More & More! Headcanons || Always Accepting !! || @ordonraised

✨: What motivates them? Is it a deep rooted passion/motivation, or is it something they struggle with from time to time?

Zelda is motivated by a few different things, to be honest. But ultimately, her motivation is saving Hyrule from the calamity -- but in unlocking her sealing powers and in her research that is her main goal. She did struggle with keeping motivated in unlocking her powers, though. There was a time when she felt like she was never going to unlock them, and when she was hurled into a Kingdom that needed her to unlock them as quickly as she could, it placed A LOT of pressure on her. Nights were often spent feeling like a failure, crying into her pillow -- she would often wish that her mother or SOMEONE was here to guide her and give her advice.

In her research, her motivations were the same. Zelda ultimately was trying to find an alternative means to keeping Hyrule safe since she HADN’T unlocked her powers. She felt that her powers were unpredictable, and that if she couldn’t unlock them at least there would be a sort of backup through the things that she researched. Any spare time was spent in her research.. at least, up until her father had scolded her for spending so much time on it. She actually felt like she had been making a difference too... at least, up until her fathers scoldings. His harsh words were enough to completely tear her down, and she was left feeling like a failure one again.

Zelda was also motivated by Link and the rest of the Champions ( but mainly Link. ) As Urbosa says in one of the memories, she saw Link as a living reminder of her own failures. Even without her realizing it, he became a motivator to her -- she wanted to be someone that he could be proud of. She had been so in her head that she had always thought that he thought of her as a lousy, failure of a Princess ( even though he never said.. or even really implied such a thing. ) But even so, proving to him that she was a Princess he could be be proud of was also a big motivator to her in the end. 

🔅: What’s a place that holds special meaning to them? Why?

Truth be told, there are a few places that Zelda holds near and dear to her heart. Before the Calamity, one of those places would be a certain location in the Irch Plains. It was a tree on top of a hill, not only was the view breathtaking, but it was also one of the areas where she could always find Silent Princesses. It is not any sort of extraordinary place, but it was a place where she felt she was truly able to relax and unwind when times got rough. 

After the Calamity had been defeated, there were a few places that held a special meaning to Zelda. One place simply being the ruins of Hyrule ( both the Castle and Castle Town, ) while it pained her to see her old home in state it’s currently in, overrun with monsters and malice, it was still her Kingdom. One day she would like to try to restore it all. Another place that holds a special meaning is her NEW home. Zelda currently lives with Link in his home in Hateno Village. While she may have lost her old home, she is looking forward to making new memories with Link in her new one.

Link had been cooking for a few minutes now, of course, he was hungry as the rumbling in his stomach would only get louder and louder. Though he had to wait until he finished cooking, after a few extra minutes, the meal was finally finished. 

Soon he walked out with a large plate of meat curry. Then, he went back to the kitchen and brought back a large plate of assorted greens. Which was quickly followed by a third trip to bring out a large plate of fruits.

With that he finally sat down on his side of the table. A small smile growing at the meal he had made for the two.

                   HER STOMACH GROWLED AFTER a long day of helping others. There had been issues with one of the Divine Beasts - and it took nearly all day to figure out JUST what had happened and fix it. This left Zelda feeling thoroughly worn out and when Link offered to make dinner... of course she wouldn’t refuse. She couldn’t, his cooking was something she quickly grew to fall in love with. At the very least, she had set the table for the two of them, it was the least she could do since he was making their dinner. Zelda couldn’t help but smile when seeing his own. 

“ It looks fantastic... thank you, Link. I’m.. not sure where to begin !! ”

PSA: how to format new asks with the “update”.

So Tumblr has in its infinite wisdom decided to make it impossible to make it impossible to add formatting to reply to an ask and have it be formatted to make them more “streamlined”. 

Anyway, I’ve worked out how to do that anyway. It’s actually super simple, if slightly more labour intensive than it should have to be.

                  WHILE SHE DID LOOK BEWILDERED, it was not because she was lost. Rather... she was intrigued --- that mask !! It was something Zelda was sure she had read about before... in one of the journals she’d came across that were long left behind. 

