we as self shippers need to be the main character more. we gotta view ourselves as awesome and epic and we always get the girl/guy and they SWOON head over heels for us. none of this side character stuff. love interest is typical and I get the appeal but come on. we can aim higher. main character who everyone watches in the TV show and wonders who our endgame is, rather than hoping we ARE the endgame. this is MY ship IM driving it and IM IRRESISTABLE AND AWESOME!!!! my f/os have to seduce ME and work for it while I'm busy doing awesome adventures or being super plot relevant

i just think polyam self ships are so safe and secure to me.? like if someone in the group is unavailable theres another there to lean on. and if youre not around you can trust that the others won't be without until youre back, even though it isn't the same without you there. you know.

i love the idea of your f/o being so protective of you… not in a jealous or possessive way, but in a way that comes from them wanting to keep you from being hurt. most of us have been hurt badly by someone else before, at least once, in a way that changes a part of us for life. your f/o knows this history of yours better than anyone, and if they notice someone pushing your boundaries or flying obvious red flags, they would stand so close beside you. if you’re scared or confused, they’d want you to talk to them and lean on them. they wouldn’t let you get hurt again. they know what that does to you, and they’d mow down anything or anyone who wants to harm you.
