is the new url for this blog! I was finally able to recover this site which apparently has been dead for 2 years already lol. I originally created this blog back when I was like 16 or 17 years old (I’m 24 now), I was craaaazy about THG (I still am), but then I had to do adult stuff and I had to leave this blog to different moderators and I just lost contact with them. Anyhow! We’re back in ze businezzzzz

Also, for those asking if I have other fandoms, yes I do. My current obession is Game of Thrones ;)

Hey, I have recently just started reading The Hunger Games and I was wondering about one thing. Panem only covers North America, so what happend to the rest of the world when this "global catastrophy" hit?

Also RE Katniss's ethnicity, District 12's description (the terrain and main trade being coal mining) suggest that the area is likely in West Virginia. The description of the district is very reminiscent of pre-unionized WV coal mining towns. A lot of the people in this area during that period and even today are of Italian or Scotts-Irish decent. The olive-skinned people from the Seam are likely of Italian heritage and the blonde, blue-eyed characters that live in town are likely Scotts-Irish.

Re Katniss' ethnicity, when she first meets Rue and Thresh it's made explicit that this is the first time she's ever seen dark-skinned people. So she isn't black and neither was her dad (who is described as having typical looks for their district). Best guess is her mother is Northern European looking (blonde hair, etc) and her father of possibly Mediterranean descent or similar.

I saw that anons question and I wanted to point out that prim and the mom are both blonde. Which probably means that they are white, and so is katniss cuz they're related. Although it never like really specifies it, because all that was described was that she has grey eyes, olive skin, and brown hair. But like based off of what we know about prim, their family is white.

Josh said he was in charge of the kill switch for Jennifer’s mic. The guys were constantly giving Jennifer a hard time - it was actually really funny to watch.
