Hello Internet! Over the weekend, I began a brand new journey because I got an invitation to a deserted island. I arrived at a little airport, and these two little guys were there to welcome me.

I was already excited, and they needed a little bit of information from me to get started. My name is Maddie, birthday 8/2, and I am thrilled to be on this little adventure. New friends, new roads, and hopefully a great new place to call home.

I'm happy that I decided to give myself a little makeover before the flight. A new hairstyle, a cute new island shirt, and cute blush of course. They then asked what I still assume was a silly question: who wouldn't want a sleeping bag on a deserted island?!

I was suddenly whisked away to a brand-new island, with an excellent view. All those apples made me think of home, although my apple tree never produced fruit often. (I think something was wrong with it after I shook it too many times...) It was a bumpy ride, but overall it seems to be kind of empty, but also for a big introvert like me: paradise.

When we landed, it all went so fast. They had mentioned a fearless leader, and I'll admit that was scary. The other characters on the plane were finally introduced to me: Frita and Rod. They seemed like sweet people—animals—creatures—villagers, I guess. This "fearless leader" was nothing more than a big 'ole softie named Tom Nook, which is a relief. Back home, the fearless leader had a habit of red hats and broken promises. So I hope nothing like that happens here.

I was told that I needed to pick a place for my new home, and I really had a hard time with this. First I thought by the river would be relaxing, but it seems Frita was considering living there so I wanted to consider another spot. Then I considered beachfront property on the East Coast, but then I remembered... sand is GROSS. I settled on being next to a little pond, and an apple tree. Feels kind of right at home, especially where I spent my formative years as a child.

On March 31st, my new home was finally in place. This was the start of my new life, and hopefully, it will be a good one. I'll be writing entries daily, and I hope you'll be here to stick by and see what my life becomes. This first day though, I think will be 2 entries.
