but  cassian  . . .  cassian  made  her  feel  like  she  could  do  anything,  be  anyone  she  wanted  to  be  . . .  &  perhaps  that  was  all  that  she  needed  to  finally  follow  through  with  her  plans  —  there's  an  insistent  lump  in  her  throat,  because  cass  is  right;  evie's  parents  might  not  have  cared  all  too much,  but  her  twin  brother  was  a  whole  other  story.  still,  she's  already  decided  that  she  can't  back  out  now.  "  no,  it  doesn't  scare  me.  "  she  decides  without  hesitation,  taking  a  step  forward  &  taking  ahold  of  counterpart's  hands.  it's  then  that  an  announcement  overheard  indicates  their  train  would  be  arriving  shortly.  "  . . .  you  &  me  against  the  world.  right,  cass ?  "
