have u considered instead of giving c!wilbur creepy red eyes (basic, sometimes dehumanizing, can lead to bad connotations in certain depictions) you could give him red glasses (sexy, lots of pop and color, fit his dramatic but dorky personality, can be used as a metaphor for rose-tinted glasses) because if not have i got a design headcanon for u

ive made posts about this before but i feel like ill make another one

i think its really important to have the character designs of the dsmp characters be physically different from the actual irl people playing said characters, especially the minors. i think it works as a visual /rp or c! indicator, which is used VERY often in written stuff.

like with ranboo it's easy because his character is SO visually different from his irl counterpart. tubbo's character is most commonly depicted with either blond hair or horns of some kind to differentiate him as well.

but characters like c!tommy, for example, often are much more human than either of the other bench trio members (who im just using as examples). that's why i personally draw him with the longer hair, horns, and tail, just because to me it feels more comfortable to make a clear visual distinction between c and cc.

if you want to depict characters looking closer to the cc's thats fine, you can do that. im just saying how i personally think about designing characters.

One of the weird things about American culture is the tendency to refer to things by brand name, as opposed to the product name.

For example, I’ve known people to say Kleenex when they meant tissue. I’ve heard people use Hoover instead of vacuum.

And it gets to a point with certain things that some people can’t distinguish the difference.

Weedwhacker is a brand. How many people know the real term is “string trimmer”? Jell-O is a brand. And it’s so pervasive that people call literally any gelatin dessert “jello” even if it’s not made by Jell-O. Tupperware! That’s a brand!

The one thing that constantly messes with my head, though:

DUMPSTER IS A BRAND.

AND I HAVE GENUINELY NO IDEA WHAT TO CALL A DUMPSTER OTHER THAN A DUMPSTER.
