All Hallow's Eve

The sound of shuffling cards captured Kylo’s attention. The movement of the cards in Hux’s nimble fingers compelled him far more than the various creaks and groans of the old house they were sitting in. Hux stopped, tidying the cards before placing them down in front of Kylo.

“Cut the deck”.

Kylo did as instructed, and watched as Hux reassembled the desk with its new top card. He turned the first card, laying it down on the scarf Kylo had provided.

“The Lovers”.

Kylo grinned at Hux, his grin growing wider when Hux rolled his eyes, trying to supress his own smile.

Hux picked up the next card, turning it in his fingers when without warning a ceiling tile above them came loose, splatting wetly on top of the cards.
