Hi Mr. Gaiman! I reread and rewatched Good Omens recently and was curious about something. Did Aziraphale actually commit tax fraud, or was he just so detailed in his record keeping that the IRS thinks he did?

I always kind of assumed he must have given that he lives on expensive land and buys expensive first edition books, but doesn’t actually make money off of his shop since he refuses to sell anything. But in the show it’s mentioned that he gets celestial wages for his work as an Angel, so maybe he does have legitimate income if that’s in some worldly currency? And therefore is just being very accurate in his records because he likes to be?

Regardless of whether you have the chance to answer this, I want thank you for indulging some of our silly questions on here!

Celestial wages are not in any currency that the Inland Revenue Service would recognise as income.
