so many YuGiOh episode plots (plus the Pyramid of Light movie and lowkey DSOD) are just Mokuba going “Aw man my big brother’s having another angsty manic crashout episode because he had to take on the burden of raising both of us at a young age and also the majority of our abusive militaristic stepfather’s psychological emotional warfare *sigh* Yugi is it okay if you just duel him a little? It’ll really clear his head even though around you he always starts hallucinating. Haha weird!”

I just had a dream that Nintendo released a new super smash bros but everything was the same except Light Yagami was a new playable character and everyone was mad because he was way too powerful and could KO anyone in a single move with the death note and ssb tournaments turned into everyone just choosing to play as him and trying to quick draw the death note first western-style to win

my favorite part of season zero is the multiple occasions where yami yugi immolates someone alive. it's his favorite activity. and of course the yo-yo battle to the death.

the yo-yo battle in the manga is so truly unhinged. nothing will ever come remotely close. yugi almost gets hanged. jonouchi tries to bludgeon a few dudes to death with the millennium puzzle but settles on stringing them up by their FINGERS instead and then he gets broken glass stuck in his eyes and nearly gets stabbed. yami uses a yo-yo to cut a hole in the roof looney tunes style causing several men to fall to their doom. those guys happen to be the replacements for the gang members that yami electrocuted to death a little while back. i have no clue how it received even a heavily censored anime adaptation i could not make this shit up even if i tried
