The 'Application Support' contains the media file, plug-ins, themes, and other items the applications will need routinely. There is nothing to purge, unless you uninstall an application. For example, my GarageBand version is keeping a whopping amount of 50 GB of sound files, learn to play lessons, and similar in this folder.

Usually the uninstallers for an application should remove the items from Application Support.

Delete music and music videos

How to delete items in the Apple Music app

Open the Apple Music app and find the item that you want to delete. If you see the download button next to the item, the item is stored in the cloud, not on your device. When items are stored in the cloud, they don't use any storage on your device.

On your Mac, hover your pointer over the item, then click the More options button that appears. Or on your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone, press and hold the item that you want to delete.

Tap or click Remove.

From the menu that appears, choose Remove or Remove Download. Or choose 'Delete from Library' to remove the item from all devices that you use with Apple Music.

Etch A Sketch is a mechanical drawingtoy invented by André Cassagnes of France and subsequently manufactured by the Ohio Art Company(1) and now owned by Spin Master of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

An Etch A Sketch has a thick, flat gray screen in a red plastic frame. There are two white knobs on the front of the frame in the lower corners. Twisting the knobs moves a stylus that displaces aluminum powder on the back of the screen, leaving a solid line. The knobs create lineographic images. The left control moves the stylus horizontally, and the right one moves it vertically.

The Etch A Sketch was introduced near the peak of the Baby Boom on 12 July 1960 for $2.99 (equivalent to $26 in 2019).(2) It went on to sell 600,000 units(2) that year and is one of the best known toys of that era. In 1998, it was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame at The Strong, in Rochester, New York. In 2003, the Toy Industry Association named Etch A Sketch one of the 100 most memorable toys of the 20th century.(3) The Etch A Sketch has since sold over 100 million units world wide.(4)

Mechanics(edit)

Basic mechanism of operating a 2-dimensional plotter. The numbered components correspond to those that move the stylus horizontally, and the lettered components with those that move it vertically. The device has ten pulleys, six cables, two rails, and a stylus. Pulley 1 (single-groove) connects to pulley 2 (triple-groove) via a short infinite reciprocating cable. Pulley 2 connects to 3 (double-groove) via a longer reciprocating cable attached along its upper course to one end of the vertical rail (6), and then a third cable runs from 2 to 3, 4, and 5 (4 and 5 are single-groove) via another much longer loop of cable between 4 and 5 to the other end of the vertical rail. Likewise, A connects to B, B connects to C and attaches to the horizontal rail (F), and finally B connects to C, D, and E, attaching to F at its other end between D and E. Turning pulley 1 counterclockwise makes 2 rotate the same way, and this makes all pulleys connected to 2 (3, 4, and 5) do the same. The rail these cables connect to (6, connection points marked in red) move to the left both at ends, making the stylus move in the same direction along the other rail (F). Clockwise movement of pulley 1 has the opposite effect. Pulleys A-E operate the same as 1-5, and act on the horizontal rail (F) to slide the stylus up and down along the vertical one (6).

The toy is a kind of plotter. The inside surface of the glass screen is coated with aluminium powder, which is then scraped off by a movable stylus, leaving a dark line on the light gray screen. The stylus is controlled by the two large knobs, one of which moves it vertically and the other horizontally. Turning both knobs simultaneously makes diagonal lines. To erase the picture, the user turns the toy upside down and shakes it. Doing this causes polystyrene beads to smooth out and re-coat the inside surface of the screen with aluminum powder. The 'black' line merely exposes the darkness inside the toy. Scraping out large 'black' areas allows enough light through to expose parts of the interior.

The Etch A Sketch toy was invented in the late 1950s by André Cassagnes,(5)(6)(7) an electrician with Lincrusta Co, who named the toy L'Écran Magique (The Magic Screen).(2) In 1959, he took his drawing toy to the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg, Germany. The Ohio Art Company saw it but had no interest in the toy. When Ohio Art saw the toy a second time, they decided to take a chance on the product. L'Écran Magique was soon renamed the Etch A Sketch and became the most popular drawing toy in the business. After a complex series of negotiations, The Ohio Art Company launched the toy in the United States in time for the 1960 Christmas season with the name 'Etch A Sketch'. Ohio Art supported the toy with a televised advertising campaign.(8)

