Also, this might be a dumb question but say a character was in college before the first incident occured but weren't able to continue after due to the town being closed off/no connection to the outside world, could they still work in the career they were going to work in after graducation?

They agreed to go on Mira's road trip to the beach in 2019, which led to a detour that got them stuck in Huntsville. They've remained close with her through everything (them losing both Mira's brother and their mutual best friend) and are currently roommates.

Further Information (required): He wasn't even invited on Mirana's beach road trip from NYC to Florida (something she reminded him of constantly on the trip), but her brother Julian was his closest friend, and had somehow managed to convince him. Unfortunately, a weeklong trip has turned into, well, hell. Not only has he been trapped in Huntsville since 2019, but he lost Julian in 2020. Now he's left with no one but his best friend's sister and two people he barely knows. The worst part? She seems content to pretend he doesn't exist! He could be glad of this, blaming her for their misfortune, feel like he has to keep her out of danger for Julian's sake, or maybe he's forced his way into living with them because he knows no one else. Further Information (required): They could have dated anywhere from 6 months to 5 years (he lived in NYC at least as long as they dated), and it's completely UTP how he felt about their relationship, from being close to ending things, cheating, perfectly content, wanting to move in together, wanting to propose, etc. In 2019, he agreed to go on a weeklong beach road trip with her and a few others to celebrate landing her dream job. On the second night, they'd gotten into an drunken argument and she broke up with him. Maybe they would have made up or never spoken again, but the very next day they'd detoured to Huntsville, now indefinitely stuck in the same place. It’s been 5 years now so it could be he despises her for dumping and then trapping him here, exes w jealousy, a 'will they won’t they' where they always back out last minute, he wants her back when he really shouldn’t, only she has unresolved feelings, he just wants to be friends again, etc.!
