In Super Mario World, this ledge in the center of the first room of Chocolate Island 2 is a very specific height that results in unique Dino Rhino behavior. If Mario lures a Dino Rhino to approach it from the left, the Dino Rhino will repeatedly jump towards it, barely catch on the ledge and slide back down in an infinite loop. emoji review: dragon emoji
he is very very powerful. a little bit intimidating. he wants to protect the things he cares about. 10/10
he’s trying to seem scary, but really he’s just a big sweetie pie!!! he’s scared of a lot of things and tries to act extra-tough. 10/10
i’m not a fan of the outline but it’s not bad! he’s very big and strong, but he’s a little bit of a scaredy-cat. he needs a lot of love. 10/10
this one is very young and inexperienced, but he wants to be strong like all the other dragons!!! he’s still a kid, so his proportions are a little bit weird. he has a bouncy-ball that he likes to pretend is a fireball! 10/10
this one is old and wise. he talks like an anime villain and tries too hard, but he’s actually just a big nerd. 10/10
no one knows very much about this dragon; they are very very mysterious. what we do know is that instead of capturing princesses or anything like that, they protect the kingdom from enemies! 10/10
very very old and very very powerful. he’s like a dragon wizard. has a very large hoard! i would not trust him with my gold. 10/10
she is clumsy but also very friendly!! she is a very bad flyer but she tries her best. please please be nice to her!!! 10/10
a bit of a grumpy dragon, but he is a young dragon and will work through this. i believe in him and love him. 10/10
she’s the absolute prettiest dragon!!!!! she’s actually holding a bubble of water! she has water powers and she’s beautiful!!! i support her!!! 10/10
he’s a grumpy old man!! he’s very nice if you give him a chance, though. he will tell you lots of stories, if you ask nicely! 10/10
this dragon has been hurt…. he’s a little bit cold because of it. please give him time, he’s still learning how to trust again. 10/10

Mario Kart: Double Dash contains a hidden functionality that provides a code after a Time Trial race that includes information about the track, the characters and kart used, as well as the total time and the fastest lap time.
If, after completing a race, the buttons L, R, L, R, X, Y, X, Y, Z are pressed in that order on the retry menu screen, the unique code will appear (top right). A player-made decoder is available online here (bottom); inputting the combination will correctly decode information about the race (compare with the times displayed at the end of the race, top left).
Unfortunately, this functionality was never used outside of a single contest by Nintendo exclusive to Japan, although it is available in all versions of the game. Main Blog | Twitter | Patreon | Store | Source: myself, Mario Kart:Double Dash (NA, GC) in GC emulator

Top: Official artwork released by Nintendo for Dr. Mario on the NES. The artwork is cut off; this version of it has for a long time been assumed to be the only version, with no uncropped full drawing existing.
Middle: A 1995 manga discusses what the full image could have looked like, noting the discrepancy between Dr. Mario’s and Nurse Peach’s heights in the image compared to their usual heights and hypothesizing that one of the characters’ legs would need to be the wrong length.
Bottom: Twitter.com user “sayokoskatti“ has discovered a full version of the artwork in an obscure information brochure for proper care and cleaning of the Nintendo Famicom Disk System. While Dr. Mario appears to be sitting on a stool here, explaining the inconsistent heights, looking closely at the original cropped artwork, he is depicted standing instead.
Since the full version does not entirely match the cropped version, there is no clear solution to the discrepancy. Should additional versions of the artwork surface, I will post updates on the situation. Main Blog | Twitter | Patreon | Store | Sources: 1, 2: see bottom of image, 3

In Super Mario Odyssey, if Mario is wearing the Bridal Gown, he will be wearing earrings if matching it with the Black Fedora (top) and no earrings if matching it with the Musician Hat (bottom), despite the hats being extremely similar. The reason is that the Black Fedora has a blue band, while the Musician Hat has a grey band; Mario wears blue earrings to match with the blue band in the first case, and no earrings in the second, as their color would not match. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, there is a tall hotel building in Poshley Heights where Mario is able to book a room. To visit the room, Mario must ride an elevator. Zooming out the camera to see the entirety of the hotel at once, we can see that the room is floating high above the actual building, to account for the length of the elevator ride.
