it's all true, i was there (gazing down from my resting place, the stars of the firmament)
btw as fun as the song of pelinal is, i rarely see people mention how it's like... an in-universe historical myth that is like definitely incredibly exaggerated right? it'd be like if today people thought Achilles Really Did Do All That cause one epic poem said he did. not saying Pelinal wasn't very brutal and great at killing and probably weird and mystical and stuff -- but it's weird how everyone seems to take this hero-worship epic poem as fact in the community as opposed to a very obviously flawed and exaggerated source

I know the “Pelinal is a cyborg” theory is kinda just misinformation but please consider how cool is the following:
Like imagine being some poor ayelid chap and the cyborg starts unhinging it’s jaw to bite your face off.

And then Kyne granted Perrif another symbol, a diamond soaked red with the blood of elves, whose facets could un-sector and form into a man whose every angle could cut her jailers and a name: PELIN-EL, "The Star-Made Knight" and he was arrayed in armor from the future time.
And he walked into the jungles of Cyrod already killing, Morihaus stamping at his side froth-bloody and bellowing from excitement because the Pelinal was come... and Pelinal came to Perrif's camp of rebels holding a sword and mace, both encrusted with the smashed viscera of elven faces, feathers and magic beads, which were the markings of the Ayleidoon, stuck to the redness that hung from his weapons, and he lifted them, saying: "These were their eastern chieftains, no longer full of their talking."

i think a lot about pelinal honestly and i love the juxtaposition of his characterization so much, like he’s supposed to be this divine liberator and posed as a hero— but he’s horrifying. he’s brutal, lacks self control, and can care about mortals to the point of causing mass destruction since he doesn’t know how else to respond to emotions such as grief, distress & loss since i dont imagine semi-divine & divine beings are supposed to experience those feelings.
he also raises the question of “do the ends justify the means?” since ultimately, the liberation of the nedes & defeat of specifically cruel ayleid leaders is a good thing, but pelinal paving the way to the alessian orders existence, imperials devotion to war culture, and genocide of the ayleids and khajiit isn’t. i think pelinal himself even recognizes this and addresses it to an extent, at least in regards to how his actions will impact the future of cyrodiil since he warns morihaus to not have a child with alessia, because that would cement the creation of the imperial empire which is something i don’t think pelinal necessarily wants.

Do you have any pelinal/huna headcanon?
to me they are a 'sacred theban band' type pair, not a 'manly man and his femboy' type pair
