sorry for the dumb question - but do characters have the names on their skeleton (i.e lady macbeth) or do we give them names?
𝓽𝓱𝓪𝓽'𝓼 𝓷𝓸𝓽 𝓪 𝓭𝓾𝓶𝓫 𝓺𝓾𝓮𝓼𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 𝓪𝓽 𝓪𝓵𝓵 , but something i contemplated about too ! in the end , i decided to simply keep their ‘names’ from the plays ( so those that are in their skeletons ) , so it doesn’t complicate things and keeps the same atmosphere !

Note
Before using a faceclaim not on the list in the skeleton, are we supposed to check with you if it's alright?
𝓲𝓽'𝓼 𝓷𝓸𝓽 𝓷𝓮𝓬𝓮𝓼𝓼𝓪𝓻𝔂 ! as long as you feel it’s a good fit , and it fits the age / ethnicity requirements , feel free to go ahead and apply - if there are any concerns , we’ll reach out to you before accepting the app . but if you want to make sure the fc is suitable , absolutely feel free to check with us !

𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓳𝓾𝓼𝓽 𝓵𝓲𝓴𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓪𝓽 , all of our skeletons are released ! with that comes the second stage of our group - the chance for you guys to send apps in . we’ll be 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 tomorrow , saturday 18th - specifically at 2 PM est / 6 PM gmt .
at the same time , we’ll also start taking reservations - you can send one in for the role and fc you plan on applying for . sending in a reserve doesn’t mean you have the role guaranteed , but since there can only be three apps for every role , one of those spots is reserved for you , if you send your app in within the following 24 hours . besides , other applicants are discouraged to apply for a different role with a fc that’s already on reserve / been applied for !

CLAUDIUS. you loved your late husband , hamlet ; you don’t love claudius the same way . that is not to say you feel negatively about him , quite the opposite - you find them gracious and hold them in high esteem . after recovering from the shock of your spouse’s death , you knew you had to act quickly to keep the title of the queen - suggesting a marriage between you two seemed to be the rational option .
HAMLET. your only child . you treasured them , watched them with a caring eye , and loved them just as mothers are expected to love their children . but you never found them suitable to rule , and when faced with the decision whether to let them take the crown , or help claudius sit on the throne for now , the decision was easy . still , you thought you’d be happy having them back home , but their resentful and melancholic behaviour turned that into a lie .
ROSENCRANTZ & GUILDENSTERN. it was your idea to call them back from the university they were visiting alongside hamlet . you see them as loyal pawns , as the kinds of courtiers willing to do anything to get into their ruler’s good graces - even to spy on their friend . you truly hope their help can be valuable , and bring in a hope - since once you figure out what’s wrong with hamlet , you can once again start enjoying your life , and leave the difficulties of the last months in the past .

CORDELIA. you hoped to marry them for years . not for the simple , obvious reasons your father was seeking the union for - the end of war between your two countries , but also for the stories of their strong and honest nature that found their way even to your castle . you offered the union , but was only met with hesitant reply - that was until their banishment from england . now , you’ve been married for a few months , and are preparing to take back both of your rightful places .
MACDUFF. always having fine abilities in easily reading the tensions and dynamics between members of your father’s court , you know macduff never trusted macbeth - the man you’re sure murdered your father , and then put the blame on you . luckily you fled before it was too late . you hope macduff will be the person to form an alliance against them with , and hope they’ll be willing to listen .
GUILDENSTERN. you stumbled upon them years ago , in an accident you normally wouldn’t remember , if it wasn’t for their amusing silly audacity that stucked in your head . you knew them for barely a few minutes when they managed to shoot offensive jokes about you left and right . your father got mad and ordered their imprisonment , even though you were strongly against it . luckily , in the end , they were released .

GONERIL & REGAN. in a moment of foolishness , in a rash decision so typical for you , you chose your two oldest daughters as the heirs of the kingdom . they didn’t hesitate to shower you in false flattery to achieve their ends . you kept your title of the king , but otherwise , you gave all your power , estates and lands to them , half and half . now you’re starting to see their true colors - they constantly disrespect you , and even letting you stay at their house , now you gave them everything , proved to be too much of a bother .
CORDELIA. your youngest daughter , the one who refused to tell you empty words full of hypocrisy ; so you banished them . you hadn’t had any contact with them until the letter came that their married the son of the scottish king . though your immense pride doesn’t let you to admit it even to yourself , you slowly start to see the wrongs of your decision .
KENT. you were never a brilliant , cunning leader greatly deserving of praise ; that is perhaps why you always felt the need to make up for it with demonstrative , grandious gestures . but kent , unlike others , always respected you , for some reason . it came as a surprise when they dared to talk against your decision of banishing cordelia - so you banished them as well . you have no idea they’re now disguised as the servant that always keeps you company .