“ No... I am not lost. I just saw your mask and got curious -- is it... authentic ?? ”

There was no real reason for the knight to be awake at such an early time anymore. There was no urgent business he had to attend to anymore. Hyrule was at peace now that the calamity was mostly contained to that of the ruins of the castle. Though it seemed like habits did not go away so easily, since he would sometimes go days with very little rest when the calamity was still at large. So it seemed to have stuck with him even now during their time of peace. Along with that, he also had no reason to carry his sword on him anymore unless they were traveling, since the monsters were not around as much as they used to be. Though, he also didn’t feel right unless he had the Master Sword with him, it felt like it was apart of him. Something he was sure that came with being a knight as well.

So, with his free time, he just mostly stood outside taking the sun in while doing light exercise to keep himself awake. Truthfully though, he was quite bored of just the lounging around he was doing as of late. He knows Zelda needed her time to recover, however he had his own limits. Though, when he heard the door open from behind him. He turned around to face her, his head tilting a bit to the side.

Of course like always, he did not speak. He just stood there and listened to her request. After thinking it over a bit, he gave a bit of a nod to her request.The castle would be a fine day time adventure. Plus, he was now curious on the aspect of exploring the castle now. Making sure the Malice was still being kept inside.

With that, he turned back around so his back was towards her. Looking over his shoulder, he moved his head towards the direction of the castle. Showing that he was ready to go out whenever she was.

                   SHE WAITS PATIENTLY FOR HIS ANSWER, hands are folded together as she waits him in silence. Then she watches him nod his head, agreeing to accompany her. Even if they were no longer in a time where it was necessarily, he had always been her silent knight. She didn’t expect him to speak, nor would she force him. By this point, Zelda had already grown accustomed to his body language and motions and she rarely had trouble understanding what he was trying to say. Even if she would like to hear his voice again.. at least every once in awhile...

But that was all beside the point, a wide grin grew on the Princess’ featues after he’d agreed. The Hyrule library was quite expansive and she was looking forward to spending the day searching for books that could aid in her research while there. If there was enough time, she might even try to stop by her old bedroom and study to see if anything could be salvaged from the ruins. May it be some of her old research notes, her diary or whatever else she may be able to find. 

“ Do you think we should bring large backpacks ??  I’m... not sure just how many books are there that I would like to read... being able to bring them back home would be convenient. But what do you think, Link ?? ”

HEADCANON .03 - LANGUAGE

Being the Princess of Hyrule, it was important for being able to confidently speak the languages of the neighboring kingdoms and regions that were around the area that didn’t speak Hylian. Once Zelda was old enough to read, she had been taught the basics of these languages. Despite her being quite busy when she got older. ( Between her research and her attempts at unlocking her sealing powers. ) she still tried her best to set aside the time to study and perfect these languages she learned about in her past, as well as languages she learned about during her research. 

While she is naturally able to read and speak Hylian, Zelda is also able to speak the language of the Gerudo, she’s still trying to learn the full alphabet - however she can translate some BASIC sentences. Once the Calamity had been defeated Zelda was able to finally dedicate time to learning the alphabet. Through her research on the ancient technology, Zelda can also FULLY understand the ancient Sheikah alphabet used for the Sheikah Slate and Shrines. She also is fluent in sign language !!

                   IT HAD BEEN FAR TOO LONG since she had been given words of encouragement. Simply hearing the spirits words was enough to bring tears to her eyes. Zelda had grown used to her fathers harsh scoldings -- to the murmurs of the townspeople around speaking ill of her. It felt everyone around her thought of her as a failure... she could count the number of people that didn’t on a single hand. 

She gives a swift nod of her head as she listened to the others words. Something like this was... exactly what she needed to hear. A moment is taken to regain her composure as well as wipe the tears that had began to swell in her eyes. “ Hearing that truly means a lot to me, thank you. ” There’s a flicker of a smile as she says this. “ You’re right... I should not be giving up just yet. There is still time, I must not lose hope. ”

“ As for who told me this... while it was not directly. It was my fathers recent scoldings... and the whispers of the townspeople that led me to feel this way. ” She admits, her words are spoken softly, almost in a whisper.
