the high 5 heroes vs the rat grinders is so much to me like. they spent so much time together out in those woods you know they had jokes they had their routines they probably had some wild bingo game like “oisin trips on a tree root” or “ruben plays the wrong note” to make all those hours fun

and then after the mountains of chaos, when everything is twisted, when lucys gone, when theyve tasted death and were too afraid to accept it and then they come back and their minds and hearts are being twisted by rage

now theres probably petty arguments and bickering, and withering looks and disagreements because theyre angry and theyre scared and nothing is going right and theyre not the same anymore and [scream] all they have is each other but they all already failed each other once on the mountains of chaos

“Willy.” You groaned out when your head hit the bottom of the chute. He said your name, looking at you and quickly grabbing your hand.

You both then looked in front of you guys, at the others. They introduced themselves, but he wasn't having any of it. He got up and you both quickly tried to find an exit.

"There's a dog over there-" someone said, but it was too late when you realized, and the dog barked, so you backed away.

He was frustrated with himself- In his mind, it was his fault. He felt like a terrible husband when he looked at your face full of confusion. You were trapped.

You both listened and watched as they explained what you both would be doing- for God knows how long. You noticed his unusual behavior and quietness. And at the end of the day, you stood in his room with him.

"Willy, what’s wrong?”you interrupted his thoughts.

"I'm sorry. I'm... so sorry," he said, his voice barely audible.

“It's not your fault, willy.”

“It is. I should've known something was wrong."

“You shouldn't blame yourself, Willy. You couldn't have read it. You couldn’t have known.”

He sighed and sat down on the bed. You sat down next to him, and he turned to you, taking your hand in his.

"All I've ever wanted since I married you was to make you happy. You've been with me every step of the way. I love you, so much. And now, we're stuck in the basement of a hag all because I wasn't careful. You are the best thing to ever happen in my life. You deserve better.”

You laughed at the last sentence. "I'm happy. I'm happy anywhere I am as long as it's with you. I love you, and I promise you we'll get through this. When we get out of here, we'll start the best chocolate business anyone's ever seen." you said, he looked at you with a small smile on his face as you talked.

His eyes were full of adoration, with a twinkle of hope as he listened to your words. He leaned in and closed his eyes, hands moving to cup your face.

"I love you." he said once more, his words a promise of a better future.

I've seen a lot of discourse about Virginia Kull's portrayal of Sally Jackson in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians TV series, and I'd like to say that I loved her. Don't get me wrong. I love Sally from the original book series, and I, too, would fight the God of War on her behalf. But something that I enjoyed about Virginia's portrayal of Sally that we don't get in the books is the character depth. We don't hear much of Sally's backstory in the TV series, apart from a couple of flashbacks with younger Percy and that scene with Poseidon (Toby Stephens). However, those scenes do an excellent job of showing us that alongside being Percy's mother, Sally is also a young woman who fell in love with a man she could not be with and is enduring the natural consequences of having Percy. She struggles to communicate with him when she's frustrated, gets teary-eyed when she lies to him to prolong the inevitable, and actively sacrifices her happiness to ensure his safety. Virginia Kull's portrayal of Sally Jackson reinforces the character's humanity, imperfections, and determination, and it's everything to me.
