As I said b4 I think Johnny would play the drums, I think he started around the same time he started karate. he tried a few instruments before Dutch introduced him to the drums and he found he was very good at rhythm. He could play by ear or read sheet music (because he was also forced to learn violin) but he mostly focused on learning the songs that kreese would give him to try and impress kreese. He did it mostly to get out his anger it was somewhat of a release. He got pretty good at it, but he had to give it up when he graduated from highschool because Sid refused to buy him a drum set and the only one he had access to was at school. He was also forced to do violin by his mom so he would be "well rounded" and he was good at that but not as good as he was on the drums. If he hadn't done karate he would have probably pursued a career in music.

As for Daniel, he plays guitar because Ralph Macchio played guitar for crossroads. That's it. 😛😛😛

Hohohohohoo, I'd certainly say my favourite KK era Lawrusso moment is basically this post of mine, when Johnny's eyes lock onto Daniel as he's lifted:

It's so easy to miss, what with it only being a second that's overshadowed among the celebration around Daniel. But the pure earnestness in Johnny's teary gaze as it follows upwards makes him look vulnerable in a way that hasn't been seen previously in the movie. There's nothing hiding his eyes, what I described as reverent on my post, when it trails Daniel like a dog or a worshipper, or s poor boy with so big a crush that he can't do anything to stop. It's pure naked yearning in one split second, and I EAT IT UPPPPPP!!!!

As far as CK era Lawrusso, there's almost nothing that tops the first moment Daniel and Johnny reunite for the first time in the car dealership ahfkskjfjjf. It's so awkward and with an undercurrent of tension (from both men, because they're idiots), and it's due part to what's been said — but also what is kept quiet. Daniel looks so light and happy to see Johnny, which you could reason it's in part to schadenfreude, but I'd like to believe there's a level of genuineness too; him saying to Johnny that he blames Cobra Kai more than he does the man for their bad history, paying for the car, etc. And I can't NOT mention the "golden locks" comment HELLOOOOOOO. Johnny himself is obviously the more apprehensive and gruff of the two, but even in spite of his evasiveness and resentment, there's still this air of wanting that exists in spite of, or because, of years burrowing it:

Stop staring at the man or else I'm going to think of uncharitable thoughts, Lawrence.