GLOUCESTER. your father . however , their status of an earl doesn’t bring you any advantages , as it was always made distinctly clear that you were only their bastard . after your mother , a commoner , died , they took care of you , but you always felt that the kind of love they showed to their legitimate child lacked . now you put together a plan to become their heir by convincing them your older brother is plotting against them ; even though you’re making every one of the accusations up .
EDGAR. your half brother , conceived in the proper way - in a marriage bed . there hasn’t been a day when you didn’t feel envious of them ; without any effort , they had everything served to them on a silver plate . but now , they would come to pay for it . though you pretend to dearly love them , you already put to motion your cunning strategy - showing your father fake letters , ones suggesting getting rid off gloucester , supposedly written by edgar .
GONERIL. you’re no more than mere acquitances , but you don't think it‘d have to stay this way forever . you’re well aware of their weakness for pretty things , and you’re ready to put your charms and good looks to a suitable use . if you got close to them and won their favors , especially with the new power they hold after their father endowed them with half the kingdom , who says you’d have to settle for only the title of an earl , and not look even higher .

HAMLET. what are the chances for a commoner , a son of a low ranked soldier , to form such a tight bond with the prince ? you met during your teenage years , a brief meeting , and been inseparable since . they provided you with the resources so that you could go to the university with them , and when they asked you to come back with them , you didn’t hesitate . after all , you’d give everything you hold dear to them - your life , your heart , your soul .
LAERTES. you’ve never carried on a proper conversation . to be perfectly honest , they kind of scare you . hamlet may be the prince , but you always felt like laertes was the one carrying themself around like the future king . you always admired the easiness and confidence radiating from them , but think they aren’t the kind to associate with those lacking noble blood .
EDGAR. you’ve randomly met them at the danish court years ago , just months after hamlet took you under their wings . you fancied them , a feeling much lighter and simpler than what you were used for . you still quite don’t know how , or what exactly , happened , but you spent the month romantically and physically involved . then they completely disappeared from your life just as quickly as they entered it .

ROSENCRANTZ. even as a little child , you couldn’t stand to be alone for a minute ; it scared you , and made you look like a fool when others saw you talking to yourself . that’s how the two of you met - desperate for a companion , you simply walked up to them , started throwing jokes , and just like that , you were never alone again . they’re not only your best friend , but someone you could never again imagine your life without .
GERTRUDE. when claudius and gertrude called you back to the danish court from the wittenberg university after king hamlet died , you returned alongside rosencrantz . they want you to subtly discover the source of hamlet’s strange behaviour , and though you consider hamlet to be your friend , there’s something thrilling and compelling about playing a secret game .
MALCOLM. you’ve met them before , years ago , a brief meeting that almost resulted in you being executed . you joked around , as you do , but failed to see who the mocking point was aimed at - malcolm , the son of scottish king . while they waved it off with a roll of their eyes , their father beside them wasn’t so forgiving ; but thanks to your closeness to the danish royal family , you were eventually freed .

KING LEAR. you always saw your father as the source of everything you hold dear in life - self-indulgence , decadence , and any and all the material pleasure you can find in the world . when you saw the opportunity to have it all , even without their involvement , you grasped it , whispering sweet lies into their ear . now , you have what you wanted - but still have to deal with the unwelcome visits of your father at your mansion ; but losing your patience way too easily , you just keep throwing them out .
ALBANY. oh , your husband . you two were never meant to work ; you loathe their feeble nature and inability to live life to its fullest . as soon as it became clear they couldn’t satisfy you in any aspect of your life , replying with only silence to your wide and explosive provocations , you lost all interest in them . now you know you need them as an ally in the fight against your father , but cannot help the boredom they personify .
OSWALD. you never looked at the social status of your lovers ; and your steward certainly isn’t the worst of them . it isn’t love that flows between you , but rather lust and the understanding of what the other needs - you , pleasure and everpresent excitement ; them , your favor and a growing supply of wealth . it helps that they don’t have a problem to do literally anything for it .

Will the characters' fates mirror their fates in the plays?
𝓽𝓱𝓮𝔂 𝓬𝓪𝓷 , 𝓫𝓾𝓽 𝓽𝓱𝓮𝔂 𝓭𝓸𝓷'𝓽 𝓱𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝓽𝓸 ! it’s all up to the player . while we’ll be trying to move the plot more or less in the direction of the plays , the idea is that here , within the new circumstances , it can change profoundly . we’ll always aproach the player , when the time for a plot point connected to their character is more or less supposed to be , and ask them , whether they wish to carry on with it , to change it and put a twist to it , or not carry it out at all . but we suppose that a lot of the characters’ fates will change , and that thanks to that we’ll create a new and unique plot progression for the group !
