While we’re on the topic of TGWDLM:R, here’s a reminder appropriate/not appropriate ways to show your love for the show if you’re seeing it live:

✅ Cheering/clapping when the house lights go down: yes absolutely!! It’s an exciting moment!!

✅ Cheering/clapping at the end of numbers: 10000% yes!! Perfect time to show appreciation

✅ Laughing at jokes: of course! It’s a funny show

✅ Cheering/clapping at intermission: yes! They just killed the first act. Clap through the whole intermission if you want

✅ Organic reactions: no problem! But the key is organic (I’m thinking about the audience reaction in the scene where Bill tries to save Alice as an example - people are in the moment! They’re invested!)

✅ Cheering/clapping at the end of the show: fucking absolutely!!!! Go wild!! Give Lauren the fourth wall break nightmare she deserves!!

🚫 Screaming/cheering/clapping over the start of the opening number: no! If you’re still going when Jeff starts singing you’ve gone too long

🚫 Screaming/cheering/clapping at people’s entrances: no! I know you love them. I know you want to let them know. But save it for those appropriate moments. The comedic timing of this show was already great and they’ve finessed it even more, so don’t stop the flow. Even for cameos I know people will be excited about! Even for your favourite actor/character!

🚫 Any kind of heckling: definitely not!! This is not an interactive show. They don’t need you to make jokes or give commentary. Same for exaggerated dramatic reactions

🚫 Saying the lines/singing the songs: hard fucking no!!!!! You know them all. Same! But keep it in your head. People aren’t paying to hear you, they’re paying to hear the cast. Save the singing/quoting along at loud for the digital ticket/youtube version at home!

Multiple members of the cast have expressed their wish for good audience etiquette. They’ve worked so so hard on this show so let them perform it the way they want to without interruption, as well intentioned as it may be! I promise they will still feel the love!

Being a SK fan and a TCB fan is hard because on the one hand

It’s incredible that TGWDLM:R has raised almost 5x the budget of the original and that it’s become more funded than even the 10 year anniversary, AND is the highest funded theatre kickstarter ever. And I’m so glad they get to see how much support there is for it after being worried it’s not something people would be interested in

But on the other hand

TCB deserved so much better for THEIR 10 year anniversary and I can’t help thinking how much they could have done with the money raised for this one show when they’ve done more shows than I can count with their $220k budget including so many international shows

LITERALLY. The one thing I’m thrilled about is that a show Lauren’s directing that she was so excited for but nervous about how it would be received got funded so fast, because she so deserves it. Otherwise it really does make me mad. I know TCB is a lot smaller but fucking come on, $250k in 5 hours? Compared to their month long slog even though they were doing SEVEN projects, including international travel?? We could have used even a TENTH of this energy

Btw, my take on the whole Space Baby ticket thing is mainly I just think Starkid should hire someone for social media management and marketing. I think that’s kind of my main issue with them as a company. I’m definitely not mad at them, I understand that as artists they do have to find ways to make money and I am in complete understanding of that. However I think that the lack of transparency is an issue and it just kind of boils down to none of them really being trained in that field. To my knowledge they have multiple people running to social media and they do not have a dedicated person specifically for marketing and I honestly I think that would be really beneficial. I understand I full time marketing person would be pricey though, but I think maybe hiring someone on a freelance basis when a project is coming up and needs to be marketed would do absolute wonders for the company. Again I’m really not mad at them, but I do think they should probably recognize that things like this just might not be in their skill set and that’s completely fine and there’s nothing wrong with that. The lack of communication and transparency with people who are financially supporting them is an issue that I think needs to be addressed.

Cinderella’s Castle Digital Ticket Pay It Forward Campaign!

Hi guys! So I’m going to be running a little pay it forward campaign for Cinderella’s Castle where we as a fandom can come together and buy digital tickets for those who might not be able to get them right now!

As the digital tickets are not currently available and I’m still figuring out some of the logistics, I’m currently doing sign ups for the scheme!
