I'm still kicking around and doing creative things, but I've been keeping my hooping practice private these days. This is where I'll be posting my current experiments and creative practice

I'm deliberately exploring slowness, softness and patience, so don't expect rapid updates. I do have a bit of a backlog for anything wearable that needs a model, so there might be a burst of content when I get the time & space for that photoshoot

First foray into slow stitch

I found the slow stitch process so peaceful and in line with the mindfulness I've been trying to inject into my creative practice. Big thanks to Lyn for starting me on a new style that I don't think I would have otherwise tried. I went a little unconventional with a close crop and a pretty loose mounting in a float frame to preserve the translucency of the silk and organza. I could have been neater, but it didn't feel right to be too fussy in the finishing.

This piece now lives with the model in the source photo, who I recently discovered owns what I think is the biggest collection of my paintings, from back when I did such things! **chef's kiss**

I haven’t hooped in YEARS. I decided I’d start back up, it’s so great for coordination and a light workout but it’s also FUN. In lieu of the Tswag concert next month, I decided I’ll start 30ish days of tswag 🤘 Let’s see if my hooping improves 👏🔥🔥🔥

So apparently the Mailchimp scripts to let people sign up were just silently dying in the corner. I’ve cleaned it out and written my own so it should be working if you weren’t able to sign up before! Since hoop making is still near and dear to my heart, Stasher’s features will absolutely cover as many of our quirks and needs as possible. - Tape and tubing can be so tricky to track and price! I never thought I’d be able to do a duck out then I tried it and got it on the first try!!! Hooping just gives me so much confidence and hope for myself and i know it’s dumb but I know I can accomplish things I put my mind to because of shit like that