Originally, the toy used a plate glass screen, which was criticized by safety advocates for being easily broken and a danger to children.(9) In November 1970, Consumers Union filed a petition with the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, asking for emergency action under the 1969 Child Protection and Toy Safety Act.(10) The Food and Drug Administration responded that the toy had been redesigned, replacing the glass plate with plastic.(11)

In 1995, the Etch A Sketch toy was featured in the 1995 Disney/Pixar animated film Toy Story, in a scene where a sentient one performs a 'quick draw' duel with Sheriff Woody. This 12-second feature had been enough to give a significant sales boost, requiring the production line to work overtime to meet demand. By 1999, the company had again fallen into severe financial trouble from canceled orders of various products, reaching a point where the solvency of the company was in question. However, the company recovered with the prudent decision to agree to again have an Etch A Sketch appear in an animated feature film – this time in 1999 sequelToy Story 2. This scene featured an Etch A Sketch being used to present sketches related to the investigation of Sheriff Woody was kidnapped by Al McWhiggin the toy collector and the owner of Al's Toy Barn. At 45 seconds, the scene in question was much longer than the scene in the original movie. The exposure from the highly successful Pixar movie resulted in sales of the toy increasing by 20 percent and ensured the survival of the company.(12)(13)

Etch A Sketch was manufactured in Bryan, Ohio until the company moved the manufacturing plant to Shenzhen, China in 2001.(14)

In France, its country of origin, Etch A Sketch was sold under the name of 'Télécran',(15) rather than L'Écran Magique.

In February 2016, the rights to the Etch A Sketch name and design were acquired by Toronto-based Spin Master Corporation.(16)

The Etch A Sketch Animator (known simply as 'The Animator' in Canada and Europe), debuted in 1987,(8) and featured a low-resolution dot matrix display and used two knobs for drawing, like a regular Etch A Sketch, with several buttons to manipulate the drawings. The initial price was $89.99. It had a few kilobytes of memory, capable of storing 12 frames of pictures in any combination up to 96 times. It contained a speaker, which made static-like sounds when the knobs were moved and during animations.(17)

In 1988, Ohio Art made an attempt to get into the computer/entertainment market by introducing a more advanced version of the Etch A Sketch Animator known as the Etch A Sketch Animator 2000. It featured a new laptop-like design instead of the classic Etch A Sketch form factor. The initial price was $139.99. It featured a bigger LCD screen with a higher resolution than the original Animator. It also featured 196 kilobytes of 'powerful computer memory'. Perhaps the biggest change was the removal of the knobs and the addition of 'The Magic Touchpad'. It was also capable of producing musical tones as opposed to the static-like tones of the original Animator. The Etch A Sketch Animator 2000 also had a cartridge slot for additional memory or game cartridges. Four cartridges were available: 'Fly By', a flight simulator game; 'Overdrive', a road racing game; 'Putt-Nuts', a miniature golf game; and 'Memory', a memory expansion cartridge. The price for one cartridge was $28.99. The Etch A Sketch Animator 2000 is capable of 22 frames of drawings and 99 frames of animation.

These are basically hand-held controllers that connect to a television-like handheld TV games and work like a regular Etch A Sketch, except on the television screen and with the addition of colors and sound effects.

There are a few practicing artists who use the Etch A Sketch to produce professional lineographic work. The artists make their work permanent by removing the aluminum powder. This is done either by drilling holes in the bottom of the toy or by removing the entire plastic backing. It is then resealed as a semi-permanent, shake-resistant piece of art.

If your SEO website practices do not border on spamming, you should not worry about anything and continue your work by creating great content for your Drupal website. So, if you are starting up SEO on your Drupal 7 website, you should do the following things. Install Google Analytics & Google Webmaster Tools. Previously vih.dk was a proud #1 in Google search rankings on the keyword “idrætshøjskole”, but now we slipped to 4th place. That is not satisfacory, so we had to step up over SEO-game. Recently the site was moved to Drupal 7 from a legacy site, and up until now we just relied on the basic structure of Drupal (which is already really good without enhancement).

However, we wanted to get back to number one on the Google search (we are still number one on the search at Bing)!

We focused on:

We focused on some simple elements to improve our position.

Good architecture. The urls for the pages are important in the eyes of Google.

Good content. We already had some decent content. We needed to improve how the content was marked up. We focused on the page title, meta description and the headings and the emphazised text.

Good backlinks. We tried getting former students, blogs and online magazine to write stories about us and to link back to our site to improve our search ranking. That is not the scope for this article.

