You checked your watch, sighing as you waited for Lip. He promised he’d be here.

You got up, grabbing your bag and getting ready to walk out, Lip running in frantically.

“Y/N! Wait, I’m sorry! I was helping Karen!”

“With what, sex education? Don’t bother Lip. You can’t see that she doesn’t love you, she loves your dick.”

“Please, you don’t understand! She needs my help, she’s pregnant and it’s mine.”

You stared at him, eyes wide open in disbelief. Lip closed his mouth, jaw locking as he realised what he had said.

“You know what? Congratulations. Have a nice life Lip, with your fuck buddy who’s married and baby that probably isn’t even fucking yours. We’re done.”

You stormed out of the restaurant, ignoring Lip running down the street, trying to convince you to stay.

“Y/N just fucking listen to me!”

Tears started falling as you turned around, looking into Lip’s beautiful blue eyes. The eyes you fell in love with, the eyes that comforted you.

“I gave you a chance Lip. I waited for you for so fucking long, hoping maybe you’d come to your senses and realise that Karen didn’t love you. She never loved you Lip! You were just someone she fucked, just like everyone else.”

Lip stayed quiet, staring at you.

“That’s it? You’re just, leaving? Not even gonna give me a second chance?”

You shook your head, Lip running his hand through his hair out of frustration.

You gulped, looking at him one last time, scanning his face for any sign of remorse.

Tears dropped to the pavement, head down as you ignored her pleas for you to just listen to her.

You turned around, fed up.

“Just leave me alone Jinsoul! You’ve hurt me enough, can’t you fucking see that?”

Jinsoul stopped, eyes wide at your sudden burst of anger.

“I swear Y/N, she meant nothing to me. I was lonely and you weren’t there and she was the closest thing to you, please, we can make this work!”

You scoffed, rolling your eyes at her sob story.

“You were the one who left Jinsoul. I waited for you. I missed you, but I never slept with someone else, did I? Go fuck yourself.”

You turned on your heel, blinking back tears as she continued running after you.

You gulped, your thoughts escaping your mouth in a whisper.

You treaded home slowly, salty tears mixing with the rain as they fell from your eyes. You had loved him, cherished him, you did everything for him.

But he still chose her.

He had called you over, nervousness evident in his voice. He assured you he was okay, and told you to come quickly. You hurried, fearing something had happened. He opened the door with a smile, greeting you with a hug. He sat you down on the couch, grinning as he told you the news.

“I have a girlfriend!”

Your whole world crashed, plastering a fake smile on your face as you congratulated him. He seemed so happy, you couldn’t ruin this for him. But..you also couldn’t help but think that should be you. It was you who was there for him at his worst, you who comforted him, you who loved and cared for him.

But it was you who always came second.

You couldn’t even be mad at the girl, she seemed lovely. She had a beautiful smile, nice car, happy life. And now a perfect boyfriend. You could deal with it at first, ignoring her and pretending she didn’t exist. But then, she started trying to set you up with her friends.

First was Soobin, he was sweet, but didn’t seem interested. Taehyun was kind, but cared more about his music. Hueningkai was nice, but felt more like a younger brother than a possible partner.

And then..Yeonjun.

Yeonjun was everything you could’ve dreamed of. Funny, kind, talented and a gorgeous smile. He was such a gentleman, always making sure you were happy and comfortable. You found yourself slowly falling for him, eventually taking your relationship to the next level. But despite the love you thought you had for him, in the back of your mind, the small voice reminded you that you could never love someone as much as you loved him.

You felt bad for leading Yeonjun on, trying desperately to forget about your lost love, but you couldn’t. Because as amazing and kind Yeonjun was, he could never be enough. Simply put;
