If you move out to the country and you fall asleep on your couch and you wake up at 5 AM to your dog growling and after a few minutes you hear the sound of the outside storm door you know you latched creaking open, you only need to remember that there's nothing behind your house but a mile of pasture and forest and the river that spearates your land from your neighbor's and whatever is at the door doesn't have the strength to break in so you only need to tell your dog it's alright and put her under the afghan beside you and go back to sleep.

Treat yourself. Talk to your local undead spirits. Befriend the strange entities hiding within the shadows of your bedroom. Let the strange whispering creature made of eyeballs and dark matter envelop your brain. Become one with your town’s secret underground hivemind. You’ve earned it.