The chosen modules:

Good architecture was easily achieved using path and pathauto. We just needed to make som sane choises.

Good content was improved by using page_title and metatags_quick. I could not figure out how to override the page title on a pr. node basis, but am still investigating that. In metatags_quick we just enabled the meta description for nodes and taxonomies, and we started entering some data.

Still waiting for extra modules:

Waiting for metatags. We were hoping that metatags had finished development, and I guess we are switching to that module when it is stable as it seems to incorporate the other modules.

Waiting for contentoptimizer. We installed the content optimizer and hoped that it would help our fairly inexperienced editors to provide optimized content. However, it seems that the module is a very early alpha. However, when it works, we will get back with some information about how our staff was able to benefit from the module.

So I recently migrated my web site to Drupal after running it in WordPress for several years. Not surprisingly for a redesign where all the URLs changed and much content was added, my traffic numbers cratered, but after some tinkering they've gone back up again. After this little experiment with SEO, here are some things I'd recommend to draw traffic to your Drupal site.

If you do nothing else, enable Clean URLs (admin/config/search/clean-urls). This gives you URLs like http://www.mysite.com/mypage instead of http://www.mysite.com/?q=87. Not only is this more intuitive for visitors, it helps search engine rankings because your actual subject matter is reflected in your links.

Install and enable Pathauto, which allows you to set human-readable naming conventions for nodes. In addition to being more usable, this can help improve search engine rankings.

Use the XML Sitemap module to generate a sitemap of your content, then submit your sitemap to the Google Webmaster and Bing Webmaster tools. XML Sitemap can also regenerate and resubmit itself automatically when Drupal cron is run.

Add the Metatag module, which allows to you set meaningful descriptions and page titles to appear in search rankings. Metatag has other useful features, like providing multilingual titles and descriptions (with the i18n module), the ability to set per-page archiving rules, and the ability to override a node's default meta tags (like the home page description, for example). You can use an analyzer like the the Yoast module below to assess the effectiveness of your meta tags.

Use the Redirect module to point old URLs to the new ones, and ensure that each redirect is returning a 301 (permanently moved) HTTP code to point web crawlers and analyzers to the new URL. Redirect also provides a convenient list of your top 404 errors and allows you to create redirects for them with one click.

Try the Yoast SEO module. Yoast SEO is a popular plugin for WordPress that has now found its way to Drupal. Yoast SEO isn't perfect yet -- as of this writing it's in beta -- but it provides some tips for optimizing your content. Try to get at least an 'OK' rating on all pages that you want to rank in the search engines.

Install Google Analytics: Google Analytics can provide detailed information about your content's popularity and the demographics of your visitors. Analytics can also be connected to any AdSense or AdWords campaigns you may be running to analyze the effectiveness of keywords or ad placement. Keep in mind that Analytics uses cookies and JavaScript, which can be blocked on the client side and might interfere with caching systems like Varnish. You might also want to exclude your own visits to avoid skewing your numbers.

Enable the Statistics module in core Drupal and allow it to track your 404 errors, referrers, and content pages. (Statistics does require some room in your database, so you probably want to clear your Drupal access log with a cron job periodically.) Since Statistics does its counting on the server side, it can provide some additional insights and its numbers will be somewhat different than client-side services like Analytics.

Make sure your site speed and download size are optimized by using a tool like Google PageSpeed. Install the Boost module, enable Drupal's blocks caching, and compress JS and CSS files for faster loading. If your host permits it, ensure your web server is performing adequate compression and cache control as well.

If you control your web server, deploy all your Drupal sites on a high-performance technology stack.

If you control your web server, ensure you're only running secure encryption protocols.

Ensure your robots.txt file permits thorough crawling and archiving of your site (the default included with Drupal is pretty solid). Webmaster suites like those of Bing and Google provide some tools for downloading and testing robots.txt.

Disable the /node default page if you aren't using it. Not only is /node a potential security hazard, it can hurt SEO by feeding the search engines garbage that you didn't intend them to see. This is easily done by installing the Node Page Disable module, or by using hook_menu_alter():

Don't kill yourself trying to rig search engine rankings, because you're not going to beat media companies that have eight-figure advertising and SEO budgets. Focus on updating regularly and providing some interesting content, and watch your access logs for a while to determine what's popular. There's no substitute for providing content that people want to see.
