Lords Mobile x Shrek Collab

I don't play that game but im so stoked to see new shrek art ESPECIALLY NEW RENDERS FOR ARTIE AND MERLIN!! AND CHARMING'S THERE TOO. Puss has his old look and Shrek looks kinda off but other than that I LOVE IT!

It's so odd seeing charming stand next to Artie as if nothing happened 💀 But it's nice to see Artie referenced again, even tho i dislike shrek 3. And merlin seems to have a good time on the piano XD

She can sleep on command, and used it to great effect during the Royal Prison Princess Riot Thing that happened in Shrek 3. She has a brief instance of (presumably) non-voluntary sleepiness in a previous movie, but we love ourselves a girl who weaponises her so-called curse! (Also, she's so pretty in entirely non-fairytale-standard ways! Freckles (and a couple moles), round face, straight light/medium brown hair, and, though it's a bit hard to tell with her empress waistline dress, we can tell she's definitely got some meat on her bones! Solid, but in a subtle way. Plus, just look at her confident grin, that sassy pose, and her "I Dare You" little chin tilt - augh! I love her!!!!!)

She used her sleepiness to her advantage to trip up guards by passing tf out in front of them. She can also kick ass. We love a baddie

Jing Beiyuan:

Bestie has gone thru so much in his previous lives and in his seventh life he just wants to nap and vibe (and maybe pet the venomous sable kept by his next door neighbor). When someone tries to chew him out he claims to have a disease that can make a person sleep for 60+ years.

In general he's so character. He commits crimes. His best friend is a guy who helped kill him in his first life. It took getting murdered by his soulmate 5 times for Beiyuan to fall out of love with the man. Snakes love him. He was a bug once. His current boo was a Chinese analogue of the Grim Reaper in past life. He is stunningly beautiful but it only becomes apparent in the second book in the series which is not from his POV. He speaks nonsense fluently. He's so much <3

The sleepiest political intrigue protagonist I have ever seen. He canonically slept for 63 years in front of the Three Life Rock in the underworld, after he wanted to just "close his eyes" for a bit. When he is reincarnated, he spends most of his time napping. He's found in the courtyard, in his room, in his study, anywhere in his house, he can be found napping. His friend becomes so concerned about this that he has a physician check him. But he's not ill, just sleepy! Nothing wrong with him just a chronic case of Want To Nap

He's lived several lives and died in horrible ways in his previous ones so in the current one he likes to just chill. He sleeps a lot and only gets involved in the plot after his future husband drags him into it and honestly? Valid. Let my man rest.

Hello everyone! Welcome to our Valentine's Week mini Self Ship event!

From February 12th to the 18th, I'd like to invite you all to participate in a self ship event all about love! This is meant to be a low-effort, laid-back event where the hardest thing you'll probably have to do is interact with other people 😅 Each day will have a different theme for every type of f/o and self shipper! The themed days are listed below:

February 12th - Familial F/o Day! This day will be all about focusing on your familial f/os! Parents, siblings, kids, or any other character you consider part of your family. ❤️❤️

February 13th - Platonic F/o Day! This day is dedicated to all our fictional besties!! Give some appreciation to the f/os that are there for a good laugh and a shoulder to cry on. 💛💛

February 14th- Romantic F/o Day! Of course, Valentine's Day itself will be dedicated to the special f/os in our lives who are there for us through thick and thin. Our f/os love us every day and we love them, but we'll give them extra love today! 🩷🩷

February 15th - Self Love Day! Sure, it can be argued that all of self ship is a form of self love, but I really want us all to focus on it today, by thinking about and maybe even listing out the things that our f/os would especially love about us. 💝💝

February 16th - February 18th - F/o Takeover & Letter Writing Weekend! This one is a bit of a player's choice; option one, an f/o takeover! Y'all know the drill on that one by now, let your f/os of choice answer questions on your blog for the weekend. ❤️ Option two, for those not into takeovers, is to spend the weekend writing love letters to your f/os! They can be as short or long as you like, while also making as few or as many as you'd want to. I'd also like to highly encourage sending out f/o letters to your fellow self shippers from their own f/os! ❤️

There we have it! That's our weekend, laid out in its entirety. However, these are more guidelines than strict rules. You can really run the week any way you like, as long as you're enjoying yourself!

I would also like to add that this month, for those who don't know, is Black History Month, so while you focus on your ships, don't forget to show some love to my black brothers and sisters in the self ship community as well! 🧡🧡🧡

I'll have some more suggestions on things to do below the cut, but I'll end it here up top, because this is long enough as it is. Feel free to reblog to get the word around, and for just one week, let's only think about love. ❤️💝🥺💝❤️

Now then, here are some suggestions on things to do over the week on our themed f/o days:

For our creative types, you could create some art and doodles, writing and drabbles, gifs, screenshots, or any other type of content for your f/os of the day.

For those who want a more chill experience, just some good ol' gushing will work perfect! I'll also be trying to make some short ask games full of questions for each themed day.

For the self-love day in the 15th, I highly encourage everyone to make a list of things that their f/os love about them. Of course not everything is always perfect, so if you'd like, you can also talk about your flaws and the way that your f/os would still love you with them. I don't wanna see any self deprecation though, because I know all of you are much more wonderful than you may think! ❤️❤️

Lastly, for the weekend, as I said earlier I would love to see people sending out letters to other self shippers. If anyone remembers the To My S/i events from a few years back, as much as I would love to run an event like that, I know that's setting some people up for disappointment when they don't receive any letters, so I want it to be something that's encouraged but not expected. That being said, it's still highly encouraged! Even if you're worried about how accurately you may write someone's f/o, I believe you should still give it a try anyway! 💝💝💝

That's about all the suggestions I have, except for this last one: while this week is about love for our f/os, I still wanna see love for our fellow self shippers with plenty of interaction going around, even something as small as a reblog or question sent for an ask game makes a big difference! And remember, just like the New Radicals said, "you only get what you give."

im actually really surprised with how much shrekfest's ending stings. it’s something that I look forward to every year, especially since I’ve been blessed by living within walking distance from it.

im super thankful for this last year though. the crowds were more intimate and smaller than the previous year. people that went were there because they love the fest, not for social media clout. the independent artists were incredible and I got some super cute pictures. the bands were fab as always. and hey! I got to meet shrek himself. not to mention, it was a shared experience with chuck.

anyway, until the swamp opens again, have a happily ever after ogres! 🧅 💚

When i conceived Gwynn she wasnt going to be charming's love interest. During the process the relationship sort of appeared on its own. I thought that maybe a romance between them could actually work! Considering charming's storyline in shrek 3 was joining the villains it made a bit sense for his new fling to be part of the outcasts. But also the fairytale hero going with someone traditionally associated with villainy makes it a cool parallel to shrek & fiona. Not to mention Gwynn has no qualms standing up to charming so she challenges him in ways other characters can't.

I would say their arcs involve learning to live outside labels and archetypes. Charming doesn't have to be a hero or a villain he can be himself, that what matters. Gwynn doesn't have to spend her whole life obsessed with survival, she can let her hair down and enjoy herself

Honestly the Trolls movies are THE spiritual successor to shrek. I think a lot of controversy boils down to the movies not being as deep and edgy as Shrek, but i Also think it's misogyny. Trolls has important female characters and girly stuff like pop & bright colors, and a lot of merch is geared towards young girls. and we all know how society sees young girls.
